COLLABORATION UPDATE: if you are a musician looking for lyrics I have added (open for collab) behind the title so hopefully it is easier to find some. Or feel free to let me know what kind of style or theme you are looking for and I can send you possibilities.

FAWM!!!! Yes! I will do my best to participate as fully as possible but work obligations are busier than usual. I will listen as much as I can, comment when I am able, and post some lyrics and songs when time allows, and, as always, look forward to connecting and collaborating with you!

BIO: After many years of loving deeply, learning broadly, laughing freely, and living fully with a wild and crazy muse as my guide, I began writing songs and started to play music as inspired by a fellow FAWMer. We made an album together. That was in 2013. I have since had the remarkable opportunity to collaborate writing music with many awesome FAWMers far and near who inspire and delight me with their talents and passion.

I am grateful to you, my fellow FAWMers, for your inspiration, encouragement, and generosity! You never cease to impress and amaze me. I am sure this FAWM will be no exception! Enjoy!

Always open to collaborations, challenges, and co-writing! Happy to write lyrics for you or have you put music to mine. Would love to do more co-writing as well.

ALL LYRICS are OPEN for COLLABORATION unless I note otherwise. Just let me know! I am open to any musician’s minor tweaks and musical ideas! Also happy to share my ideas for a melody if that is helpful to you. Also happy to try doing simple music with your lyrics, co-write, do live skirmishes, or play some flute.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy FAWM to you!

Hi Liz, I borrowed a couple of your open lyric sheets to contemplate for next year's FAWM. Hope that's OK. I didn't publish "Do Not Fear Trust in Me" because it's not finished (or something). I'm still working on it.
[avatar]
@sarahk
Thank you so much for taking time to come by, listen, read, and respond! Sent you an email. :)
[avatar]
Yay I am gonna try to get some music going for Artichoke Darling, can you send me your email?
[avatar]
Merci pour tes commentaires !
About what you said on "Le café du matin / Morning coffee", just in case you still miss singing in french next february, I'll certainly be there, and happy to collab !
[avatar]
Oh, my goodness, Liz - thanks so much for all your listening and skirmishing and writing and collaborating. I’m so glad you are here. Tell me a few of your songs to listen to. Choosing is hard. What to have for dinner, which song to listen to next, etc.
[avatar]
Whoa nelly lookit all them songs!!! Thanks for the listen and comment on Indecision!!! Much appreciated <3
[avatar]
@gb9
Thank you for your kind comment on 'Intoxicated' it is a personal favourite. Your thoughts on 'Can Be, Could Be' and 'Begin Again' are really appreciated. Thank you, and congrats! You seem to have had an awesome FAWM 👏
[avatar]
@andrea
Thanks for your thoughtful comments on Average Joe. Paul really nailed the character in melodies and delivery. Glad you liked it :)
[avatar]
@jeff9
Thank you, Liz, for dropping in for a listen to "Like God Does" and for your sweet comments. I dearly love Nancy's lyric and I think it turned out to be one of the best songs in my list this FAWM. I hope it gets some more listens and that it resonates with folks like I thought it might given how the opioid crisis is breaking the hearts of so many families.
[avatar]
@johns
Thanks Liz, Gordon did a wonderful job with my lyrics.
[avatar]
Wow, @kahlo2013, your comment on The World's on Fire made me feel so very HEARD! What an experience for this newbie to know someone I admire really gets what I'm trying to communicate. This is better than psychotherapy!
[avatar]
Hey, thank you so much for checking out "Necco Candy Hearts" and leaving a comment. The song covers a lot of territory for me - childhood memories; cute pop icon; legendary nearby (to me) candy manufacturer). And, in some ways, they were the ultimate succinct lyric writers!
[avatar]
Thanks for the comments; much appreciated 🙏
I would have left a message earlier ... but I've only just finished scrolling past your remarkable catalogue. 😊That's a wonderful effort, great dedication. And, um, congratulations on the fawm-win! 🏅
[avatar]
Thanks very much for listening to five of my songs in a row! How brave of you! I appreciate your nice comments, too.
[avatar]
Thanks for listening to "Every Stitch..." I appreciate your thoughtful comments! Looks like you had a great FAWM. Thanks for helping to make mine so positive.
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind words about “Filling the Feeders”! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind comment on "The Lights on the Radio Tower." :)
[avatar]
Thanks for giving a listen to "In God We Trust" and "Ready or Not". The first one is designed for a giant chorus. The last works as a sing-a-long. You might check out Jmadisons very first song of FAWM "Where You Gonna Be"
