This is my 3rd FAWM. Hope this one's as productive as the last two. I've written a lot of songs. You can find them by Googling my artist name: Bill Thwing. I've written a few books ...most recently one about songwriting - "The Song In My Heart". Spent most of my life as a pastor in Canada and the US. The last 20+ years I dedicated to Climate Change activism. I've written tons of haiku....even the haiku songs: "Dust " and "Nine Grandchildren". I need feedback...truth...hope. I haven't gone looking for lyrics yet, but if anybody wants their lyrics developed in my style, let me know . Thanks

Glad to hear you got the misfire fixed! The Certification program is pretty intense to get onto, there are only two places in Phoenix, and the other is much more expensive than the community college.
[avatar]
hey I think you mistakenly left a message for someone else on my page!! heads up!

@cjk
Hi, I'm not sure if you got my answer. Yes, it's okay if you want to put some music to my songs. If you do please sent a demo and chords to AJandChris at t-online.de

Awesome! Liz

Hi Bill. Yes, I got it and replied on Saturday at 1:06 pm. It's in my sent box. Regardless, I sent it again. Please let me know if you don't receive it tonight.
[avatar]
Hi Bill. My email is paulharrisonmusic@msn.com. I look forward to whatever you are sending...feels like Christmas! πŸ˜€

@kathym
Please feel free to have at it if there's anything in my lyrics that call out to you! Thanks for all the comments. I'm still catching up as well, having been needed to do other things. The month goes too fast!
[avatar]
Thanks for your note, Bill. I enjoyed our collab, too. Best of luck with your post-FAWM musical adventures!
[avatar]
Thanks, Bill. The pleasure was all mine. And I'll be here again next year (and also from 4 July during 50/90 this year).
[avatar]
Hey everybody. My third and most productive FAWM ever. Thank you all. It's been fun. Now I have to go back and see what all happened but I got I reaped 15 new songs of my own, did 8 or more collabs and listened to a lot of great music by such a variety of other musicians and lyricists. Thanks See you all in 2024 if not before!
[avatar]
Thank you Bill. You are very generous. 😊
I have a couple of other ideas in mind to try tomorrow (it's getting close to my bedtime here in the UK). I'll send you the links once I record them and let you decide which approach you prefer.
[avatar]
Hi Bill.
I messed around with Shazzam earlier. This is my first interpretation. I'll work on a couple of different approaches, but it's time for me to shut things down here for the night. :-)

I managed to avoid Ron DeSantis as I left Florida just before he really gained any power !
[avatar]
The Shape of Wind seems to have vanished from your songs list?
If I post it up as a collab twixt you and I, would you fill in the back story and Naomi's details please?
[avatar]
Bill, I just posted my version of Do Not Fear, Trust in Me. Between the two of us, I think we’ve given a nicely rounded treatment to Liz’s wonderful lyrics. Great collab all the way around!
[avatar]
Re: Remember or Forget. Go for it. Looking forward to hearing it. Cheers
[avatar]
I'd love to hear what you would do with "Souls!" Feel free to edit the lyrics....I like some of them better than others. πŸ˜„
[avatar]
Thanks for your comments on my Shakespeare-inspired song! I'm very glad you liked it. About your friends poem, I looked....it's loaded with juicy images and wonderful phrases. Imho, it would be long for a song but I would enjoy picking portions to use in a song...possibly with additional words. Would that be okay? I see, though, that someone else has expressed interest and I don't want to step on anyone's project.
[avatar]
Awesome! I really love it! The melody is so wonderful! If you could add me as a collaborator to the post I will drop a note in the liner notes applauding your music!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your comment on I hardly Shed a Tear. It's just a travel nylon string with the capo on the 7th fret.
[avatar]
Thanks a lot for your kind words pn my magpie song! πŸ™πŸ€—
[avatar]
Hey Bill, (a genuine) thank you for listening to '"Thank You So Much For That (Useless) Advice", and other songs! Great to meet a former Bostonian here. Look forward to checking out some of your tracks!
[avatar]
I have total respect for another artist's work. It's only right that the author has final say. 😊
[avatar]
I think I will pass if only because I have a stack of collabs already sitting before me to finish!
[avatar]
Your music would be lovely on that! It is possible someone else might do a version to but I am not sure they will - I am open to two versions if they decided to do it and will let them know you are doing this one!
[avatar]
Hi Bill.
It *is* Paul. 😊
And I'm so pleased you like my twiddlings.

