Triple Agent Man

Liner Notes

Having a slow start trying to think of songs to write but I had this title idea in my head for months, inspired by social media addicts who navigate through other people's breakups while remaining loyal to everybody, or perhaps nobody, it's hard to tell.

I wrote and recorded the music first because all along I wanted to sort of rip off Johnny Rivers and the 60s spy movie stuff because it seemed like it would be fun. I really took my time producing the music while I thought about words. I could have made it entirely in response to things happening in the news but just wanted to keep it more general.

I wrote the words earlier today and sang it in one take hoping to upload it but I had some technical issues and had to get to another thing (I hate when other things interrupt FAWM time). So just got home and made some minor adjustments to the mix and here it is....

Lyrics

The Triple Agent Man really knows how to leave his mark

No fear in broad daylight, and even less after dark
He can cast his shadow without really ever being seen
He can write and perform his way out of any scene

Triple Agent Man

Triple Agent Man
Triple Agent Man

He can forage in the forest on roots, berries and bark
Wine & dine with some hungry cannibals & swim with the sharks
He’s got a vape pen for every possible mood of the day
So cosmopolitan he even carries his own Ocean Spray

Triple Agent Man

Triple Agent Man
Triple Agent Man

He can alert the authorities without ever being pinned as a narc

He brought plenty of marshmallows when they roasted Joan of Arc
He can take all sides with out revealing his own
He can even trim a government down to the bone

Triple agent man brings enough marshmallows when they toasted Joann of Arc. That’s impressive. So much to love here. Love the 60s vibe and surf guitar. Glad you are back at it Joe. Really cool one.

A Joe zong! Right when I need it. Love the dirty guitar in this, along with the rest of this surf and James Bond-kind of soundtrack you have going on here. But the lyrics...hilarious. I don't even know which ones to quote. Maybe that whole second verse and "he brought plenty of marshmallows when they roasted Joan of Arc." And "he can alert the authorities without ever being pinned as a narc." Sounds like this was a blast to write and record. Fun to listen to as well.