[avatar]
Being resourceful I managed to get the music. https://soundcloud.com/davidharrington/silhouettes-shadows. Subtle addition but I think it is pretty effective. What a great singer she is. Amazing
[avatar]
I appreciate you listening to (and reading) "I Wear the Scar" -- thank you!
[avatar]
Maybe keep S & S with orchestration to the 50/90. What do you think @marthie ?
[avatar]
Thank you for your nice comments on She's Your Sister. I thought I was doing good with 19 songs..look at you..wow great job.
Incredible writing..
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments on "This Land Is Our Land" and "The Kids Are Alight" -- I appreciate them. I worked my butt off to finish 7 songs this FAWM and I feel pretty good that I'm only 170 songs behind you. I love your song "The First One."
[avatar]
Hey Liz! Thanks for your comments on "Yes, I Travel By Myself", glad it was relatable and that you enjoyed. Appreciate you listening!!
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on Never want to see you back. It was supposed to change chords (a major (pain) a minor (distraction) G what a surprise, etc. But sadly I am not that clever.
[avatar]
Liz, Thanks for taking a listen to "Fear of Falling". Alain's lyrics were poignant. My singing was OK but the guitar accompaniment did not come throu well. I gotta learn how to use my DAW and get a clear reading of what's happening musically
It's amazing what you were able to do on "Introspective Edge" with just an iphoner garage band. I gotta learn to do that!.. Very cool!!
You will recover from that surgery and are encouraged to continue making beautiful lyrics and music!
[avatar]
@beacon
You can't keep me away!
[avatar]
@beacon
I hope you misread what I wrote! I said I'd really not possible not to collab with you!
[avatar]
Liz, Thanks for the "Do No Fear Trust in Me" collab. I have no idea why it still did not show as a collab on my page(or yours). I put it in over and over. My apologies. Must have done something wrong?? I still have the" Isthmus" Lyrics . If I do it between now and next Feb, I send it to you. Vaja con Dios
[avatar]
@beacon
I just have to say that seeing you post here makes me smile, and I'm so glad you're a part of this community, and helped me come out of my shell. I think you might have been my first FAWM collab ever.
[avatar]
I will ditto @taracraig on thanks for the wonderful comment and recommendation on Aftermath! It was a very fun collab!
[avatar]
Thank you for the recommendation on Aftermath! It felt pretty special as it came together and I'm glad others are feeling the magic!
[avatar]
@roddy
Hi, you have written so many great lyrics. Unfortunately only one collab with me this FAWM but I think it was a good one. More to come in 50/90 I hope.
[avatar]
Liz, I appreciate knowing the specific things you enjoy about a song, so thanks for your detailed comments on Something For Nothing. It's inspiring me to write some more reflections like that. Every time I visit your page, I'm astounded by all the songs you've done. Do you have to pay extra for the space you're taking up here? :). Thanks for all the support!
[avatar]
@paulvt
Thanks for your comments and also for writing so many song lyrics, some of which I was able to provide music for! It was a pleasure to collaborate with you again.
[avatar]
Yeah,been feeling bad lately. My Raynauds is no fun. What a month you've had! I'll try to get to all the ones I've missed.
[avatar]
@monty
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments on “clouds” and congrats or another super successful FAWM.
[avatar]
@scubed
Thank you so much for all of your lovely, lovely comments! I’m way behind on reading your lyrics & listening to your collaborations but am hoping to catch up over the next couple of weeks. I’m disappointed that I couldn’t arrange my crazy schedule this February to do a collab with you - maybe during 50/90??
[avatar]
Thank you so much for sharing your lyrics for collab! I love the way you write! I really hope you like the songs I made with them!
[avatar]
I know I miss it too. Feels like I am silencejail. My printer's not printing, new mac is not behaving and I started studying my masters degree this year. I think the fun is starting tomorrow in Musicland!
[avatar]
As are you and I hope you don't mind, I'll be sending my songwriters from my group who joined FAWM to see different songwriting structures and amazing writing!!
[avatar]
Hi Liz, I'm sad I didn't get to collaborate with you this FAWM. Not sure if you're interested in doing something after this is done, but if so, feel free to reach out to me via my website (http://Floanito.com)!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your recent comments. I do appreciate you taking the time to share what worked for you in those songs!
[avatar]
Hi Liz,

