Lyrics

Despite the Rain

I'm smiling still, despite the rain
as I inhale the forest air
and water falls like scattered stone
drifting to my dreams again

A weight is pressing round my heart
you see demons haunting me
but I see darker things twisting you
Love can save us, we both know

Someday we'll be two old friends,
drinking tea on someone's lawn
I remember talking like that,
years ago, before the rain.

The first verse is quite magical. Your ethereal performance is like a pictoresque misty evening. You really have a knack for this song writing stuff!

Right now I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to sit here listening to your music. Thanks to your friend for nudging you towards FAWM and I really hope you enjoy your time here, because your music is *incredible*.
Your lyrics are weighted with such truth and your delivery is so beautifully measured that it's impossible not to just sit and close your eyes for a couple of minutes and listen. Wonderful stuff.

Very beautiful emotional song 🎵 ❤️ with meaningful lyrics and gorgeous music. Your singing is strikingly beautiful, haunting and powerful. The complexity of feeling due to losing someone dear and trying to hold on to hope regardless the situation are all expressed in a beautiful and dignified way with power and grace. Love ❤️ your song, singing and playing. Very special work.

Beautiful vocals and perfect low-key guitar drenched with reverb that fits your dark, descriptive lyrics perfectly. Really sets a poignant mood that makes me feel the rain and forest. I love the vagueness of your lyrics, which probably paints a different scene for each listener. Very nice!

Nice guitar, gorgeous singing, really poetic lyrics. Great effort! If I may, I would suggest dialing back the vocal reverb a hair. It's actually hiding the beauty of your voice IMHO. Perhaps add a little compressor to bring up the quiets and soften the louds? Just my 2 cents
