The Hunt for Ned the Stockholder

As someone who makes a lot (mostly all lol) instrumentals, I'm currently hyper focused on keeping it interesting throughout. So here I wanted to keep the same loop repeating and find other ways to keep the listeners attention. Laid down the chords and the bass, then did some manipulation to some dialogue on my Kaoss Pad to get the scratch effects. Sprinkled in some other weird sounds. A good step in the right direction

This is some Jet Set Radio-Morning radio in a quiet little cafe-type of beat. I meant to comment on this the other day when i heard it while playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and thought it was apart of the menu soundtrack lmao. Amazing song and production quality....could be on the radio honestly haha. ^^

Totally love the groove. Cool, late-night clubbing. I can so hear a sweet, but smokey female voice doing some occasional, simple vocal lines over this. Not that it 'needs' vocals, but just an idea.

This is great and kept my interest throughout. The scratching on the Laos pad adds a nice touch. Very clean production. I also like the high toned background synth around 1:30.

This track is pure money. Favorite part is at 1:23 when the low end sounds like it's just rippling its way back in. Tasty.

I couldn't resist the title! This had me smiling the whole way through! I came here to thank you for your nice comments on The Movie In My Mind...and was rewarded with this! Good trade! (Stockholder talk.)

I dig this - as others have written, you keep that loop interesting the whole way through, with lots of interesting sounds and textures to carry us along

@chaitx
really solid production. you really have a lot of tricks up your sleeve to keep the loop going strong for the whole 3 mins. its definitely something i'm trying to work on myself

And, thank you for your comment on "Asleep!"

Yes, a step in the right direction is the statement! I like how you have sounds coming in and out and the filtering you did mid-way. I have one of the Kassilator's and they are great! Excellent work!

So, the turntable scratching sounds are made on your Kaoss Pad? I was wondering how I could find or create sounds like that.

I love this. So much cool motion but also friendly appealing repetition. Now I'm off in search of Peanuts samples.

The Kaos pad played out really well. You killed the interesting aspect. This bops all the way through and never feels repetitive to me. Dope stuff my guy!

Fear of repeating a section/melody/beat too much or indeed all the way thru would hold me back. But you've shown it's do-able if you do it well. Nice groove.

Man, that loop was really testing the ADHD, not going to lie. Every time I got on the edge of "ok, that's enough" something pulled me back, so mission accomplished... now I just need to deal with that progression echoing in my brain.

@cts
I like the approach of building upon the repeating loop to keep the listener engaged. @headfirstonly gave me some pointers about that a couple years ago. I hear it with this composition. I like your choice of instruments to hold the arrangement together; with the stand up bass being the centerpiece. This is definitely some groove-alicious work happening here.
Keep the party movin'!

Yup keeping interest is always the challenge, but you always manage fine, you keep that great balance! Enough same, enough different. Nice one

Cool "go with the flow" song; I had a good time just sitting back and letting it take me wherever it was going.

@gm7
You are the groove man. Love that standup base sound..cool!

Slick! Really nice production, and cool groove.

Dude, I’m bopping over here. Can’t help myself. Love it. Great flow and definitely succeeded at keeping me engaged. Bravo…
