@nadine
Hey, please check your mail. Important update!

@lowhum
This is what I came up with - feel free to change whatever doesn't sound or seem meaningful in German. Hab Spass!

mein name ist heute Gertrude
und heute bin ich ziemlich müde
meine Genossen sind grosser
als antarktische Albatrosse

Ich probiere nur einz
und mein dunkler bf heisst Heinz
vielleicht hast du ihn gelesen
er liest besser, er ist Mayonnaise

keine Gedanken, keine Bange

Are you up for a German Collab? I will scribble some Deutsch by tonight and I have a placeholder, was sagst du?

I now I just did see: Thx for comments also on "Big Cinema part 5". I know who to contact about REAL guitars on this one. No hint. Hehe. You are in my mind if this song find it`s audience in the future. Have a great springtime!
[avatar]
Thx again for comments! This fawm went to fast.... I sure missed listening more to others this year. I`ll be better.
[avatar]
You mean the GUILD bass, right? ;) I wouldn't mind having a Gibson Ripper though! I've acquired a nice collection of gear over something like 25 years and vintage Guilds are my favorite guitars.

@amelea
Thanks for reminding me about that song! (6 More Weeks Til You Can Kiss Her) It was the beginning of fawm so feels like a long time ago... yet it still hasn't been 6 weeks, darn
[avatar]
Thank you for your always kind comments
[avatar]
Hey, thanks for checking out our meter maid song, and the Peter Gabriel comp is just amazing to hear! I will look out for your version.
[avatar]
Yeah - I still do love the bassoon, but it's nowhere near as versatile, nor portable, as the clarinet, which I now play. It would also be at least a couple of grand to get a playable bassoon, which is too much for something I doubt I'd use much.
[avatar]
Hey thanks for your comment on Witch in the Woods! I def think a video is in order!
[avatar]
@nadine
Ich würde lieber noch etwas warten bevor ich dich rausziehe. Man weiß nie ob so kurz vor Schluss noch jemand ausfällt...
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you! It's been a quick skirmish write, nothing serious. Didn't plan to start a song as I still wait for 2-3 ideas coming back from collaborators :)
[avatar]
Glad you were able to feel the 80s love!

@beacon
Thanks for the note and the article about how to record a dulcimer. Just FYI, because you had quotation marks (") after the link the FAWM site picks that up as part of the URL and I got a 404 error. I'm made this mistake also! I think it's a bug in the programming.
[avatar]
@oddbod
Correct! It is from the Jungle Book👍🏻😁

@nadine
😍

@nadine
Haha! Eurovision leider etwas zu spät, aber das Angebot mit dem Video steht noch. Ich brauch nur noch 30 LARPer.... und ne Kamera und Licht und Stative 🤣
[avatar]
I see your demo right there on top of this box but I'm NOT clicking it!
[avatar]
@sollis
Thanks for taking a listen to my tracks and leaving some kind words!

There's a fair bit of slidey finger stuff 'Honey', but no actual slide guitar sadly. I wish I could play slide guitar well enough for it to be usable! Usually I just end up wobbling the slide around while I struggle to find any actual in-tune notes!
[avatar]
Okay, no problem. I'll get some lyrics tu you in the next few days :) Adapting to full time work and FAWM ĹOL.
[avatar]
I should have asked, do you want to send me a track and I'll put lyrics to it? I can't remember how we worked together lol!!
[avatar]
@nadine
The bass on "Glimpse" came earlier than expected. I've updated the song.
[avatar]
Thanks! Desperate is a perfect word to describe my vocal delivery when I have to go to the upper limits of my range. Sometimes I feel it's a bit too much but that's the way I sound like.

As for Almost Made It To The Surface the name of the track (in my mind) is a reference to the songs mood change - how the more upbeat section manages to emerge from the bleak piano passage only to succumb back to the shadows in the end. It's definitely a track I've grown to like more and more.
[avatar]
Thanks for checking out Glimpse, always a blast working with Nadine!
[avatar]
I'll send you something within 24 hours. Thanks ... excited to work with you again.
[avatar]
@nadine
I'm glad you enjoyed "Glimpse". Thanks for your comment! We're 80% done with the recording, we will add a bass and some background vocals.
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind words on Ride It Out and Thank You, It’s True, reading them made me so happy!
[avatar]
hi there, thanks so much for replying re: guitar recording. You're a star! (in more ways than one!)
[avatar]
Thanks. Yes, Working on an Arctic night could be a good one to do!
[avatar]
Hi, I see that we got paired up in this sound of Random Collaborations. Looking forward to collaborating with you! I'll think about possible lyrics, but let me know if there's any particular theme, genre, etc that you'd be particularly interested in?

Thank you for your nice comments

The bass is my Ibanez RG9-BK. The strings on it haven't been changed in a couple of years (they are expensive; the bottom c# string ON ITS OWN is £20) but I can still get life out of them with a pick.
[avatar]
Thanks, try my link now... and let me know. It worked for me.
[avatar]
Ha! I would but am recovering from major surgery at the moment so not up to playing a wind instrument! I hope others will add music! If not I may come back to it later in the month.
[avatar]
Have a good FAWM.
[avatar]
Re: Video challenge

We should probably work out who's going to do what. I can do pretty much anything. But if I'm playing the drums I'll have to book time at the studio where the drumkit is at, so that might take me a little longer.
[avatar]
@clioem
Hey there! happy FAWM!
[avatar]
@nadine
Haha nee passt schon ^^
[avatar]
@nadine
Lol dieses Bild!
[avatar]
Hey Stephan! Happy Fawm :)
[avatar]
@cts
You, my friend, are very much appreciated. Happy FAWMing. Let's get it!
[avatar]
@crisp1
Good to see you back again, Stephan! Have a fantastic FAWM!
[avatar]
Hey Stephan. Hope you have a great Fawm
[avatar]
@fuzzy
Hey!!
I hope you have a great February!!
[avatar]
Hi Stephan! Schön, dich hier wiederzutreffen! Hab einen inspirierten Februar!
[avatar]
"Hi there, the description of your Frankenstein drum samples monster kit sounds amazing."

Yeah, those are the perks of working in a rehearsal studio. The downside is that I'm really just a glorified aircon tech. :)
[avatar]
@nadine
Jetzt bin ich neugierig: Wozu braucht man einen D Tuner. Ich dachte du stimmt einfach runter und musst ggf Einstellung wg geringerer Saitenspannung ändern 🤔
[avatar]
@chroes
Hello and happy FAWMing!
[avatar]
Welcome back!!! Happy FAWMing! :)
[avatar]
Great to see you again. As ever, you are welcome to any lyric of mine that tempts you,
[avatar]
Good to see you! I think the Bathroom Clothesline Bass will be deployed this February once again :-)

@nadine
Moin! Happy FAWM :)
