So, here's my annual tune in 6/8 time. Thanks for listening... I'm going to bed.

Lyrics

07 Auxiliary Power Unit

The plans we made did not work out
We thought too much and we yelled too loud
The words got stuck there in my mouth
So I tossed and turned all night til now

The birds are singing and the sun shines bright
Reminds me that there’s still a light
So I hope our hearts don’t freeze tonight
Wake up at dawn, a good fight to fight

Resplendent future, tomorrow we will make
Transcendent daydreams, amazed by the breath that we take
Unencumbered by the mistakes that were made
Circumventing the rulers who threaten the blade

Many rebel songs have not been sung
And these beats stack up there by the ton
We’ve wasted time and that time is gone
But this war’s not over, we’re far from done

So follow me, follow me, down down down
And we’ll turn around that scary frown
No procrastination let’s do it now
War paint on our face, let’s paint the town

i like how the percussion track fits with the song. nice phrases 'rulers who threaten the blade' 'beats stack up by the ton' and the paint/paint dual use.
i like the melody on 'breath that we take'

Great energy in this. Sounds like Flogging Molly. Also 6/8 and the word "procrastination" always get points from me. I think the production worked really well too.

Great job. I love the idea of punk violin (do you know Gogol Bordello?). Powerful message and a great 6/8 driving rhythm. Love it!

Oh the chorus hits hard while still being beautiful. And yes, you nailed the combination of punk and strings!