I know you're a fan of Queen Beaver, but I didn't think she was gonna show this year. However, she is back singing a song that is way out of her comfort zone. It has no bawdy puns, etc and a social message... Gasp! See the liner notes for an explanation of its genesis.

[avatar]
thank you for all you r listening and thoughtful comments this morning. im sorry i have not had the chance to write a song with you this time around, but ive been swamped just trying to finish up already planned songs. i was hoping to end on the 8th floor with you and, although im only three comments away from there now, you have ascended to the 9th, so i will never catch up to you, so i admit defeat.
[avatar]
Ok, then you didn't see my comment. Anyway, you don't need two versions of the song, so I'll write something else for it.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your comment on Rumours, I appreciate you listening. Well done on having such a productive FAWM! What's your secret? :)
[avatar]
Oh, I see you've found another collaborator for your lyric. Is that why you didn't post my take? I suppose I still have time to write new lyrics for my music, but it will be tight. Let me know. Thanks.
[avatar]
@jamkar
Thank you Liz. I might try to squeeze one more out tomorrow.
[avatar]
I snagged Green boots, I hope you like it. Well written
[avatar]
totally the pleasure is all mine lovely . Your words sync in with me so beautifully and that was an instant flow that couldn't be stopped xxx
[avatar]
So happy to be your bedtime lullaby! And your lovely prayer, sung in a beautiful, spare a cappella, was waiting for me as I tucked in. That may become my nightly meditation.💕
[avatar]
I’m being interviewed by a fellow FAWMer today for his podcast and would like to share “I Will for You”. Are you okay with that?
[avatar]
156!!! blimey! I have limped over a win officially but a lot of stuff i wouldn't really count properly to myself, Yes on the Clophill song, pastoral/demonic. the other thing the village is noted for is weaving straw boater hats! I added a pic of the church ruins to the liner notes btw
[avatar]
Thanks for your feedback on "be my ghost"! That's the pesky thing about longing, sometimes it lingers.
[avatar]
And liz i've only gone and posted it!!!! i don't think a song has ever flowed out of me so fast having read words. Thank you so so much. Sorry for not confirming but being rather late into the game this year i am finding myself flowing somewhat and wishing it was feb 1st again. Thank you so so much for such beautiful evocative lyrics for me to play with xxxxxx
[avatar]
Thank you for your lovely comments and the sympathy for my temporary recording space, back to normality and peace tomorrow, hopefully get some last few songs in before we finish…….. I don’t think I’ll be getting close to your 150 though!!!! Totally blown away by this!
[avatar]
Thank you, Liz! @mctown's lyrics really moved me, too. One can tell you have a huge heart through your lyrics, but to also hear your story with your son--thank you so much for sharing!! I hope and pray our society becomes more trauma-informed...it will only help us post-pandemic, war, etc. too. Being seen and heard helps with the healing process!! Nothing hurts worse than someone saying, "ah get over it" or "it wasn't that bad"...I sometimes wonder if those people mean well and cannot wrap their head around what some kids go through bc it is just too sad.
[avatar]
Glad you liked my sad tale of the electrician. It's based on reports I have read in the British Press. While Britain was still in the European Union most people accepted the influx of Eastern European skilled workers in Britain. But as soon as Britain left the EU, after the Brexit referendum, there was a rise in Xenophobia and many of those useful immigrants (doing jobs locals had no skill for) suffered abuse (can't say racial abuse, because the white English people insulting the foreigners were insulting people often whiter than themselves).
This has resulted in many of those families either returning "home", or like my narrator, heading over to Ireland, so their families don't need to learn yet another language. (Though the kids will be exposed to Irish at school 😉)

Now there is a massive shortage of skilled repair people in Britain - talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
[avatar]
Great idea to have a ring of people do the tree hugging on that Castanyer (Chestnut Tree). If I ever go back, I'll make sure there are enough of us to do just that!
[avatar]
Glad you liked it. Gosh there's a serious choke factor in trying to sing it.
[avatar]
@debs
Hey Liz! Up for that second morph still? If so, you're up on chain #1 (I moved you) https://write.fawm.org/songs/22206
[avatar]
Thanks so much! Always an honor to put your beautiful words to music!
[avatar]
Thanks Liz! And… 139… whaaaat?! Creativity Central over here 👏
[avatar]
Sent you an email with the demo for Under the Rainbow - feel free to add if you'd like!
[avatar]
I'd forgotten the Green Boots story! Thanks for reminding me what that referred to. And thanks for listening to "Catch The Train" -- I learned a lot from that collab.
[avatar]
Good grief! You have 137 songs! Of course, that's just as of this moment. You'll probably have 10 more by the time I finish typing this! looks like I have some listening to do!
[avatar]
Hi, Liz, I LOVED your comment on Never Fall In Love With A Musician! Yeah, why didn't somebody tell me this years ago? Glad you liked the "strings attached" line. I thought Caitlin interpreted the lyric perfectly, so it was a lot of fun. And having John Lampson there to add his production skills was a bonus.
[avatar]
You wretch, Liz! It's 11:20PM and you KNEW "She sailed into my life" would hook me. So I'm doing things now as inspiration but surpris surpris your lyric will fit.. If you don't give permission for the collab I'll do my own words. :P Won't have a vocal till tomorrow my time anyway.
[avatar]
Wow congratulations on winning a million times over! And thank you for the lovely song comments you've been leaving throughout the month, delightful to see you here again :)
[avatar]
Just posted my take on "Hollow Victories" - Hope you like it. I worked out the chords on an acoustic guitar and then decided it needed a more rock influenced version.
[avatar]
Liz, thanks for taking the time from your own very prolific month to offer kind comments on my songs and suggest a structure idea. Much appreciated!
[avatar]
Liz, My apologies. I have learned that when you edit the lyrics of a a song you must replace not only the sound file but also the collaborator. I did add you when I registered "Do Not Fear..." but when I revised it I didn't realize that I had to resubmit the name of the collaborator. You had better check again to make sure it is now in your catalog.
[avatar]
@savoy
I’m so glad you liked it, Liz! So fun to be a part of this impromptu project of 3 musicians and one set of lyrics. Thanks again 💖
[avatar]
You're too kind. If you have the time, are you able to post it? I'm in the middle of recording a couple of other songs, as I finally got everything working.
[avatar]
Yup... as usual, my "vocals" butcher the song, but whatever... https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/ucs05xfz650e7es/StrongerThanYourEnemies_kahlo_bithprod.mp3
Let me know.
[avatar]
Thanks for your comments on both "When You're Famous" and "Days of Kohl and Rosaries" -- as for the latter, I do think midwestern 90s roots show in a lot of my songs, this one definitely in particular. ;)
[avatar]
Hi Liz, I've posted our collaboration on "Do Not Fear Trust in Me". Thanks for the privilege wor writing this. I a looking forward to hearing the other collab on these same lyrics to see how differently they can be approached. I tried to stick closely to the lyrics but had to modify the position of "I will protect you" and added "To the end of the age" to keepit balanced and singable.
[avatar]
I've finally sorted out most of my recording issues, so I can try music if you'd like. Do you have a lyric that's screaming for music? (You know the vocals will be horrible, though.)
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my collab song "Defy Gravity" with mikeb.
[avatar]
Just let me know. He did have first dibs on it☺️
[avatar]
So happy you like concept of deeds of gratitude
I wrote it quite a while ago, right before Thanksgiving

