4. @nateger - this song :)

@mikehex had a brilliant song that was a bit risque. But the lavish scenes of debauchery inspired me to go with money. So here is my ode to how money can buy all the happiness in the world. And hell, it can even buy a whole world if you'd like it.

Lyrics

Reading through these magazines
Awakes in me the strangest dreams
Of red wine and fancy cheese
Living in the lap of luxury

Watching all these lavish scenes
Treasures far away from me
I wish I was born in the upper crust
I wish I was like Elon Musk

Oh those happy billionaires!
So rich they could buy the air
Why must I be
A poor, schmuck nobody

Oh those happy billionaires!
So out of touch from everyone
As the planet slowly dies
They’ll fly off to Mars

Reading Elon Musk’s tweets
It all makes sense to me
If I suckle from the master’s teat
One day I could be like him

Who am I kidding, what a joke?
You either born rich or born broke
I could climb the social ladder
But it makes falling down that much harder

Oh those happy billionaires!
So rich they could buy the air
Why must I be
A poor, schmuck nobody

Oh those happy billionaires!
So out of touch from everyone
As the planet slowly dies
They’ll fly off to Mars

@nadine
What a journey from a dirty teenage dream to a criticism on capitalism. Great job on the morph. The lyrics are ace!

And the morph takes another twist! Now we are betting out the guillotine and eating the rich...or at least lamenting that we aren't one of them, haha. Your delivery of the lyrics made so many lines go down nice and easy.

@debs
Hah! I've had an interesting experience listening to this one! The first time @artie and I heard it the other day, we weren't looking at the lyrics. I caught some of them but I think I was mostly swept into the cheerfulness of the music, as well as comparing it to the last morph. But now I'm here for my second listen reading the lyrics and wow this song is really something. Love the happy go lucky feel of the whole thing (a la happy billionaires) in contrast to what you're actually saying. Whoa. Great morph! Also, I'm kind of glad we out of NSFW mode now despite myself having written one two songs ago LOL!

"You either born rich or born broke
I could climb the social ladder
But it makes falling down that much harder"
Too true.

I read a quiet seething in here, especially in the delightful melody you set these words to.

Ah yeah, really nicely done.
Same chords, same tune, and yet an oh-so-very different song.
On the surface (I guess because major chords and uke, right?) it seems bouncy and cheery... but under the surface it's pretty darn dark. No wonder Lowhum went where he went with number 6 in the chain!

So cool that you took the dream in s different direction and held on to the joyous melodic feel to the music! Great lyrics and terrific morph!

Nicely done! I declare you the Horatio Alger of this morph, you have bootstrapped it out of the gutter! :)

I love the "They'll fly off to Mars" line. The break in rhyme scheme is like the distain that such billionaires can show to the concerns and constraints of little people.

Really on the nail and highly entertaining...glad you took the ukelear option...sounds great...

Delightful! This makes me happy, if not a billionaire. And, yes, they *will* buy the air, just you wait and see...! Oh, and I invite you to add the #eattherich tag for songs with class consciousness, but only if you feel like it, of course. I look forward to checking out more from you!

great idea, well done, and plus one for using a yiddish word! in the chorus no less

@lowhum
fine irony there, can't wait to get hold on this :)

I think the ukulele sounds really great on this, I like the progression you chose. I think the lines about buying the air and flying to mats when the planet dies are really smart!
[avatar]
Loving the contrast between the upbeat cheerful sounding uke and the lyric exploring an upward looking POV of the difference between the haves and have nots. This will be fun to morph!
[avatar]
jaunty and ironic, the billionaires arent nearly as happy as they appear to be, but they sure have it better than most.

@jorh
Great imagery - yes please to the wine and cheese ha! I like the modern references you bring into the song here too. Your flow was fantastic too, I particularly enjoyed the delivery of “Who am I kidding, what a joke?
You either born rich or born broke”

Superb! Happy billionaires almost could be an
Oxymoron as well I’m sure. Completely in love with the last chorus. Great stuff
[avatar]
"Oh those happy billionaires!" is a pretty brilliant line. I wish I'd thought of it! Love the fun in your voice, too.

My favorite lines (writing and delivery):
Who am I kidding, what a joke?
You either born rich or born broke
I could climb the social ladder
But it makes falling down that much harder
[avatar]
Humble, peppy uke rhythms pair well with class-conscious lyrics!

@beacon
So happy, like the billionaires! Great ukulele plan, and I love the lyrics. Another winner!
