I wrote this as a poem and thought it might work well enough as a spoken word piece. Those who are fond of 𝘍𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴 may find it resonates with them.

I've lost count of the number of cats my auntie has. Every time I go to her house there appears to be a new one. I swear they breed like... well, like cats, I suppose.

I like cats
I think they're really soft
There's a cat in the house
And a cat in the loft

There's a cat in the garden
A cat on the stairs
There's a cat over here
And a cat over there

There's a cat in the cupboard
A cat in my bed
There's a cat on my back
A cat on my head

There's a cat in the pocket
Of my favourite pyjamas
These creatures are everywhere
That's cats, not llamas*

There's a cat in Costa
Where I get my bad coffee
When I'm in the kitchen
There's a cat in the toffee

There's a cat in my bag
(Though I'm not quite sure how)
I think there's a cat
Under your chair right now

There's a cat in the pennies
A cat in the pounds
There's a cat in the corner
Every time I turn 'round

And I'm ever so happy
That I'm not a mouse
There are so many cats here
In my auntie's house
