Liner Notes

This is what we might call a waiting-for-tango song. I have a story series called Waiting for Tango, which are short stories written about experiences I had while waiting for tango class. It was written at More Brewing Company in Villa Park, Illinois, across the street from Strut Dance Studio, where I was going to have a tango lesson. And yes, there is a short story written here as well. Yesterday, I rewrote most of it and decided to see what would happen if I put it on a 12-bar blues progression.
Lastly, I have a number of songs that are predicated on ideas found in "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost.
I'll try to record this in the next few days.

The Road Less Traveled

Intro [E7] [A7] [B7]
Verse 1
[E7] It’s the road less traveled
The one that takes you home
[A7] When you’re sitting alone
At a bar where you don’t [E7] belong
[B7]You try to find the words
But they [A7] left you long ago
[E7] [B7]

Chorus
[E7] It’s the road less traveled
The one that takes you home
[A7]The road less traveled
Sitting all alone[E7]
[B7]Cause the road less traveled’s
[A7] Not as easy as one last pour
[E7] [B7]

Verse 2
[E7] I hand my heart to the barkeep
So she can put it on ice
[A7] I don’t think I’m gonna need it
It ain’t worth the price
[B7]But We can thaw it out later
[A7] If you walk in tonight
[E7] [B7]

Chorus
Verse 3
[E7] The dog in the corner
Gives me a knowing look
[A7] Because it’s time to go home
If I can find the door[E7]
[B7] ‘cause you the road less traveled
[A7] is the one that takes you home
[E7] [B7]
Verse 4
[E7] The bourbon and the beer
Feels alright to me
[A7] And when trying to forget
the bitters complete the scene[E7]
[B7] but you’re still on my mind
[A7] so I’ll have just one more drink
[E7] [B7]

Chorus
Verse 5
[E7] I’m going home to Chicago
If I can find the way
[A7] Going on home now
Cause they won’t let me stay[E7]
[B7] Let the sound of the city
[A7] Show me the way
[E7] [B7]

@rockstarsmd Thanks. Yeah, I'm still playing with it. And since it is a blues song, someone is going to want a guitar solo.

Some really good lines throughout the lyric... Might be a bit long, though, IMHO. Perhaps a little editing to distill it down to the essence...? Just my $0.02. Keep up the good work!
