Towards Tomorrow

Liner Notes

My contribution to the instrumental fake it challenge (https://write.fawm.org/forums/2056). I feel like there can be so much more interplay between the piano, guitar and bass, but I've put way too much time into it already and need to move onto something else.

Really great guitar playing in this intro. I like how it locks together with the piano. Very expressive playing. Everything sounds really human (all live playing with real instruments?) . There is a really cool looseness (I don't mean that in a bad way). Really cool movement in the song. Everything sounds really natural. Really love this.

This is awesome! Not sure what’s going on musically, technically I mean, but I love it! I take it those are real drums? They sound very real if not! Love this a lot.

Very nice. Reminds me a little of early Pink Floyd, but more adventurous harmonically. Great playing!

This was a pleasant and fun listen. The interplay works for me, but then experimenting is always a good thing.

There might be something here to use for our three way collab...

I like the proggy vibes here. I did a progrock radio show back in grad school and this one took me back. I do enjoy how different these are from each other. Especially love the part where the drums crescendo.

What a cool concept and story. I like the instrumentation.
Most of the song is 6/8 isn't it? Or am I just bad at counting,

I heard Jon Anderson and Richard Thompson singing ...I swear I did. Love the momentum and dynamacy

fifteen seconds in and I love it--and it just gets better and better- sounds like the middle of a 1969 version of 'dark star' by the grateful dead (with members of jefferson airplane sitting in) where they came across some bach piece and turned it into a san francisco ode to hippie living! digested it whole...(ha, too cinematic and literal?)

this is really accomplished and melodic and inventive! I love it!

Beautiful. Inventive, too. Amazing how differently these are all turning out. Not just in instrumentation but in concept.

I love the flow of this song and more great chord changes in this one!
