Going Nowhere

Challenge: PALINDROME

Liner Notes

We took the palindrome as inspiration and incorporated it as a couple of chord sequences that play the same either way around, thematic prompts for the lyrics and a literal reversal of @oatst’s recorded vocals.

You can also flip the entire piece (which I’ve entitled Going Nowhere Backwards) and it’s almost the same. If I’d only used a truly palindromic song structure…

Recorded as a combination of direct to Logic on the iPad and WhatsApp voice memos.

Lyrics

Through the warp and the weft
Order and chaos
We are back were we left
Rise and fall

Changed of season
We return one and all
No need for reason
As we float on a ball

Shimmy shimmy ya!

Thanks everyone!

This works really well. I particularly like the slightly unexpected return of non-reversed vocals near the end. Good work chaps!

I like your approach to this challenge! I thought the elements you chose felt intentional and came together well. Thanks for giving the background info! 🐸

Thanks for the liner notes, without them I wouldn’t have gotten the reversed audio. Nice take on the challenge!
