She Was Love

Liner Notes
My mom is in the end stages of Alzheimer’s. It’s been a tough road I know a lot of others have had to travel. I am SO ready to celebrate her and revel in what she has meant to me and will always mean to me. I apologize if I offend anyone by referring to my mom in the past tense when she is still physically with us. It is out of the utmost respect for a dear soul who loved, and is loved, so fully.
Songwise, I was a little shocked that it clocked in at 3:42. I’m more of a 2:42 guy. Hope it doesn’t drag too much.
Lyrics
I’ll always hear the sound of her voice
It’s going to be ok
I’ll always feel the touch of her hand
That always made me feel safe
She was love
In so many ways
She was love
She could always ease the pain
Heart of compassion showing the way
She was love
Every single day
It wasn’t the bandaid that made my knee feel better
It was a mom who cared
Whatever the problem whatever the reason
It didn’t matter
She was always there
She was love
In so many ways
She was love
Gentle healing grace
Heart of compassion showing the way
She was love
Every single day
So many notes in a masterful symphony Blending together
to make beautiful art
Time, effort, devotion and tenderness
Made the gift that she gave to our hearts
She was love
In so many ways
She was love
She could always ease the pain
Heart of compassion showing the way
She was love
Every single day
Every single day
