Agenda

by @stewdean

Liner Notes

I started with a drum track and built from the bass. I used the technique of singing random words/non-words over the track to form the lyrics (a technique also used by David Byrne and others).

This is technically song 13, as I've written out the title and subject of all my songs. As it stands, the second finished.

Bass, drums (logic drummer), guitars, vocals. No synths on this one.

Lyrics

I kissed the world today,
In the eyesight of my enemy,
They will be,
Against the free,

And on the list
of complicity,
The crashes of the western sun,
We still refuse
To heal.

[Chorus 1]
So what's your agenda,
When The kids are into entropy,
Into entropy.
So what's your agenda,
Because it hurts to give you empathy,
You say you know the hurt that blinds. Oh yeah. Ha Ha.

[Verse 2]
So I'm giving up the rent,
And I'm giving up the Flavoxomine,
All that's stopping me,
Another kicking in the rib,
Another kick to give you energy.
Well I choose to prevail!
Who will soon?

[chorus 2]
So what's your agenda,
With this gift from me to you,
Give into entropy,
So what's your agenda
Because it hurts to give you empathy,
You say you know the hurt that blinds. So you say.

[part bridge]
So I hear it all again,
You're a twisted, broken entity,
As you're meant to be,

[chorus 3]
So what's your agenda,
When The kids are into entropy,
Into entropy.
And it's always always always,
Calling from the centre
We are to wipe the putrid stains - away...

This is cool! I like the descending chord progression and the running feel, and these lyrics are great (entity/meant to be as a parallel to entropy/empathy) and the lift at the end is powerful. Well done!
