[avatar]
I've had this one from @woolford stuck in my head for days:

https://write.fawm.org/songs/13156

Here I am doing crappy little phone demos and he's gone full production with this one, as if it's not enough to write such a catchy melody AND such poetic lyrics, the talented git.
[avatar]
@apauls wrote this great tune:
https://write.fawm.org/songs/12237

Came back to listen again today. Would download if possible.

I love @nateger and all of his creations. Check him out. He is brilliant.
[avatar]
@jorh
I’d highly recommend this one by @andrewjtaylor. I’ve come back to listen a few times over the last few days. The chorus is 🔥, super catchy! And think it has LOTS of crossover appeal:

https://write.fawm.org/songs/11870
[avatar]
One of the many joys of FAWM, as you all know, is discovering the work of new FAWMlings and welcoming their talented presence into our community. Here's a big recommendation for FAWMling @missmaunder. Just pick any of her songs, they're all amazing. https://write.fawm.org/songs/13167
[avatar]
@nancihobson1 's first song is a killer. Check it out: https://write.fawm.org/songs/14256

Absolutely huge, singalong at the top of your voice emo-pop-punk here from @ariskofrain and @packtheharborclub. Stupidly catchy.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/14360
[avatar]
@chroes
Came here to post "A cure from Loneliness", but @wolfkier beat me to it. Amazing work, @intoyourlight!
[avatar]
So, if you haven't stumbled onto @sarahmonticue 's stuff... it's worth a listen. Might be 'only' choruses but such choruses! https://write.fawm.org/songs/14579 (but really all her stuff)
[avatar]
You've got to hear "Good Bones" by @theodamus

https://write.fawm.org/songs/12240

This just knocks me out. Every bit of it: the casual delivery of all those words, the variety in the rhythms and speeds, the voice quality, the homespun harmonies. And the LYRICS -- fresh lines, internal rhymes, every beat in place, so much pleasure on the surface, so much meaning underneath. Did I mention it's insanely catchy? Well, it's insanely catchy. This is great songwriting.
[avatar]
@ericalbert oh my gosh thank you so much for this glowing review, I’m floored (and very flattered) ❤️
[avatar]
Can you recommend your own songs? Asking for a friend!
[avatar]
@gm7
If he is a friend of Ray D. Opossum then he is a friend of ours!

https://write.fawm.org/songs/13526
[avatar]
https://write.fawm.org/songs/14773 by @millystale is fabulous! It could be a movie soundtrack. It's vast, deep, and alien.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/14815
Just try not to dance. I dare ya.
[avatar]
I do like the random button sometimes but it does send me to a lot of the same songs each day ! this however is my Fav - almost everyone is a winner keep posting!
[avatar]
This one's a beautiful demonstration of the power of simplicity. Finely distilled. Just 4 verses of 4 lines each by @woolford but it says so much. And, of course, @corinnelucy did an impeccable job setting the lyrics to music.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/15152#c54060
[avatar]
@beacon
Do not stop, immediately click on the following link to hear an amazing song by @aflinner (https://write.fawm.org/songs/15214) called Jackdaws and Whippoorwills. You will not be sorry.
[avatar]
OK, so I'm a bit biased, perhaps, but my wife and musical partner created a really cool round, and came up with a way to engineer it in our home studio.

Another Round Of Insomnia

https://write.fawm.org/songs/14311
[avatar]
My buddy, and occasional bandmate, @spaniel is doing some really cool and interesting stuff right now

[avatar]
@apauls Passenger Pigeons. Lovely folk rock tune. Beautiful lyrics, great sound quality and solid instrumentation.

