I have set up a Google Calendar for Skirmishes this year. Hopefully all Skirmishes will be added to this calendar so all you need to do is subscribe to it so it will sync to your phone, computer or whatever, and you will never miss a Skirmish again*

Unfortunately I cannot give everyone access to add their Skirmishes (Google only allows people you have individually added to the calendar to make edits), but I will try and skim the forums for Skirmishes and add them to the calendar.

If you want to add them to the calendar yourself, or help to keep the calendar updated, send me an email (mariekevinkmusic@gmail.com) and I will give you the right permissions.

*I offer no guarantees that the calendar will be fully correct as I am only one tiny human doing my best. The more people help, the better it will be.

@nancycunning I have sent you an invite so you can edit/add/remove/manage events. The calendar is set for GMT but the times should adjust automatically. Not sure if that will actually work but we'll see :o)

Thank you so much for putting this together @mariekevinkmusic ! One quick clarifying question: I see the appointment for each skirmish is a 2 hour block. Is it safe to assume the first hour is the Skirmish itself, and the second hour is for listening and commenting on everyone's amazing songs? To put it another way -- is the *start* of the calendar item the *start* of the skirmish hour? Thanks again! This is a huge service to the community!

@prsongsmith Yes that is the idea. During a Super Skirmish, most people take an hour to write and then an hour to listen. I just thought people might want to block a 2 hour slot in their diary for each skirmish :0)

@mariekevinkmusic that makes a lot of sense. I know in the past, I've made the error of not reserving time to *listen* to the other songs, so I really appreciate your including that in the calendar. Thanks again!

Sorry if this a stupid question, but my goggle calendar shows all the skirmishes, but are they in my own time zone? I have tech issues 😁

@andrea I believe it should show it in your local time zone?

For example, I am in GMT and my calendar shows a skirmish at 2pm and at 9pm today.

@andrea @ohdeer in the bottom left, the calendar says: "Event shown in time zone: Untied Kingdom Time." Mine also say 2 and 9 today but I'm not in the UK. 😀

Well that is weird. I thought Google amended these things to the time zone set by the individual user who views the calendar. So it should show up as 2pm GMT when I look at it from my GMT location, and as CST in a CST location. How weird.

Thanks @johncrossman and @ohdeer. My settings look correct, but still show GMT time. I will get family help and figure it out. I understand what I need to do :)

@andrea, @ohdeer the URL posted for the calendar has an explicit display timzone in the query string: if you edit it, and replace the 'Europe%2FLondon' at the end of the URL with your zone name (e.g., 'America%sFNew_York` for me), it will display in your preferred timezone. Likewise, if you subscribe ti that calendar (adding it to your main Google Calendar view) the events will display in your preferred timezone.

I like to subscribe here to get information earlier... when I go to the FAWM page it s usually too late.

If you want access to the Skirmish calendar, so you can add the skirmishes yourself, please send me an email (address on my profile) and I will give you access. It is not possible for me to add every skirmish, especially not when there will be super skirmishes.