The chorus is
How quickly red-gold splendor fades
challenging our attitude
When you share the bounty in your life
you're sowing seeds of gratitude
[avatar]
I had to reply to your question on my Pizza Cowbell and Beer song. It wasn’t a Wisconsin beer (though it often is) but it was local - Bent Paddle out of Duluth MN. Your comment about my flirting with Geoffrey made me smile. I’m just a simple princess with a cowbell and and tongue…drum. Congratulations on an amazing February! I’m still hoping to get some music for your lyric. Five days left.
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your kind comments on my Love for Rent! Astonished you have time to listen to others in between producing so much yourself! 🙌
[avatar]
Hi Liz, Thank you for your always kind comments. Yes we are good. We just moved to another time to give my jungest a fresh start with his correct name and identity. Dogs are also fine :) I hope you guys are also doing great and I love Hank.
[avatar]
Liz, I'm so out of time I can't get through this list. Wave one at me you'd like, that can cope with my Skirmish-level approach, and I will do before Father Time swings his sickle.
[avatar]
Thanks for the comments on my Love For Rent skirmish. I like the premise and backbone, and probably would flesh it out after FAWM. It is very different from anything I have penned, but FAWM is the place to experiment.
[avatar]
Thanks for morphing with our collaboration and wow impressive song list!
[avatar]
I thought I had offered to do your "Journeys through Memories". I thought it strange you had never got back to me on it. I concluded that I must have missed your reply. But I just checked the song's page and my post wasn't there. It looks like I mustn't have pressed send or something. Sigh.

Just listened to the demo Steve Johnson did and was astounded that the first two lines were almost note for not what I had recorded on my phone as a potential tune. I hope to find another lyric of yours that inspires me before FAWM ends. Is it just me, or has this FAWM gone by much faster than previous ones?
[avatar]
I had to Google what the capital of Liechtenstein was, so I thought I'd save other people the bother
[avatar]
Hi Liz, good to see you! Thanks for your kind comment on my "Duty Calls." I'm not having such a productive FAWM but still hope to sneak up and get close to a win. I've mellowed in my ardor but am still fascinated by the songwriting process.--Andrew
[avatar]
Liz, I was just thinking of you this morning, wondering what we could do together this year! I might have an idea for something. Will be in touch☺️.
[avatar]
@deena
Thanks so much for your kinds words!!! Now I am looking at your page - 118 songs! OMG amazing!!!
[avatar]
Liz....I am blown away by your body of work and will be coming back. Any comment from you validates my concentrating on lyrics over music this FAWM.
Not sure of last comment mentioning me and DAVE
I'll be back
[avatar]
@debs
I'm glad you like it and I'm grateful that you let me work on it. I'm lucky enough to still have my dad, but I feel these lyrics so keenly. 💜 I hope that little changes I made were okay!
[avatar]
@debs
I posted it finally! 💜
[avatar]
Now I'm leaving more hearts! <3<3<3 Thanks, Liz, for your kind words on "New Relationship Energy"! That you liked the lyrics means a LOT to me! More hearts... <3<3<3
[avatar]
<3<3<3
[avatar]
LIZ! Holy cow. What did I read up top? Something about being busier than usual this FAWM and "post[ing] some lyrics and songs when time allows." 115 songs, so many collabs, and more than a week left in February. YOWZA. I'm in awe!
[avatar]
Thank you again, Liz for taking on my lyric and breathing life into it.
I love your vocal delivery.
Cheers!
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comment on "Worth Slaying For!" I really appreciate it!
[avatar]
@mikeb
Thanks for the comment on my collab with Tammy, 'Defy Gravity'!
[avatar]
ooh I'd love to here @sheslin 's take. If she's ok with me doing one as well, then ok. You've got a REAL winner here if Sue's stepping up to the plate :)
[avatar]
Liz - I did record an excavational version of your animal lullaby in audacity. I think acapella might be the way to go. I’ll plan to listen through and try to tease out a few distinct section types. It is super fun to sing. And just right. If you don’t hear from me by Wednesday or Thursday, maybe you can remind me. Thank you for asking.
[avatar]
@ltunes
LLLLIZ! right back at you :-) Thanks again for the great lyrics, for your generous comments, and for being so much fun to collaborate with. I am happy to have posted song #5 and am caught up to last year. My goal for this year is 9 songs; we will see if that happens. I am very slow on lyric writing but am committed to learning and improving (hopefully getting faster) I have taken up daily writing to help. But this is for sure - you have a special talent!
[avatar]
Thanks for your friendly comments on my 10x10! I had fun doing it.
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind comments, Liz! I would've loved to collaborate on "this is now" but it looks like someone else did already :) Sorry for the delayed response- I had a friend visiting from out of the country and a show but let me know if you have any other lyrics that you imagine fitting with my style! I love your words :)
[avatar]
Great. Liz! My wife and I are going to D.C. for a couple of days to hear a concert and do a little "tourist-ing" but I should have lots of time next week. I look forward to playing with it!
[avatar]
@tezzin
Thank you for the lovely comment on "Listen for the Bells"!
[avatar]
Liz, that would be awesome if you could put music to I've Got My Curiosity.
Would love to hear what you come up with! : )
[avatar]
Hi there, thanks for your kind words on my skirmish -weirdly wonderful. I am in amazement at how much you have managed to do this year! Wow! I cant wait to listen to your stuff.
[avatar]
@ltunes
HMMM fish sounds - that is a head scratcher --- I shall Improvise!
[avatar]
@paulvt
I sent you an email with the lyrics set to two different pieces of music- let me know which you prefer
[avatar]
Absolutely no rush, I can work with the verses I have. When you get a spare few minutes
[avatar]
Any chance of two more verses with this cadence?

