Komorebi

Liner Notes

#postrock tune. It's a bit derivative but I like it. It's called Komorebi, a Japanese word for light filtering through trees.

Just the synth sound but almost got a bit of Vangelis from the beginning swirls, lovely. Those crystal opening chords are lovely too. Then the arpeggio, then the next layer! An onion musicbox.

I'm not sure the idea of something being derivative/original is very meaningful; I'm not sure it is possible to make music that isn't a unique expression. But they are unique expressions that are built using a shared language of conventions. What am I saying? Not sure. But this sounds great to me, and needs to apology.

That snare pattern around the 2:00 mark is nuts, very interesting.

Like the production very much on this, but really it's the emotions this evokes in me that I'm enjoying the most; there's something delicately beautiful coupled with a confidence. I may not be making sense! Very nice though.

I enjoyed this, I think you captured the inspiration for it really well - I could imagine a camera panning through a forest and the different levels of light matching the intensity of the music. I don’t really listen to any post rock so it doesn’t sound derivative to me.
Sorry I missed the two songs you’ve posted more recently, hopefully will have a bit more time to listen now it’s half term.

The name of the song is wonderfully fulfilled by the intro. This is a really cool and beautiful song. Good job!
