Hi, I'm Travis. I make most of my music with my production partner @nahlej381. Hated the semi DAWless setup. Going back in the box.

@brisk
Good call on the chorus in Choices, Choices. @n24 pointed out the piano was causing a bit of a rhythmic snarl up there, and I'm guessing that your discomfort with the vocals may be related to that - I'm planning to sort that out by simplifying the chords a little, and maybe rerecord the vocals in non-whispery-late-night-don't-wake-the-children mode. Thanks for the comment - I really love it when people have suggestions, I think it can really help my songs so I'm really grateful.
[avatar]
@seb
Glad you liked! By chorus you mean the high regsiter Vox part?
Im down to collab before 50/90 if you wanna. Let me know if you wanna connect further and chat on Zoom some? Curious to learn about your music path and experience
[avatar]
@seb
Posted the collab tune. Lemme know!
[avatar]
@seb
Workin' the collab. Wont have time to add that much bc last day but Ill post, cool? :)
[avatar]
Ta for those lovely words about “moon and back” 😀
[avatar]
thanks so much for the comments! I think you found me out re:Skinny Puppy et al. I used to roam aimlessly in the forest listening to Mind T.P.I. on a cassette walkman. I highly recommend that to anyone.
[avatar]
Thanks for listening and your kind comments on 1971 Census. I am also a New Order fan and over the last year I’ve watched a lot of their recent and older concerts on YouTube. Never really thought of my music being similar and take it as a high compliment!
[avatar]
Lol on the champagne comment. Thanks so much for listening!
[avatar]
RE: Pitch Correction. I am happy to know I probably don't need this, and I'm going to turn it off. Now, I just need to figure out what keys, besides C and G I can sing in, and be okay? Thanks again for your helpful feedback!
[avatar]
Fateful Findings is my favorite, but all his films are worth a watch. They are loaded with WTF moments that still get me after multiple viewings. I could watch this actress staring straight into the camera and trying to hold it together at 1:40 all day https://youtu.be/YXbG7nMECSg

Thanks for the comments, I really need to start forcing myself to let the VOX be louder.
[avatar]
Hey, you probably see it already, but I started a private song with the lyrics, beat and a nasty demo. Have a look, get a feel and I'll update when I've got VOX ready.
[avatar]
@seb
Got it, will work on it weekend!
[avatar]
Hey man, I was working on a thing with @vadellgabriel that originally started as something for the fake genre #shiphop, (hip hop sea shantys) but never really became that. He's got 1:30 of a nice new jack style beat with a twist of p-funk and I think I can comp together a sing-rap version of my lyrics.

Any chance you would be interested in taking the parts and pulling it together into a complete piece?
[avatar]
@gslade
first one is in your inbox
[avatar]
I appreciate your faithful listens and second-to-none feedback. Thank you!
[avatar]
@gslade
loading beats now.. what are the bpm's? also if you wanna email me you can gslademailbox@gmail.com - unless you prefer chatting here..lol
[avatar]
@gslade
Noice. I'm on it.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your comments. The sloth experiment was fun!
[avatar]
@gslade
one more tidbit on the bunz song...there's actually no kick drum in the song at all...it's doubled up toms played on the mpk mini...just fun fact I think
[avatar]
@gslade
by the way..I'm off all week until Monday so it's prime time if you want to collab on something...
[avatar]
@gslade
you should have seen me playing that keyboard solo on tismMON Bunz..I'm sure I looked insane...bouncing around while trying to keep my hands on the keyboard...didn't quantize shiot...lol..it's a raw one take that I kept for the funz
[avatar]
@seb
Because your tunes are so complete and well produced, Im not sure what to ask for or send you. Git us started with something? :)
Also, check out my triphop wanna be new tune i posted. 😂. Gimme some pointers? 😂
[avatar]
Hey Travis, keep 'em coming with the tracks, haha. Thank you too!