sweet memories drifting on moon beams
shooting stars like awakening new dreams

into my heart stirring possibilities
and visions of what just might be…

If you're swamped I can write them
[avatar]
@beacon
Yes you need to find an hour of time and tune up your hammered dulcimer! I didn't know you had one. More reason to resonate with you!
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my song "Swept Away".
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my collab song with crisp1 "All the Time in the World".
[avatar]
@sph
Hi Liz, thank you so much for listening and your words. Warm and fuzzy happiness is such a nice description
[avatar]
I am so glad we could collaborate. Thank you for the note about the music. Really enjoyed doing it and I also felt very lucky!
[avatar]
Thanks Liz. I do love to laugh!
[avatar]
@jeff9
Wow, Liz, I'm so chuffed to see your comments about Always You. I know Patty put a piece of her heart into that one and I really wanted to sell it with some soul but hopefully without being too cheesy. It was a really great experience to work on it and it's encouraging--no, it's thrilling to have a reaction like yours. Thank you so much!
[avatar]
My god you're prolific! Thank you so much for your lovely comments on some of my songs.
[avatar]
Liz, you have such a nice way of commenting on songs! Thank you for your reflections on The Movie In My Mind. You're saying all the things we hoped for in this collab. Then you did it again for Always You. From your comments it looks like you really related to the feeling Jeff and I were going for. So glad it affected you that way.
[avatar]
Thank you, yes there is indeed power in the "hot ditch" which is an actual thing in the lake where my grandfather fished all his life. A power plant channeled all its excess hot water into this lake which made for some good fishing.
[avatar]
@ltunes
Hey Liz. Glad you like the Devil. I had so much fun working on it. Dwell with the Damned... Yes!
[avatar]
Liz, It was so wonderful to read your comments on Love Doesn’t End When It’s Over! So gratifying that you liked what we did and were so gracious with your praise. And YOU….! You have about 500 songs already on your page! Are you some kind of SuperSongster? I think so!
[avatar]
Well shoot! I’m too slow! Maybe I will try to tackle something else here…stay tuned!
[avatar]
@oswlek
I'm onto something, Liz. Might send you a rough draft in the next couple days. It'll sound like a children's song, hopefully that's OK.

BTW, did you get the emails I sent the past couple days?
[avatar]
Glad you liked the songs 😁
Thanks for the collabs!
[avatar]
Glad you liked my "Heart of the Matter" - You picked up on so much I thought might slip under the radar. This narrator is definitely not me. I think keeping animals in a 4th-5th floor apartment is cruel and wanting a dog might just be grounds for a separation 😁.
[avatar]
@ltunes
Hey Liz, Liz here. WHOA that was FAST! You can email me at lizrmbo@gmail.com. I don't see your email on the profile (I could be looking in the wrong place :-)). I am looking forward to seeing what you came up with!
[avatar]
@jamkar
Thank you for your kind comments on Winter's Tale Liz.
[avatar]
Thanks so much Liz... I was going for a type of wall of sound, ala Oasis? on She's my alter ego.
[avatar]
Sure, I'll give Move Beyond a go.
[avatar]
I'll do anything. I'm not big on politics, but I like doing different stuff. I can also check out what you've got. Maybe even more than one. I've been having a blast with the acoustic guitar and lyrics from others. :)
[avatar]
Hey! You got any lyrics you'd like me to make music for? :)
[avatar]
First thanks for listening to my music and the comments on “Pink Cotton Candy Skies”. Look forward to our collab. You are really prolific!! I don’t have any insights or ideas. If you write lyrics I will write music. I can write in any style pretty much. I am not as fast as you though. Ha.
[avatar]
Send me some ideas for the same name collab, I’m a bit behind and possibly over committed so far this FAWM but is something comes out easily I will happily oblige.
[avatar]
@wistah
Thank you so much for listening. Peace be with you!

