I have been writing songs for quite a long time, but usually only when the stars align and the muse catches my imagination. This will be a personal challenge to try to create so many songs in such a short time-scale. This is my 3rd FAWM now, and so far I have managed to hit 14 songs each time by the last day which surprised me. I'm both excited and nervous at the prospect of doing it again, but I'm willing to give it a shot to see what I can manage to produce.

My songs seem to be mainly alt-country, acoustic guitar based tunes.

Thanks for you words about 'Come On Down'. It started out as a mandolin song but I found it difficult to play the fairly complex, non-stop mando part and sing at the same time. (More mando practice required). Getting the song recorded was the most urgent thing to do, so I did this acapella one-take version.

Thanks for that lovely comment on Who's That Girl? - I am quite possibly the least funky person that you could ever meet, so to be described in that way - jokingly or not - gave me a strange and unfamiliar thrill! Because I tend to do everything in software (apart from the voice, and sometimes a bit of drunken-sound lead guitar) I don't tend to have any swing to my rhythms (piano roll naturally leads me to metronome style evenness) - so when I realised I could and should push this one out a little, I consciously programmed it in here! So essentially: robo swing/funk!
