Pronouns: Haven't found pronouns that fit me. They/them will do.

I don't go in knowing what sort of songs I'll be writing, and I usually come out with a pretty #eclectic mix. I write #lyrics and #melody, sometimes with a little #vocal-harmony. Or I make #chiptune songs using #beepbox. I don't play any instruments, and haven't had much luck combining electronic backing tracks with #vocals. I get lonely if not singing together with someone else's singing or playing.

Music influences: As a small child I listened to the #oldies station, #folk music for #children, and #broadway. I was also taught a lot of #oldtime #americana types of songs in the oral tradition. I spent a lot of time squished into the backseat of a non-air-conditioned car with my siblings, and the best way to keep things harmonious was with literal harmony. The go-to was usually a #round, but we also enjoy a #free-for-all where everyone sings different songs at the same time, sometimes joining in with what someone else is singing or riffing off it if one song reminds you of another. In the late '90s and early 2000s I was listening to the #alternative station. I was also in several choirs during that time, so I learned a lot of traditional #latin-language #choral music, a lot of #vocaljazz, and a bit of #barbershop, #gospel, #experimental sheet music, and all kinds of other things. My grandfather introduced me to #gilbert-and-sullivan. Around 2008 I joined the steampunk subculture, and became a founding member of my local steampunk group, so naturally I had to look into #steampunk music. These days I find music through the internet: if there's a genre that sounds interesting from the description or that songs I already like belong to, I listen to it to see what I think. I love #filk, #punk, #metal, #celtic, #nerdcore, #arenarock, #dark-musicbox. Especially genres that combine traditional (folk, #classical, #music-hall) with modern (#hard_rock, #techno), like #electro-swing, #chap-hop, #celtic-punk.

It's fine by me if I get a songwriting credit as Brad Brubaker.

I think my reaction of "wild and frenetic" may also have to do with trying to wade through mountains of papers looking for the forms that we need to do my brother-in-law's taxes.....The process in enough like an anxiety dream, that I might be projecting. Either way, it's really interesting to hear the different kinds of things you like doing....

Hey

Glad you find “music for health” inspiring

Answering your question , it can evolve to music part of there are any foundation , the reason I focused on lyrics part because of “talk therapy” which can be easily translated to lyrics if we could collaborate with talk therapist and focus on treating certain disorder , then from this cornerstone I am sure we will get many inspirations for music, then we may test and offer to the patient listening to the song as part of their treatment and therapist can inform us how effective it was , then through trial and error we may come up with it original theories for this new music genre and what its criteria that make it turn to healing power, then publish a book sharing knowledge , and viola !! We just made major positive change to the world :D , so this is my vision in long term :)

Oh, fantastic, thanks for the chip-tips!

I think you may be right. Whatever. This is the thing where if folks aren't going to be interested in listening to my stuff, I'm just as happy if they can't even see it.

We'll see what happens next year. If I were to add an instrument to my songs the (admittedly imperfect) transcription wouldn't work. So, we'll see if next year I can diversify the liner notes and drop the lyrics for some of the songs.

I think next year I'm going to always bust my own zongs, though. At first I was just commenting "." but that felt a little depressing. Now, I find it is fun to comment on them the same way I'd comment on someone else's song.

...hey! - thank you for the info - please do not stress yourself; if you decide to stick with the first recording please check if you could upload the 'WAV'-file (i only have some mp3) so i can use that for the final mix...

Hi! Just want to make sure you know you're up in Auntie Sin Chain B.
[avatar]
I loved the little recording you made of Stephen Wordsmith's Signature Song. Did you just improvise that? Lovely

I look forward to hearing your Phrygian Purple song!

What a great book to have for the skirmish.

Very cool that you're in the Sacramento area too! You asked am I a member of the Sacramento Steampunk Society or the League of Proper Villains? No, I'm just admiring steampunk from afar. You're a founding member? Wow, impressive!

Here is a dropbox link where you can deposit your larger file.

Let me know if this doesn't work. Sometimes it nees me to approve you and then you get access.

If this is too much difficulty, don't worry about it. I'll just do my best with it.

I understand, I have been able to filter out some of the noise. I think if you send a .wav file of your singing (uncompressed file) then the filtering won't distort your voice as much.
I think I have enough of just the room noise to use to try to filter that. The problem is that some of the frequencies being filtered are in the same range as your voice. the mp3 has already reduced the amount of info in the track so when I apply the filter I lose too much of your vocal character. The uncompressed file should help with that.

Hi, I got the melody recording. I love the melody, but the recording has a lot of background noise that I can't seem to filter out. It's a sound like a fan or some kind of wind.
The mp3 format will be ok. But the noise is going to be a big problem. I'll keep working on it on my end, but a cleaner recording would be the best option.

…hey! - i received your email ref. Song 6 and forwarded you a few of the emails that were exchanged - they should get you up to date about what is going on; if you have questions, please ask…
[avatar]
Hi, I don't see an email listed for you. I am the stitcher for the A Capella song 5. When you get your track made please send it as a .wav file to me. and Happy FAWMing!

…thank you for the suggestion regarding the character-limit in the profile: yes, you are correct about how the links could be shortenend, but: apart from putting information for possible visitors in my profile those links work for me a ‘bookmarks’ to quickly jump from one place where they are all collected to the end(!) of the threads where the messages are that i have not read yet; jumping just to the thread and then having to scroll down a hundred messages every time is tedious…
[avatar]
…hi again - regarding the email: we now have a busy exchange in the ‘Song 6’-group between all the members - we received the first suggestion for lyrics - and there is some information (like how we are going to upload our files to a space i provide) that should not be shared publicly (passwords and such) - so it would be great if you could provide a working email-address…
[avatar]
...hey - we're together in the 'A Capella 4 Track Challenge' - i am the last Rolle 'Stitcher' and will send you an email soon - please check also your SPAM-folder as i had feedback that my emails like it rather there than in the regular Inbox...
[avatar]
Thanks for checking! It should be the same as all of the other choruses - so deep within me…. Or remove me from “within me” for the rest of the last lines of the chorus… whichever you feel brings poignancy to the melody you are creating! ☺️
[avatar]
Hi, i posted the lyrics for you as a locked song… I think you should be able to see it!
[avatar]
Hi, please let me know how to send you my lyrics for the 4-track acapella challenge - they are ready for music!