Thank you, your continued support and encouraging words means the world to me, LIz. Hugs. 🐺

_______
68! I was close. Thanks again, Liz. Your encouraging words are much appreciated.
[avatar]
@debs
Hello my dear! Would you like to join another Morph? :D I wasn't sure if it was an "I want to" vs. an "I will if you need me". Let me know! Also!! I'm still working on 30,000 Feet! It's going well, just taking its time.
[avatar]
@colgoo
So glad you liked my treatment of your lyrics! I do so enjoy the collaborative aspects of FAWM. Being to work with such talented people around the globe is an honor!
[avatar]
@beacon
Thank you for giving me such good lyrics to work with! Make sure to edit the Liner notes in the song with your comments. Like I said, it's a goal of mine to always work with you!
[avatar]
@beacon
I got it up! It just sort of came out and I had to record it. Take a listen. Hope you like it.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your lovely comment on Letter to the Fallen. (I wasn’t sure what the “ummmmm” meant, but your words were beautiful, thank you!)
[avatar]
@beacon
I'm putting it in the queue! I know I couldn't do FAWM without a collab with you! Would you be okay with changing the title to be "More Authentic Than You"? That feels like it hits more.
[avatar]
In This Moment is up -- let me know what you think. It's my first ever collab, thanks for letting me play with your beautiful lyrics! I may re-record the vocals, and I'll let you know if I do.
[avatar]
@colgoo
Song is up. I hope you like it!
[avatar]
@oswlek
Thanks for the really kind comment on, "Carolina", Liz. It is greatly appreciated. 🙂
[avatar]
@colgoo
Yay! My weekdays are so crazy, so I’m playing “catch up” this weekend. Will try to get something posted soon!
[avatar]
Hey Liz! Thanks for the feedback on Edom. Kind of different for me, but it was fun to put together. I haven’t had a chance yet to peruse all of your lyrics to see if there might be something there that pops out at me, but it would be so nice to have another collab under our belts!
[avatar]
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. It means a lot to get such thoughtful feedback consistently.
[avatar]
Yes, Your Song was just just such a fun way to spend the afternoon. We are starting to pack up and we fly tomorrow. Sunday, I will be back to FAWMing.
[avatar]
@oswlek
Whatever works best for you, Liz. I jumped the gun and sent a sketch to your email, but @lute4life certainly deserves priority. No hard feelings either way. 🙂
[avatar]
@owl
Thank you for your kind words, Liz!
[avatar]
OK> I would like to try Your Song. I travel on Saturday, but I should have enough time to do it tomorrow straight up, no tricks.Otherwise it will be Monday when I am home.
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my song "Relentless Olive".
[avatar]
@treble
Greetings, I want to thank you for your comments on my skirmish song, "Addicted to Aerobics." I especially appreciate your suggestions on how to develop a chorus and I'm in the process of trying them out now. Thanks again for reading the lyrics and taking the time to provide such thoughtful and helpful comments.
[avatar]
Hello!! Thanks for stopping by - I’m a bit slow this year - see you d already clocked up an armful of brilliant ( I guess) lyrics. Well done you. Hope to check them out at some point. Liz
[avatar]
Glad you liked my "Portrait of an Artist" I was quite pleased with myself getting to use all of the words in the cloud within my story. I had thought "Shan" was a typo for "shan't" -It isn't. But Wiki informed me of the Shan people and verse two came into being and so too my focus.
[avatar]
Posted Treasures of Time now, hope you enjoy it :)
[avatar]
Glad you made "scents" of my smell related song. 😁
[avatar]
@lowhum
Glad you like it! Post it on yours, got to go to
🛏️
[avatar]
Ha! This People song was so much fun. LOL throughout. FAWM is so accommodating for experimentation. Thanks for the comments.
[avatar]
Thank you Kahlo, for taking a listen to I Miss You. I'm so glad it moved you to that sweet place and lingers...
[avatar]
yeah its odd though the timer still shows 22.56 although it does musically cut out!
[avatar]
@erbaer
Yep! Lucky random collaboration choice. So... How about I send you music of something without words. You find something in there to say. It might take a day of two to record something and get it out. I can send it to email or post.
[avatar]
Glad you liked it, don’t know what your thoughts about collabs post FAWM are? I think I would like to work further on in after FAWM is over and maybe release it or something…
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my song "Choose".
[avatar]
Our random collab is up, hope you like it
[avatar]
Was an absolute joy to put music to your lyrics - and the first time I've done it actually - definitely inspiring me to do more! Thanks for the opportunity and kind words :)
[avatar]
Thank you for your sympathy and loving comment. And: wow you were so creative and diligent already in the first days - chapeau.
[avatar]
So glad you’re happy with the way Bandit Break-in turned out. I had a lot of fun with it.
[avatar]
Glad you enjoyed my "Growing Old Disgracefully". It's only partly me, there are some fantasy elements in there. (My partner has vetoed me getting a motorbike. My "gang" actually go rambling twice a week in the local hills. 😉

PS Slow down, will ya! I'll never catch up with your output at this rate! 🤦‍♂️😘
[avatar]
Is anyone writing music for Bandit Break-In? If not, I'd love to snag it up.
[avatar]
I've emailed you the last 10 seconds of the Acoustic Corpse. Have fun good FAWMer!
[avatar]
You're up in #morph2 . My song is here: https://write.fawm.org/songs/14132
[avatar]
Thank you Liz for your comment on 'Let Go,' I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for commenting on my song "His Sun".
[avatar]
@b3nut
Thanks so much for your kind comments!