I've heard lots of great stuff already this month, but I have to give a shout out to 'Get Your Boots On' by @philnorman . I listened (on repeat) this morning and it's an absolute beaut.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/15184
[avatar]
@artie
This may be my favourite FAWM of song! Stylistically, the approach to this piece of writing and recording is just everything that I want in a music. It's irreverent, refreshingly raw, honest, and fun. @elltarune for the win! More this. https://write.fawm.org/songs/15282
[avatar]
"Get Better" by @scarletswalk is heartbreaking and beautiful and deeply relatable: https://write.fawm.org/songs/15447
[avatar]
This is one of the best things I’ve heard this year so far. Amazing stuff from @ampersandman and @caitlin

https://write.fawm.org/songs/15534
[avatar]
@reklov
I wonder why @oddbod isn't mentioned yet. This is nearly perfection. All of his songs he has done so far are gems!
[avatar]
@ryako does a ‚Choose your own adventure‘ game. Not only does she write a story based on the community’s decisions, every chapter comes with a brilliantly composed soundtrack. But as of now there are too few players for this chapter:
https://write.fawm.org/songs/15623
[avatar]
https://write.fawm.org/songs/13753 by @cloudcolor - described as "witch house" - dark-yet-sparkly synthy melodic magic. Not safe for work, but instantly relatable to anyone who has had their own witch b**ch in their life!
[avatar]
@nadine
If you enjoy blues rock, hammond organ and a bit of prog, you'll love this one from @b3nut . The atmosphere and guitar tones are ace.
https://write.fawm.org/songs/13603
[avatar]
Check out this slick slice of toe tapping awesomesauce from @richaaaay and @davidtaro. I can't listen to it enough!

@oddbod
This gem from @timothybracken is deserving of some more love

https://write.fawm.org/songs/15770
[avatar]
Here's one I caught on Random songs @daviddanielparker Dead at your door. Really great singer songwriter stuff. Good vocals, Identifiable lyrics with some great lines. Superb songwriter delivery. And as a bonus am shamelessly recommending my songs only because i have 9 comments and want to get to double digits Lol. Hope everyone is enjoying this all as much as i am!
[avatar]
Random Songs put the tag #swamptronica in front of me, which led me to @radiobenedetto's fantastic "New Dark Age," with its sensational vocals and compellingly creative instrumentation that totally lives up to, no, exceeds, the promise of its "invented genre." You can thank me in advance:

https://write.fawm.org/songs/15676
[avatar]
@scottmcb 's "Cheap Booze" will make you feel just a little happier to be alive:

https://write.fawm.org/songs/14821
[avatar]
Earthsoul by @kathrynhoss is energetic, fun, and chaotic in the best possible way: https://write.fawm.org/songs/15539
[avatar]
@beacon
For a song that has so much vulnerability and pain, along with a tremendous performance, you need to hear @aflinner with The Fee.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/16048
[avatar]
@nadine
I love random collabs! And this one by @nancycunning and @cheslain is just ace! https://write.fawm.org/songs/13568
[avatar]
@radiobenedetto has posted a fantastic FAWM meta song called "No Comment (A Ballad of Unrequited FAWM)". It is clever, well written and superbly performed. Definitely worth a listen...

https://write.fawm.org/songs/16071
[avatar]
My wonderful friend @inger is writing gorgeous, lyrically gifted, jazz-classical-pop on the piano, and sings like a cut-glass angel. https://write.fawm.org/songs/16359
[avatar]
@billwhite51 has another song further up the thread, but I've really been enjoying a lot of his work this FAWM. It's authentic (but also timeless) sounding, it's written honestly (like all of his stuff), his voice is painful and gives me the feels, it's just the whole package. I had to e-mail the link to a songwriter friend of mine as well (she's not doing FAWM but I think her musical spirit is similar).

https://write.fawm.org/songs/16547
[avatar]
@vomvorton and @frenchcricket always set the bar high. This collab is brilliant.
Sleeping Dream
https://write.fawm.org/songs/16663
[avatar]
Aww thank you @johnstaples for the shout-out on "Dear Helga"!

I just heard "ChatGPT Is At Capacity" by @cowex and @philnorman and it's fantastic from start to finish.
[avatar]
Okay, umm, this is AMAZING. It's like my favorite form of staccato college radio rebellion pop.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/16949

Soooo (Many Girls) by @amelea and @thenucleus

They tagged it #rock and #spunky

Yes. Yes it is.
[avatar]
https://write.fawm.org/songs/16063
This song swallowed me whole and surrounded me with loveliness. Such a mood.
@fatboyjamz “Once a Piano” a FAWMling that feels like he’s been here all along.
[avatar]
@oddbod
If anyone's posted a more beautiful song than this one I want to hear it.
I've already tipped @melaniepegge on here but this is a collaboration with @andygriff -

https://write.fawm.org/songs/16316
[avatar]
I wouldn't be surprised if someone already recommended this song but I missed it. Love this track from @frenchcricket - https://write.fawm.org/songs/13539
[avatar]
@beacon
Okay, with all the songs I'm listening to, I found so many great ones but these two blew me away:

* Obsolete by @scotttestmusic is amazingly well crafted lyrically, musically, performance, the whole shebag: https://write.fawm.org/songs/17020

* Eat the Pie by @eas3637 has such great wordplay, a fun story, and a good moral to boot. As always, the vocals and player are on point: https://write.fawm.org/songs/16798
[avatar]
So, you want a hit? THIS is a hit. Maybe we are witnessing the birth of one of this year's bangers: The very aptly titled "10/10" by @leah0k and @jacobeverettwallace . Really, holy shit, guys, I just can't.
https://write.fawm.org/songs/17150
[avatar]
Just found this one in the skirmish. If ever there was a song that proved that skirmish songs could be great it's this one from @porrectus:

https://write.fawm.org/songs/17207
[avatar]
Check out this catchy tune from @scottmcb
Amazing stuff

https://write.fawm.org/songs/17282

A rave dance party of the giant robots of funkiness
[avatar]
The most serious of topics dealt with efficiency and grace by @itoarazi Lyrics only.
https://write.fawm.org/songs/15929
[avatar]
My buddy @daviddanielparker decided to join us this year, and as he is one of my closest friends and favorite songwriters, I couldn't be happier. Swing on by his profile, his stuff is always worth listening to. Here's his latest (the subject matter is dark, but it's gorgeous): https://write.fawm.org/songs/17275

For sure check out his other stuff while you're there. :-)
[avatar]
There is simply no song I can recommend more highly than "Don't Be a Butt Butt" by @jeffkimball

13 seconds of perfection with a 7 year old child.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/17389
[avatar]
@jeff9
Simply a stunningly beautiful song here by @migsorbie in a 1+1 (piano & vocal) format that sounds way bigger:

https://write.fawm.org/songs/12455
[avatar]
Mikey just wrote a banger:
https://write.fawm.org/songs/17543

[avatar]
@sunnymae Letter Valentino. >>>> https://write.fawm.org/songs/18150
I'm speachless.
[avatar]
"Kaltes Wasser" by @dukemeyer is an absolutely wild and hilarious treatise on the properties of water, set to eclectic and funky music with a truly inspired use of effects.
https://write.fawm.org/songs/17474
[avatar]
I urge you to take a moment to listen to this dramatic beauty by @muovinen and @lyricslinger https://write.fawm.org/songs/17632
[avatar]
If you're not familiar with @jonmeta, do yourself a favor and give a listen: https://write.fawm.org/songs/16760
[avatar]
Also, don't miss the work of @fearlessflight2014. She has 2 songs posted as of this moment (one a stellar collab with @zecoop), and both are phenomenal. Listen to the songs she's put up, or miss out.
[avatar]
That’s really kind @aflinner! I’m a bit behind on posting songs but I have a few in the works…
[avatar]
This track by @sienachristie - > https://write.fawm.org/songs/18374 - It's their first FAWM song and.. just wow.
[avatar]
@audrey
I'd like to recommend this gem by @crutherford
https://write.fawm.org/songs/14052
[avatar]
"A Few Days Of The Simple Life" by @sarahdevalliere is the first song that made me weep this FAWM. It's about camping in the outdoors with her kids. I just think it's really beautiful, such a gentle and sweet song. I can imagine it in an animated movie.

https://write.fawm.org/songs/16299
[avatar]
People. @cmharwood89 is capable of writing deep, serious, meaningful songs (and has written a couple of those so far this FAWM), but this is the song I keep returning to (Wally the Wallaby) because it is just so much fun, and so absurdly well executed (the language!!!) and makes me smile: https://write.fawm.org/songs/18177
[avatar]
Fawmling song that deserves way more listens: "cute lil rain song" by @nelsonwalkermusic . https://write.fawm.org/songs/18500
[avatar]
This is spectacular! https://write.fawm.org/songs/19302 @ianuarius and @amandaroseriley hit it out of the park with this powerful track.
[avatar]
I’m drudging along in FAWM and ran across this little gem https://write.fawm.org/songs/18963 It’s a collab, and if you are having a bad day, this might turn it into an alright one…… or maybe even make it awesome!!! 😁
[avatar]
My buddy @Mishappenings just blew me away with this. The Screams! My god!
https://write.fawm.org/songs/19396
[avatar]
@debs
This skirmish offering from @carpeliam has gotten into my bones. I keep returning to it. https://write.fawm.org/songs/19565
[avatar]
Oh my word but did this skirmish effort by @crutherford make me grin this morning. https://write.fawm.org/songs/19295
[avatar]

