Lyrics

The sunlight burns
Exposing all
Everything
I hid away

Clouded mind
Troubled heart
Wondering where to even start

I'm okay
Honestly
I'm just tired
Perpetually

Sometimes feel
There's no end
No energy left to expend

Into the night I'll run away
When daylight gets too much for me
I need the quiet and the dark
And a place of solace

Into the night, come with me
We'll hide away, leave the day
Into the night we'll find our peace
Into the night, the sweet release

Feel refreshed
By the cold
By still winds
Empty sounds

By the moon
We will rest
What could be more picturesque?

This is calm
This is free
This is all
That I need

In the quiet
In the still
I can let myself rebuild

Into the night I'll run away
When daylight gets too much for me
I need the quiet and the dark
And a place of solace

Into the night, come with me
We'll hide away, leave the day
Into the night we'll find our peace
Into the night, the sweet release

Into the night I'll run away
When daylight gets too much for me
I need the quiet and the dark
And a place of solace

Into the night, come with me
We'll hide away, leave the day
Into the night we'll find our peace
Into the night, the sweet release

Lot of ground covered for an hour! :) I like the vibe overall and weirdly the instrumental bits kind of gave me Violent Femmes vibes with the bass doing more active stuff? In any case, I dig it and the visual of disappearing off into the night. 👍

Four minute mastering: The best kind! Impressive what one can achieve in an hour, I especially liked the lyrics. After listening to a couple of very gloomy takes of the skirmish before this one, this feels extra happy. As someone who enjoys nighttime in peace and quiet, this resonates with me.

@pooka
Nice powerful vocals here and some sweet guitar. Very good for something written in less than an hour.

Such a great grove and unique take on the prompt and you develop well. Great guitar solo and nice bass.

The music and arrangement fit the lyrics so well! Love the chorus. Into the night we'll find our peace. Into the night, the sweet release

Good rocker here. Using the night as refuge.
"By the moon
We will rest

Nothing I can think of!

Thanks for hosting.

wow - you got a lot done in an hour - well done!

Great arrangement. Very hooky chorus. Good job.

I like the turnaround from tired perpetually to feel refreshed by the cold. My favorite lines were:
By the moon
We will rest
What could be more picturesque?
Loved that guitar and the groove you built around it. Amazing work in such a short time.

Wow, during skirmish time to come up with such a well formed song! So cool, groovy, catchy and full of imagery. Busy night song. Love it.

Super groove and I really like the lift in the chorus, a mighty fine lyric and a mean little bass line. Once again amazed people can not only write a fine song but arrange it so well in such a short space of time 😊

Great groove. The chorus lifts off nicely. Thematically you move from the gloom of the beginning to more positive imagery towards the end in a very tasteful manner.

What a cool take on this title, I love the Into the night, come with me. Cool groove, dig the guitar and bass playing and the whole sound, well done!

I love the way to do your phrasing and rhyme scheme in the verses. How the heck did you write and play all of this in an hour. I feel like such a slacker seeing complete songs like this. Amazing!! Rock on!

Wow. How great to manage to write such a finished feeling piece so quickly. It got me up and moving around. I liked the arc from needing to run away alone to inviting a companion. Thanks for hosting.

Cool groove! I'm chair-dancing :) I like the contrast between the verbally sparse verses and the denser chorus. And that drum fill! Nice.

Definitely getting The Killers vibes from this one. Love the chorus and your bass line throughout.

Nice intro. I started thinking you were writing a vampire song, but it isn't and it didn't need to be. Good lyrics. Good little bass solos and outro too.

well fleshed out in the time!
the chorus really hits