@scubed
I see you are off to your usual prolific start! Thanks so much for your lovely comment on “Sky Spirit” - I really appreciate it.
[avatar]
Hiya! Please can you email me at dawnplanton0@gmail.com about that you need for the Perfect Evening tracks in the Harmony Singers Challenge. I can send the two tracks separately or together, currently they are WAV files.
[avatar]
Thank you for listening!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind words about "Wild Heart!' I do use the built-in mic but keep it fairly far away from me - not sure if that helps with the muffled-ness?
[avatar]
Glad you like my bluesy rant. Happy you picked up on the sense behind Verse 3.
It always amazes me that so many "normal" people will regurgitate that lie that "humans are greedy, selfish, etc" (the mantra of the right). while never displaying those characteristics themselves and probably rarely coming across it in their social circle. I see little acts of kindness on every walk I take through the streets and so many proofs that people are naturally gregarious and open to others, rather than out for themselves all the time.
[avatar]
@n24
Thank you so much for the lovely comments, I really appreciate it! :)
[avatar]
Thanks for you nice comments and commentary on Gender Fluid Cat, Liz! Good to see you here and I will be peering over your shoulder for inspiration and possible collabs.
[avatar]
Hi. thanks for listening. if you are inspired to write some lyrics for something I post, please do.
[avatar]
Thanks Liz for all your great comments!
[avatar]
@gm7
Thx for kind words on Green Comet- BluePlanet...I love outer space stuff!!
[avatar]
@wacha
Psss, I'm running a skirmish at 9EST, so in like 20 minutes...
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on my first song! Happy to hear positive feedback on the kalimba its a new addition 😄
[avatar]
Thanks for the feedback on first dance. Appreciate that.
[avatar]
Thank you for your comments on "Picking Up The Pieces" I'm glad that you picked up on the positive vibes of the song even though it seems a bit negative at first. I've got to say... I'm impressed with the trophy already. You are a lyric machine :)
[avatar]
You don't need to worry just yet! I think the journalists like me will be replaced before the creative writers are. And the songwriter Nick Cave, who was in the news recently for his comments about ChatGPT, seems to believe AI will never fully be able to replace artists. Me, I'm not sure, but I hope he's right. Thanks for the comment!!
[avatar]
@roddy
Hello. Have posted a track for your Inner Critic lyrics. It took a lot longer than I expected. I'm in a chalet in Spain with a guitar and a laptop. Internet is a little basic so I hope the song track uploads and sounds good enough
[avatar]
Thank you for you comments. In a way my mind has a mysic for my words but then again I dont have the time to do that. Let me know what is in your mind. Maybe its much better than mine. 😁 and probably is.
[avatar]

@frey
Thanks for your comment! Wow! Haha, you already completed the challenge!
[avatar]
@wacha
No problem, I gotcha!

Congratulations on your win!
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words on Never Stop Singing. It's lovely to know others can resonate with a process that can feel isolating.
[avatar]
Glad you liked my Empty Car Space Blues. I felt such a fool when I realised that I had been in the wrong place all that time. The thing that convinced me I was in the right place was that I remembered it was parked between a red and a white car at the bottom of the "field". When I went to the wrong waste ground, I went to the bottom of it and there was a space between a red car and a white car, so I convinced myself this was indeed where my car had been left. Once that idea took root, my brain stopped listening to the doubters and roared headlong into the single idea that my car had been stolen! What an embarrassment! I was lucky not to be arrested for wasting police time. 🤦‍♂️
[avatar]
Hi, Liz, Thanks for coming back and listening to Gwyn's treatment of If This Is Love, I Don't Like It. I, too, was impressed by his pacing and phrasing. I thought his choice of a waltz treatment worked really well.
I see that you've been busy putting songs together. I'll have to come back tomorrow and settle in!
[avatar]
@debs
Ahh thanks for letting me know, Liz! I'd love to keep working on it if that's okay with all involved! It's going a bit slower than I thought it might but I like what's coming! :) @erbaer's version is just lovely!
[avatar]
@erbaer
May I post my music for this?
[avatar]
15 already? Seriously? Geesh!
[avatar]
I will likely have the song tomorrow. Birds everywhere, So much fun to make. How are you sorting collabs this year when posting?
[avatar]
Hi, Kahlo, Gwyn Jones just sent me his music & vocals for If This I Love, I Don't Like It, if you'd like to hear the song.
[avatar]
@artie
I agree, @debs did such a great job with the morph!!
[avatar]
@debs
I hear thirty thousand feet. May I? 💜
[avatar]
@ohdeer
Hello! Are you writing for the Harmony collab?
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind comment on my song!
[avatar]
@debs
The morph plan sounds perfect! <3
[avatar]
Hi Liz. yes, this AI thing is quite scary. It can do all sorts of things. I am also biased so I do think your lyrics always be better :)
[avatar]
Oh, I don’t think I would go on stage, it’s only a dream. Look at you go, already 9 songs. I better get commenting. (And looking for collab with you.)
[avatar]
Your comment is too kind, Liz. ♥️
Looking forward to reading through your stuff soon!
[avatar]
@jamkar
Thank you!
[avatar]
There is indeed a cat in heat wailing at the end. Appropriately enough for a song about a break up. I dedicated the song to that puss as a thank you.
[avatar]
This morning I had prepared the two songs I wanted to post. The I discovered that the song uploading wasn't going to be possible until 13:00 BCN time. I left the songs till later and went to enjoy the day with my friend. Only to find I didn't have a car to come back to. But, in the spirit of your song, to ensure the day was not a write off, I posted the songs as soon as I got back.
[avatar]
@clioem
Thanks for the kind comments!
[avatar]
@jamkar
Hey Liz what happened? It’s February again!
Happy FAWM! Going over your lyrics now.
[avatar]
I'm pretty flexible as to lyrics. Send me what ya got and I'll see what I can come up with.

