Liner Notes

I started my AmeriCorps field work this week, which means I have been outside appreciating the beauty of winters in the Puget Sound. Wrote this song as a sort of love letter to the place I get to call home <3

My voice is a little rough in this since my allergies have been horrid this week, but I'm sleepy and wanna go to bed, so this recording will have to do haha c:

Lyrics

When it's foggy and the sound of the bridge horn, it carries,
On each wave of the atmospheric river,
The city has yet to awake from its slumber,
On a bleak, midwinter Seattle dawn.

The times are changing,
Little of old ways remaining.

There's potholes and cracks in the asphalt,
Remnants of winters not so long passed,
The city will take its time righting its wrongs,
And the mist will fade into a bright blue new day.

The times are changing,
Little of old ways remaining.

The spring will come and the birds will sing,
Their lyrics floating on the morning dew,
Their voices tell of the emerald city,
And the hopes for the reawakening.

The times are changing,
Little of old ways remaining.

I like how you take your time delivering the verses. The way the melody of the chorus rises is really unexpected, and uplifting! All in all really nice setting, observation and commentary of a place and time.
