This year I wanted to start with a video clip. Sorry for lousy movie quality (main camera was my cell phone) and for li'l mistakes and uncertainness because it wasn't easy to sing and play the dewy song (I couldn't read lyrics while playing):
recorded without any overdubs.

Der Wahnsinn in der Ecke grinst
Schon ganz normal
Die Dümmsten und die Lautesten
beherrschen das Portal

Doch ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst

Denn am Wegrand steht
nur ein alter Mann mit Hut
Da seh ich eine Katze,
die dürstet es nach Blut
Und ein anderer ohne Arm
hebt grad' seine andere Hand
Auf einmal kracht es aus den Wolken,
als bräche ein Hammer durch die Wand

Wir erkennen uns im Regen
und wir wissen, wer wir sind
Bleib gelassen
Aber halte dich bereit
Wenn der Tag vergangen ist
und die Einsamkeit dich küsst
und du spürst ganz tief in dir
Jetzt wär deine Zeit

Doch die Zeit brennt mit den Wäldern
Geldverdiener lässt das kalt
Aber nicht nur Dividende,
auch die Wasser steigen bald
Zu viele mit und ohne Plauze
finden Weitermachen toll
Nicht nur die Jüngsten haben die Schnauze
davon längst gestrichen voll

Und ich kenne eine Katze
die kennt ihn schon wirklich gut

Und eine stille Frau mit Spindel
lächelt wissend vor sich hin

Madness grinning in the corner
is a normal sight by now
The dumbest and the loudest
are in charge
The most corrupt rise to the top
and the consequences leave you speechless
My right to exist was officially denied
just like that

But I see something that you don't see
and I engage with it
But don't be afraid
It won't be that spectacular

For at the side of the road
there is but an old man with a hat on
I see a cat there
that is thirsty for blood
And one that misses an arm
is just now lifting his other hand
Suddenly there is a crashing sound from out of the clouds
as if a hammer burst through the wall

We recognise each other in the rain
and we know who we are
Stay calm
but be prepared
when the day is done
and solitude kisses you
and you feel deep down inside
now would be your time

But time is burning with the forests
Earners don't care
But not only the dividends are rising
even the oceans will do - soon
Too many bigger or smaller bellies
are keen on keeping on going
It's not only the youngest
that are fed up with that

There's an old man with a hat
at the side of the road
and I know a cat
who knows him really well

And a quiet woman with a spindle
smiles knowingly to herself
And I'd love to explain
but the wind is calling me

We recognise each other in the rain
and we know who we are