I love the combination of old and new - beats next to bagpipes, sci-fi synths next to silky flutes - in this song of peace by @electrocelte

https://soundcloud.com/electrocelte/fawm-23-02-new-year-new-world
[avatar]
If you only listen to one recommendation this fawm listen to sisters of the broken feet. @billwhite51 @dragondreams @mahtowin tell me that song isn't awesome
[avatar]
okay i'm uhhhh not biased at all but seriously for the love of god, don't think about it, stop what you're doing, and go listen to kansas (https://write.fawm.org/songs/20001) by @sienachristie right now

haunting fingerpicked guitar, a crystal clear voice, fascinating and complex melody twists, and a set of lyrics that stopped me in my tracks. i cannot believe i'm in a band with them
[avatar]
Found so many great tracks because of this thread so I wanna give back. @sollis is making chill guitar driven lofi tracks with great ear for catchy hooks. I'm actually recommending the only track of his I haven't commented on (don't ask why) because that very opening phrase is so damn sweet. And it's an improvised piece! But do check out his other tracks too if you're into chilling and vibing. Have a great monday lovely fawmers!

https://write.fawm.org/songs/15048
[avatar]
@sollis
Oh, thanks so much @muovinen! You're far too kind!

I just checked, and @amelea and @thenucleus already have 3 of their songs in this thread. And I'm going to add a 4th:

Killswitch - https://write.fawm.org/songs/19367

I dunno what they eat for brekfast in their house, but they are on fire this FAWM 😀

one of my favorite singers and one of my favorite lyricists have created what is to me the top song of february's fawm. perfect in every way, with its several levels inviting us to go deeper or to stay afloat. the song is like the ocean, we see a lot of water but there is even more down below the surface. jeff's singing is absolutely fantastic, with a tonal quality somewhere between marty robbins anrd roy orbison, and phrasing that proves he understands every word he is singing.

You long time fawmers probably already know but I stumbled onto @frenchcricket last night and that's my recommendation. The keen ear and sense for melody is unparalleled with anything else I've heard here, yet... She seems to have a gang of collaborators that are all great as well: @thelowestbitter @shortdan @vomvorton Follow them all! You won't be disappointed...

This one from @oswlek and @richaaaay is standing the test of time for me. They posted it a couple of weeks ago, but I've got it saved in my bookmarks and keep on coming back to it. It's called 'Carolina', and it's well worth every listen:

This DELIGHTFUL tune with clever lyrics, tight harmonies, and just the best 90s indie throwback vibe was my biggest unexpected delight today from @dugganensis and @conorg https://write.fawm.org/songs/21030

Listen to that song by @spirulence @bxphane @conorg and @guitargabe

Three people made versions of “Into The Night” from @kahlo2013 ‘s fabulous lyrics, myself included. I just heard the last version, and I am totally blown away by what my friend @savoy did. This song is a total treat to listen to. Check it out:

with @davidtaro and @brisk collaborating, you know this is going to be a good one. but they exceed all expectations with this song about human limitations and the despair of not being able to help those who need our help the most. david is always an outstanding and compelling singer, but this time he knocks it right off the clef with notes that i never knew existed. a fabulous performance of a song with a message vital to us all.

@jeff9 and @greengrassgirl collab from earlier in the month. I love soul music and Jeff’s voice is great here, but I love the guitar part to pieces here. Good lyrics, too. Not sappy, just real.

first up, it’s hard to choose one song that stands out from so many standout FAWM tracks, and I have more listening to do today here on March 1st… but the first track that came to mind was this, by @djtjb: https://write.fawm.org/songs/16129.