Hi Bill.
I downloaded the poem and simply improvised along with it. Is this the kind of thing you had in mind?

@colgoo
Bill, are you asking me to write the lyrics for a collab? Happy to accommodate. I am doing most of my song recording/listening on the weekends because my work these days is pretty tiring. I love it, but it saps my energy. So I write lyrics on my commute and record stuff on the weekends.
[avatar]
Yes! Please! I would love that!
[avatar]
Thank you, Bill.
And thank you for your kind words about my music. πŸ™
[avatar]
Congrats on your early WIN!!! Keep writing!
[avatar]
Hi Bill.
Thank you for the listen and taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it. πŸ™
I'm always willing to have a go at providing soundtracks or soundscapes, so sure, let's give it a whirl. 😎
[avatar]
Hey, Bill - Great job. I just love it. It feels so full of gentle delight. I love the way you play and sing it. Thank you!
[avatar]
Thank you, Bill, for your understanding. If there's anything I can do for you, just give me a call!

Greetings Bill! I sincerely thank you for your interest in my GENZ progressive rock album. As much as I admire your talent with guitar and vocals, it is indispensable to me that the music and voice on my first solo-album are wholly mine.

I'm always eager though to join forces on other musical projects!

Sent you a possible Jonathan Edwards lyric in email. See what you think.
[avatar]
Thanks so much!! It actually was a cell phone recording - I think the alt tuning helps a lot. It is in DADGAD
[avatar]
Thank you for posting The Only Way to Hang On. I like it.
[avatar]
Yes. Yes. Yes. I'll find some lyrics for you. Let me dig around, I would love to write something about the sunny side of Jonathan Edwards - my husband's told me about it. I'll ask him. And Yes please to music for "The Only Way to Hang On".
Re: wrecked voice, I heard a producer say he tells singers to sleep as little as possible before coming in, because when your voice is at its most wrecked it's most quintessentially you.
[avatar]
Hi @skibum007
Please do have a bash at , Fear of Falling.
I'm not a musician and so rely on collaborations with people who can play. I normally scan and rhyme to make things easier, but do feel free to phrase it in your own fashion, if that helps.
looking forward to another evolution...
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words about "Out of the Blue (Came You)". I followed up on your suggestion to hear Luna Girl. It's a lovely song. I'll bet she loves it.

One of the benefits of using recording software instead of a phone is the ability to edit out the coughs. You have no idea how many runs I take at some of the phrases in my songs in order to get one that is close to the target.
[avatar]
Thank you for your emphatic comment on R.'s farewell.
[avatar]
The Song "Now it all Begins" and the lyric sheet ,"Shazzam" are two of a 27 set series of poems I hope to write, based on the "Creation Narrative" in the biblical book of Genesis. I have only completed 8 poems so far. I'll post a couple of them as Lyric Sheets so see if anyone is interested giving them a musical interpretation.
[avatar]
Thank you. Looking forward to reading your new poems.

Thank you for your comment on Sea Monster. I'd like to see your poems if you are happy for me to.
[avatar]
Hi @skibum007 - the concept album is the master plan of @roel_van_veldt - I offered a few lyrical tweaks. I know @roel_van_veldt is interested in collaboration on the album, so you two should talk about possible directions. (And I’m happy to send you a set of lyrics any time about any subject of your choosing)
[avatar]
Hey, thank you for commenting! I played the guitar on Grace A Widow myself. Hope you're having a fun FAWM and feeling inspired!!

I am! Good to see you!