[avatar]
Thanks for supporting the work I do! It means a lot!
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind comments on "Wolves!" I'm glad you can "hear" the Foo Fighters vision for it as well.
[avatar]
@artie
YES!! My Wesley Willis bredren. The easter egg was a bit obscure, so I edited the liner notes in case you missed it. Sounds like we're on a similar wavelength. I love it! Please shoot me an email at some point so we can keep making music after FAWM.
[avatar]
@sollis
Thanks for such kind words on 'Honey', Travis! Made me smile :)

Really enjoyed 'Hazy Room/Lost In Thought' by the way!
[avatar]
I appreciate your support of my vocal songs. I think I have a lot to say. :)
[avatar]
You’ve got the greatest titles! I’ve been cruising through your instrumentals and enjoying them all.
[avatar]
@andrea
Thanks for checking out Dank Swank. Glad you enjoyed it. Del did an amazing job :)
[avatar]
@amelea
Thanks for checking out Kill Switch! Lol explosions, so punk rawk
[avatar]
Thanks so much for listening to the past 10 tracks! I am loving FAWM and I appreciate your support. Love your music as well! :)
[avatar]
@seb
Ill have a listen to your tunes again to fig out :)
[avatar]
I like Splice! If I were into samples, I'd definitely subscribe again. Companies like SoundCloud and Splice have DOUBLED their rates in the last short while. I'm not sure if server costs have gone up or what. But, these types of companies are charging an awful lot these days.
[avatar]
Thank you for your comment on "God is the Bigger Elvis." After I bounced it and played it back, I thought, "Oh, no, that Kick is way too loud." And then I thought about how it really had something to say and left it that way. :)
[avatar]
hey man, thanks for listening and following my album, really appreciated :O)
[avatar]
@seb
If you have time to collab, whats your preferred approach? Im game !
[avatar]
@amelea
Thanks for checking out Stop Sneaking Up Behind me! Good to know my vocal performance can be described as spooky hahah
[avatar]
Thanks for those great comments…I’m a big Elvis Costello fan, so I loved that!
[avatar]
@gslade
Trap away!
[avatar]
Thank you for the kind words on Massive! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
[avatar]
Thanks for the very kind words! much appreciated
[avatar]
I'm so glad you liked Always You. That "swoon vibe" really captured what I had in mind with those lyrics. Thanks for listening and letting us know you liked it.
[avatar]
@gslade
Thanks for all the feedback. Throw a beat my way and I'll drop some verses.
[avatar]
@amelea
So glad you like the Sooo (Many Girls) chorus, that was way too fun to sing haha
[avatar]
Hi Travis, Thanks for your kind comments on my songs. I seem to be creating pretty good earworms at the moment! Cheers.
[avatar]
@jeff9
Mighty nice of you to have a listen and send such a nice comment about Always You. Thanks very much.
[avatar]
@fuzzy
No worries.
It's on the tour.
[avatar]
@fuzzy
Ah, the second-tier seminar experience!
We will send one of our luxurious limousine helicopters to fetch you at your home, you will be given a five room suite in our Sub-Level Three guest facilities for the week, and you will have unlimited access to the casino and the all-day hot buffet tables down on Sub-Level Four.
[avatar]
@sollis
Thanks for taking the time to listen to my songs and leaving such kind words! And hats off to you for your incredibly fruitful FAWM so far!
[avatar]
@fuzzy
You're welcome for the bass thing.
I always find it's good to embrace the rest of the sounds in a nice warm bass hug.
That's the kind of insider tip I give during my intensive week-long seminar entitled "Making Music The Fuzzy Sound Labs Way". Other topics include; "How To Prepare A Piano", "The Value of Terrorizing Your Audience With Sonic Feedback", and "Ambient Music - Is It Only For Nerds?".
I usually charge $7000 dollars per person for the seminar, but for you?
Free. 😀
[avatar]
Thank you for all the comments on my tracks, means a lot!
