@billwhite51
I am remixing and editing some pieces of radio art i did live on WMFO-FM in Medford MA. If you are into #experimental sound pieces, you might like this piece featuring John Cage from his Elliot Norton lectures at Harvard. https://billwhite.bandcamp.com/album/when-john-cage-came-to-harvard

@nahlej381 and I are going to try to finish up our Noise Rock album project over the next few months.

I'm super excited to be recording and rerecording 6 of my FAWM tunes at a real $85/hour studio starting this Saturday. I've written a few more since the end of February that'll be included in an actual mastered CD. I haven't done this in a bunch of years. The Grammy and Emmy winning engineer is also a multi-instrumentalist to help me realize each song's potential. I'm so pumped! I'll post updates on the FAWMERS group on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/6604091092)
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/2324.png)
This is so cool, guys! I'd like to be able to complete some projects, but I'm not sure about time. I'm rooting for all of you! All the best, amigos!

I'm gluing my cracked front bumper back together with epoxy and zip ties on my Fiat 500.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/26622.png)
Post FAWM is where my fun begins. I will rerecord, mix, and produce A LOT from this and previous year. So lucky to hear I'm not the only one who takes their drafts to another level. Stay tuned on my social media or the FAWMers listening group, if you want to listen :)

I have a couple of projects that I'm working on. One is a covers album by my post-punk side project. I do about one cover a month so I should have the album done well before the end of the year. I have another main project using mostly Fawm songs from 2021 as well as a few since then that I've been steadily working on. And I've thought about doing a whole album of songs that I've cowritten with other Fawmers after all that.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/455.png)
I put up three new shelves on my walls for plants. I also moved some framed art around as part of the new config.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/14395.png)
Currently recording the 11 songs I wrote for this FAWM. That'll take most of the spring and then I'll be creating the artwork and maybe even make my first video with a view to releasing everything in late autumn. Would love to work on one of my other album projects too but I'm reality once the sun comes out I'm out.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/13927.png)
I signed up for the SpinTunes contest finally this year! So I'm toiling away at the song for week one for now; that and back to playing shows with the band-o.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/7599.png)
Well.... 50-90!
In April I will perform a few tunes at Gilda's Club ( I'm a bladder cancer survivor) and hope to play an outdoor festival or two.

i'm considering re-recording all the songs from a 1998 4-track cassette demo i made, with the skills/equipment i have now. y'know, if taylor swift is re-doing all the recordings from her teenage years...
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/9175.png)
@burrsettles i suspect taylor is redoing her albums because she does not own the rights to the originals.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/3613.png)
Most of my songwriting happens outside of FAWM, so I'm in the process of looking for a non-FB community of musical folx to connect/collaborate with. *suggestions welcomed* My hope is to get my dozen favorite songs re-recorded at the highest quality I can access, and then aligned across channels.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/15475.png)
Going back to some writing - stories/events from my life - I started in October, although I haven't started back on it yet. Last year, I thought, I should write this stuff down now, if there's a time when I can't...
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/32099.png)
I'm gonna change that burnt out spotlight above my shower. Done some skiing too!
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/26283.png)
I have been moving. Mostly furniture and piles of stuff in the house. But I have gathered up all my music paraphernalia, and dedicated one spot in the house to organize it. So I now have an Official Studio space. I should learn how to post a photo on FAWM so I can show it off.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/14395.png)
@burrsettles I've been working on the something similar for the last 15 years - still nowhere near happy with them. The search for sonic perfection goes on 😂
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/15663.png)
I just formed last weekend new shy and quiet trio project. Let’s see how quiet we can be. 😝

I'm "supposed to" be working on my FAWM songs, to take them from demos to finished tracks, but...
So, instead, I'm doing a bit of sound design prep.
While working on my Polyend Tracker songs, I found WaveEdit Online's collection of wavetables and I've been collecting them and their .PNG files for further use in the Tracker.
But today, I'm going thru all the wavetables from that site in Pigments and selecting a bunch as favorites for future projects. Using them as starting points for new instruments, sound design, etc., going forward.
If you're also interested in a big collection (702, it seems) of wavetable files, you might want to check out their collection:

Hopefully can get to recording another album now that I finally finished the last one.

