My grandmother fell when I was visiting her for Christmas so I took a sabbatical from school and stayed to help her here in the woods of Alabama. I brought a guitar, a mic, and my MacBook and IPad with some other gear. I found FAWM through a post in IPad Musicians. It’s the perfect way for me to focus on my music and get the emotions out— the juxtaposition of the stress, the love, and the beauty of this house and these woods.

Oh, and I've been to prison twice in Texas. Second time after a jury trial for something, a burglary, I didn't do. I wrote a book called American Creamy while I was in there. You can still buy it on Amazon. Changes your outlook on your fellow man. But I've taken it all in stride. I use music and art to deal. And hopefully, maybe, touch a few #souls.

i tried to buy your book but amazon doesnt take paypal, and my bank card expired 8 years ago. i havent been able to get another although i tried four times, but all mail from the US gets stolen before it gets to my door. i did read the first 10% sample though, and it looks really good, i interviewed this guy, craig brewer some years back when i was a journalist, he is from memphis and had just made a movie, hustle and flow. hes made a few more since then and i think he might be interested in your story. he is a white guy who likes to make black movies. in hollywood they told him that the only movies white guys were allowed to make about black people had to be comedies. but he finally got Stephanie Allain to produce it. ii think you two would hit it off.

thank you for listening to the john cage piece. not many people were able to make it through that one. even at the recitation itself, most of the audience walked out before it was over.

Thank you! Yes, throwing something against the wall is the way to go! But not my wall, lol. So happy you had some fun - and congratulations on winning your first FAWM!

Thanks for the comment on A Bar in Vallarta. Yes, it does need a couple of yelps and eyeyies. I wrote it actually thinking of a real bar on the beach in Puerto Vallarta where I didn't see hardly anyone attend, but the dancing girls on the platforms, and this one guy who seemed to disappear one night. (I had a balcony view of this bar!) The bar is said to be owned by the Cartel. Go figure. -Suzanne

Thanks very much for the thoughtful comment on “A Taste of Yesterday!” I would love for that comparison to be the case!

Hi Ted, thank you for checking out my "Stealing Pavement" song and commenting, I'm a huge Velvet Underground fan so I was quite pleased!

Hi Ted, thanks for your kind comments ts on my New Gloria (Paris), https://write.fawm.org/songs/11928. I did end up repeating the ending, but not with additional lyrics as I wanted to keep the simplicity of the song. I updated the liner notes to explain a bit of my thinking regarding the key change in the final verse.

It also now resolves in the confidence that God answers our prayers. Enjoy!