[avatar]
@esc4p3
Thanks for all your comments on my tracks, really appreciated 👍
[avatar]
Glad you liked my song Brain Scan. I guessed the film would be a horror film. Not my genre at all 😳
[avatar]
@fuzzy
Congrats on the win!
[avatar]
Mmmmmmmmm....Great underlying track and teamwork. Super fun.
[avatar]
Thx a lot for comments on "Tricky" !!!
[avatar]
Glad we got the Delorean off the ground man!
[avatar]
Hey, thank you so much for all your cool comments on my songs this FAWM! So appreciated!
[avatar]
Tried sending you an email w/ Vox for DD.
[avatar]
No way…How could I make such a mistake. Hilarious…
[avatar]
@andrea
Thank you for your kind comments on Forevermore. I appreciate it :)
[avatar]
Travis, you look just like Baretta?
[avatar]
Thanks for the tip about #fawmtronica , I was wondering about that tag. Will def add it to my tracks! Last fawm I wasn't too active on the site, so I'm really grateful this time around that I get to interact with the community more and that I'm taking more time to listen to other people's work. It's been a great experience so far and you and the other creators in this niche have given me a lot of inspiration.
[avatar]
Thanks for all the support and helpful critiquing of my songs.
[avatar]
Thx just added it!
[avatar]
Just coined the tag #swamptronica
[avatar]
Thx for the comments on new dark age! You’re right I think it’s more swamp-rockfish than rockabilly. Couldn’t think of the term. good call.
[avatar]
@fuzzy
Yeah, David Lynch is great.
[avatar]
@artie
Thanks for dropping that comment on Minsk. I’m really excited to spit over top of your song, unfortunately it requires a bit more breath control than the goofy shit I’m putting out. Still under the weather here.
[avatar]
@fuzzy
" You sir are the king of the headphone mix."
Wow, thanks, this means a lot to me!
Putting together a quality headphone mix is actually the part of the music-making process that takes the most time. Usually far longer than the actual recording.
One of my absolute mixing rules - the bass always goes on the outside, near the edges.
[avatar]
Just stopping by to say sorry if I seem to be stealing all the thunder in Things Obscured. I wish there was more comment love about the sensational track you created there. Thank you so much for all the comment love and encouragement too. Really appreciated. Hugs.
[avatar]
Lol on the vacation slides. I was peeking into the adult’s world when I noticed them. My mother turned her slides into photos but they’re all backyards - lol! Thanks so much for the listen!
[avatar]
Damn dude, I wanted to be Mike Shinoda when I was a kid so that comment means a lot. Thanks again.
[avatar]
Thank you, my friend. You helped make the magic people needed. That's a ripple. Don't stop making ripples.
[avatar]
RE: Kaoss Pad 3... It works well. You guys got quite the duo going there. Keep on!!
[avatar]
Fuck, that makes me want it even more!
[avatar]
I so appreciate your comment, thanks and go well
[avatar]
Thank you for your very kind comments! I checked out some of your collabs the other day. I'm really digging them and they inspired me to do something more focused on hip hop. And wow, you guys have got a lot of tracks so far. Keep up the great work! 😀
[avatar]
@cjk
You wanted to hear "Don't leave me hanging", I only have the lyrics yet, but if you want to see them ... visit me ;-) (I'm useless with tech or I would link it)
[avatar]
Thanks for the lovely comment on "Return Now."
[avatar]
Thank you for your comments on "Is Cupid Stupid?" I appreciate it so much! 😀
[avatar]
Tagging my new songs accordingly. Discovering the #Fawmtronica community and thanks so much for this tip!
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on railforest. Your feedback is very encouraging!
[avatar]
Thank you for you kind words and comments about This Bloody Love. I always enjoy combining 'normal' musical sounds (like the electric piano) with clearly synthesized sounds. And FAWM is really pushing me to just get the lyrics down without worrying and messing around too much. When I am not covered in sleeping cats I'll take a listen to your songs. Cheers!