I'm impressed, only half a day and you've posted 8 songs already while I'm still trying to find a rhyme for "month." ☺
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind comments on "I'll Make It, I Will." 😀
[avatar]
Awesome! It will be a party. It is so cool being able to see 1 set of lyrics transformed into 3 different songs. I can't wait!
[avatar]
"I love the juxtaposition of confidence and defiance with the reality of inherent dangers."

Classic thanks. I am adding that as a quote on the song.
[avatar]
@sph
Understood. I wish you a good recovery
[avatar]
@sph
Hi Liz, yes get your flute out and have a go! 😀 Have a wonderful FAWM
[avatar]
ha ha sorry Kahlo when i saw you say about round 2 i didnt realise i had you in already thx do much for helping out anyway
[avatar]
Hi Liz
I’m pretty open for whatever you send me, but prefer if you avoid religion, explicit words and politics.
[avatar]
Hi Liz
Happy FAWMing!
[avatar]
@clioem
YAY FAWM!
[avatar]
I agree with @debs it wouldn't be FAWM without you! Looking forward to more collaborations with you this year.
[avatar]
@cts

[avatar]
Hey Liz. Have a great FAWM!
[avatar]
@debs
Hi Liz! Glad you're back, it wouldn't be FAWM without you! 🌻
[avatar]

[avatar]
Hey Liz,

Hope you're on the mend. Happy fawming
[avatar]
Glad to see you around as well! I'm excited and looking forward to the chaos!
[avatar]

[avatar]
Howdy Liz! Let's collab on a song again this year.
[avatar]
Kahlo!!!! Here we are again. Do you believe the time warp we're in?? Speed of light I tell ya. Can't wait to go fishin' at the Liz Petty Campground, where the lyric's are jumpin'!
[avatar]
Happy FAWM!
[avatar]
@roddy
You are back! Hope you have a good FAWM.
[avatar]
Hi! Have a wonderfully lyrical FAWM! And as always, I look forward to all your lyrics, but eagerly await the day you do some about beards, or bigfoot, or competitive eating, for me to take a crack at. You know, the important things in life! 😀
[avatar]
Happy FAWM you good thing! Have fun with your new songs
[avatar]
@jamkar
Yes! Bring your best Liz. I can’t wait!
[avatar]
Howdy Liz! Let's see how compelling those instruments are in February as they call to you...
[avatar]
Happy FAWMing!
[avatar]
Hi Liz. I am enjoying snorkeling and beaching this winter. My snowbird days are numbered, will be coming home mid February. FAWMing here is challenging with limited stuff to play with. Unless I can make a song using swim fins, hmmm?
[avatar]
Hey Liz! Good to see you! Now, when you say you're busier than usual, does that mean you'll only post, say, 120 song lyrics, instead of the normal 200+😉! However many, I always, always love seeing what your fertile brain comes up with each year. I'm sure that there will be many things you put out there that will pique my interest and inspiration!
[avatar]
@tjeff
Happy FAWMing Liz!
[avatar]
@b3nut
Nice to meet ya and happy FAWMing!
[avatar]
hi LIz. Looking forward to a plethora of stimulating lyrics coming from your corner.

Hi Liz! It’s great to see you here again. And may I just say I am in love with your dog!! May you have a fantastic FAWM! 🥳
[avatar]
I once again look forward to you posting your 14 tunes while I'm busy tuning my guitar on my first song. ;)

Happy writing!
[avatar]
@jeff9
Ditto, Liz. Let's have some fun. Happy FAWM.
[avatar]
I'm sure you will surprise yourself with productivity in the midst of it all. I hope you have a great FAWM and I am guessing that we will probably connect for a song at some point!
[avatar]
Happy FAWM, Liz - I can't really believe that you'll be able to keep yourself from writing a zillion songs whatever else is going on,
[avatar]
Hey Liz, well thank you. There are getting to be more and more of us these days 😀
[avatar]
Happy FAWM Liz - can't wait to do another collab with you! Your lyrics pretty much write the music themselves 😀
[avatar]
Write, write, write and write again, can't wait to read the magic dripping from your pen!!!!!
[avatar]
I definitely would not be FAWM without a 10x10 with you!
[avatar]
Good morning, Liz. Thanks for the wakeup message. Here's to another beautiful day!
[avatar]
I soooo look forward to reading your work, Liz!! I hope your beautiful orchid is in full bloom :)
[avatar]
Hey Liz, off we go again!
[avatar]
Up for an in-person collab this February?
[avatar]
@beacon
So glad to see you here! I need to set your lyrics to something. Interested in writing lyrics for the Harmony Singers Challenge? https://write.fawm.org/forums/505
[avatar]
Happy FAWM, Liz!!!

@erbaer
Hey there, Liz. Nice to see you, so to speak.