@burrsettles @billwhite51 why can't these artists have more rights?
I think both Rihanna and Prince got their rights, after more or less asking for them.
I just finished editing 28 of my 43 FAWM songs, and made two albums out of them.
My next project is underway (a new album), but it may take some time to gain any ground.

taylor swift received a very large advance for the perpetual rights to her first six albums. by re recording them, she will have complete ownership over the re recorded albums, greatly reducing the value of the originals for which she receives no royalties. prince changed his name so that he could release albums to which he owned sole rights. this is also a reason many groups break up and then continue to record under different names. taxes are another reason for these things. soundgarden broke up because $35 million on petty cash could not be accounted for.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/31356.png)
@billwhite51 I appreciate the info. on this. I didn't know the full Prince backstory, nor did I know about Soundgarden's situation. The Soundgarden situation is very unfortunate.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/31356.png)
@billwhite51 I know several artists have been ripped off by their managers too. If not by the record companies themselves. I think both are common actually. I remember hearing about Elton John's manager stealing millions, and about Billy Joel's record company giving him a truly awful several record deal. Both situations send the message to be careful with whom and how you trust.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/9175.png)
$35 million is not really that much for a rock band on tour to fritter away over a 10 year period. nonetheless, it is a lot on paper when audited. it was not so much a band breaking up but a business being dissolved. and after a certain period of time, the guys got back together and started a new soundgarden business venture,
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/31356.png)
@billwhite51 Agreed about the $35 million. Fun and interesting story. :)
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/1283.png)
@billwhite51 - Heya, do you have a link for the $35 million in missing money being the reason they broke up? I was really interested in that but I can't find anything that says they broke up over money or about the missing money at all. (I did see a lawsuit alleging Cornell's wife misappropriated money from the benefit concert.) It's an interesting subject for sure.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/2380.png)
I plan to edit and maybe refine my FAWM songs, make some at-least-slightly better recordings, and air the songs out a bit at open mics and any gigs that may be ahead. I also plan to go to Summersongs songwriting camp in NY at the end of July...it's a relaxed, positive atmosphere with caring, helpful instructors... not commercially focused.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/9175.png)
after the break up, their drum tech, who had been a friend of mine for 20 years or so, was out of a job so he started a band with me, and is my source for the following.chris's wife who was also their manager and owner of the crocodile cafe, was responsible for accounting for the shortages, but had not embezzled the money. it was just poor book keeping, which is common in a business that has scads of loose cash floating around.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/31356.png)
Interesting story. I'm a big fan of the Seattle scene, where I understand you come from. I've been to some shows. Not nearly enough.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/31236.png)
Courtney killed Kurt. I think. Hard to say. I saw them in ‘93 so I’m pretty much an expert, though. I made a website for my new project, and I’m recording a video this weekend. https://www.tednickerson.com
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/31236.png)
@billwhite51 yeah, I’m checking your radio work out. Right down my alley.
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/3256.png)
I will be working on an album of material with @spazsquatch ...we may take in some input from 50/90 when we get to it...
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/9175.png)
@orbit_carver perhaps she didnt kill him, but she was involved in the hiring of the assassin. i believe this because a friend of mine was found dead after turning down an offer from courtney of $30,000 to kill kurt. many people know couirtney is a killer but are afraid to talk because they dont want to get killed. i have asked many people who were close to them and they answer with a nod and a wink. she was also behind the death of her bass player kristen pfaff .
![[avatar]](https://avatars.fawm.org/fawm2023/20541.png)
I am planning to mix and master my 3rd album which I hope to have completed by May. I am currently doing an online mixing course which once it is completed will be a great skill set for the mixes on the new album...one would hope !. So these two endeavors should kept me busy until 5090 starts.