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your supreme compliment on The Movie In My Mind!
[avatar]
Thanks! Erasure is a good comparison.
[avatar]
The Midi Fighter sounds great! I appreciate your taking the time to share the ins and out of it with me.
[avatar]
I'm wondering about the 3D or the Twister. The Midi Fighter looks like it could solve one of my problems with production. Coming up with more original MIDI notes, that I can, of course, manipulate in my DAW (as you do). Thoughts on either of those pieces of gear, or maybe something similar?
[avatar]
Just thinking of that finger drumming, I can see so many possibilities. Especially as a scratch pad. :)
[avatar]
I appreciate the detailed breakdown of "Nutrition." Thank you!
[avatar]
I watched a video on the MIDI Fighter 3D. Looks amazing!
[avatar]
I appreciate the listen and your kind comments on Eating and Drinking.
[avatar]
@cts
Travis - you and Adam are a dynamic duo of massive talent. Y'all remind me of my cousin and me when we were literally recording something everyday. Well, he would say that I was literally recording music everyday. Nonetheless it is a pleasure to listen to your work and be amazed and learning from your craft. By the way - the Jelly Factory should be open for business this evening before I take off for Norfolk later on tonight.
[avatar]
Loving your guys' collab... Keep on!
[avatar]
@artie
Hey man! Lyrics are done. I'm excited to record this. Just need a bit of time to kick this cold now. If I mentioned you on the track, what do you go by, DJ TBJ?
[avatar]
Thanks, Travis, for another helpful song review!
[avatar]
@sollis
Hi Travis! Thank you for the kind words on my track :)
[avatar]
Ha! I knew that must have been needle noise. I think if it were just distortion on the kick it would have been too harsh and annoying. But there's something about that needle static sound that is familar and sizzly without getting in the way. Thanks for nerding out on how you pulled off. It's a dope effect and it worked perfectly.
[avatar]
Thanks very much 👍🏻
[avatar]
Thank you so much for the extremely kind comment :)
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind words! Glad to know there are some people who grew up with nintendo here :) (I grew up with the Wii & the 3DS)
[avatar]
@artie
Then we're on the same page. 😊👍 I already started writing down some ideas. Do you have any thoughts for a hook? I've always been bad with that.
[avatar]
@aeye
oh cool I've never heard of citizen DJ. I'll have to check that one out. Thanks for that
[avatar]
Hey thanks so much for your comment on my song Hawks! I’ve been on this research rabbit hole for the days leading up to fawm, it means a lot that someone else is interested to hear :)
[avatar]
Oh sweet, thanks! I'll check it out and start googling too.
[avatar]
DANG!!! I came here to see what you had cooking before I go cook dinner, and this man already got FOUR songs up! I'm afraid to look at @nahlej381's page!
Gots lots to listen to at work 2moro! March on, dude!
[avatar]
Ah, cool, yep, that's exactly what I'm doing, slicing. In Logic it's called "Split" is all. Thanks!
[avatar]
Okay, so on "playing the mutes" I'm in Logic and only know how to "Split at Playhead" and then delete bits, is there a quicker way to mute tiny sections?
[avatar]
Hellooooooooo DJ! Let's do this!
[avatar]
@cts
…and the same goes for you, too. Molecular goodness will be a reality because of you. The dopeness knows no bounds.
[avatar]
Thanks for the Fabfilter tip. I'll go check it out!
[avatar]
Oh i'm down like four flat tires, sir
[avatar]
As someone who saw "Batboy: The Musical" in the early 00s, I truly smiled big time seeing your profile pic!! Happy FAWM, Travis & @nahlej381 -- looking forward to your creations!
[avatar]
@gm7
YOUR BACK! Can't wait to hear what you got in your goody bag this year....woohoo
[avatar]
