Lea Shico is a queer Latinx icon. She handles a powerful musical fusion of Afro-pop, contemporary Colombian rhythms such as champeta, queer music, and electronic music. Shico works with dancehall dancers to create a movement in her shows that incites dancing. Her lyrics speak of queer identities, love between women, and the search for luminous worlds. She mixes Spanish and English, influenced by her international career. The artist has performed in Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Haiti, the United States, and Mexico. In 2024, she played at Pride Guadalajara 2024 with an audience of more than 700,000 people and opened for prominent Mexican singer Vivir Quintana on her tour in Casas throughout Mexico.
