Vocalists, guitarists or drummers wanted for virtual bands

@nadine
Welcome to my annual search thread for collabs. All songs will be recorded after FAWM and uploaded on SoundCloud, YouTube and Bandcamp. Mostly for fun and sharing knowledge. No multiple takers, one song, one team, one lyric. * means absolutely necessary to continue. Please comment here or into the song, if you're interested. Updated: March 16th

VOCALS #needs_vocals

Carry me home* (soul, gospel)
https://write.fawm.org/songs/17993
We need a clean warm charismatic voice with a big range. I envision a contraalto or baritone with soul, r'n'b or blues background. A draft recording in March / April is necessary to find the right key for transposition. The final recording can happen later.

DRUMS #needs_drums

Take The Black (power metal, folk metal)
Last FAWM, we recruited a 6 member band who nearly finished with recording. We need an acoustic set, cause all my VST libraries didn't sound well. 138 BPM, occasional doublebass and half time passages. Demo on demand, recording in Summer.

@jamkar
I would like to sing Carry Me Home.

I know you know, but I'm available. Not sure what vst's you're using, or what sound you're looking for exactly, but most of my vst's are more capable than just one acoustic set. If you want somethingnraw and dirty, it's definitely possible. Worst case, I coukd always throw some mics on my acoustic kit, but it will greatly lack dynamics

@jamkar
Thank you! We talked about it via mail, I'll keep you posted.

@steptide
I have good libraries and I know their limits. I explicitly look for multiple microphoned acoustic set.

I already got excited about doing the alt rock/nu metal song on drums but it has some double bass action in the demo and I haven't practised those chops for years! It's not a fast part so it might be doable...

@muovinen
Thanks for your interest. I guess you mean "Backwards". My drum programming is a draft, only explaining basic beat, intensity and half time feels. Feel free to add your mojo. Double bass is not a must but it helps to push the heavier parts forward.

In case you meant "Take The Black" the demo is not online anymore, but check the song info above.

My FAWM is over, so I updated the list. Feel free to join these projects until this site goes offline (March 31). Otherwise the projects will be produced with a smaller arrangement or cancelled.

@nadine
Last call for collabs! We were able to staff most positions, only 3 roles are remaining.

If you don't mind some cheating going on, I can do a walking double bass line. My tuning isn't the greatest still, so I generally do an auto-tuning pass on the bad notes after recording. Basically what I did for this years songs Entry, First Dance, Green Cat and Without Common Language. If you don't notice anything wonky with the tuning on those, then I'd be happy to join in. I would spend a bit more time on this song though so there's less post editing required.

@deadhead
Sure! Double and fretless basses are hard to play, but they have that soft groovy irreplaceable sound. No issue to check the tuning, and I don't mind who of us does. Yeah, please give it a try.
Would you prefer recording before or after the rhythm guitars? I'm rearranging the structure and rewriting the drums. Piano will stay as is.
Thank you!

@nadine yes to before the guitars, unless you feel like the guitars are the main rhythm instrument to follow for this particular song.

@nadine
@seb Can you please tell me which song and which role? Thanks.
