Mostly, I love to sing. I have been a songwriter since 1978, mainly writing for myself and my circle of musician friends. I play piano, acoustic guitar, and uke. I regret that I have never recorded a CD of my music (yet!) Genres include: alt folk, Americana, blues, folk-pop, singer/songwriter, theater, funny songs/parody. My background is in theater acting, though I don't do much of that anymore.

I would describe my vocal style as clear, belting, bluesy, theatrical, mezzo-soprano. I resonate with singers such as Linda Ronstadt, Karen Carpenter, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, Shawn Colvin, Aimee Mann, Patty Larkin, Brandi Carlile and Megan Trainer. I particularly admire the songwriting of Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Jackon Browne, Ben Folds, REM, They Might Be Giants, CSN&Y, Brandi Carlile, Joni Mitchell and so many more. Though this list is very folky/acoustic, I also love rock and roll, hip hop, R&B and pop music.

Lately I have been learning how to write for sync licensing and I'm looking for producers to collaborate on projects for that purpose. I am learning to produce and make multi-track recordings (I work in Presonus Studio One Artist), but I need a more pro producer to bring my tracks to being "radio-ready" and pitchable. Shout out to the wonderful community of #2Indie and #LicensingBasecamp! They taught me all I know.

I've been Co-chair of Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance (PASA www.pasamusic.org) for over 25 years. I occasionally perform live in the Philadelphia, PA area - both solo and with husband David C. Perry as Winchester/Perry - since 1992. We live in Norristown, PA outside Philly since 1999. We have one wonderful daughter who is now 20 and in college and lives at home.

Yea for fourteen, variety of instruments is always a challenge and helps in the mind flow. I appreciate your comments also. It will be nice to hear a few live.

Hey thanks for your comments on The Only One Awake! I also am learning how to produce, I don't consider myself a producer...yet! I'm working on learning how to produce my own songs, and I'm also interested in writing for sync. I followed you on insta, if you want to connect post-fawm! Congrats on making it to 14!

Well, I just hit 14 songs! but I'm actually going to remove one and write one more by the 28th. I'm also going to try to write music for my lyrics-only song and write lyrics for my instrumental.

My "wins" are that I used all my instruments this year: piano, synth, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, and dulcimer. It would have been good to use my bowed psaltery, too, I may break that out.

My other win is that I produced all my songs in my DAW (software in my computer), even if it was just a simple recording to a click. I'm really working on learning to produce, and I needed to focus on that this month, as much as I needed to write more songs.

All in all, a really great year!! I feel I got to spend a fair amount of time listening to others (never enough time for that), making new connections, and writing and reading comments. I'm happy that I chose sobriety all month, which was a choice I made, so that I could fully focus on this.
