Here is my thought process.

Okay so, something about the song is funny, one problem. I'm not funny

The song has a good bass, is it the sound is it the baseline, both? I guess I'll find out

"Love those wide synths, it's a very 80s vibe, probably because of the flanger!"
Kinda my usual style, just gotta add more flanger.

So here we have a clear vocal direction. The lyrics should be funny and spoken word.
I wouldn't know who William Shatner is and it wouldn't have been on my mind but I had to take a look to give me ideas.

I read my first novel by looking over someone's shoulder in the train

She just smiled but I know she was just trying to be polite so I continue the conversation

She started talking of the signs that had occurred to her, she went down all the little signs that people use to lie
And then she got to Cancer and I was a little tuned out I said "My grandma had cancer", seems she didn't mean that kind
Regardless she went on all the same listing off the different traits
I came in with my own I said "Scorpio has bad breath", she looked at me like I had offended her instead
I said "Sorry, I guess you must be a Scorpio then?" "How did you guess?" she shaid
Well I guess I was lucky, it was an educated guess, so I reach into my bag and I take out a mint
I put it in her hand and say, "You know, you smell nice, but you could always smell better"

I guess I didn't know that there was reason to the madness
That people wouldn't just believe anything that could cure their sadness
No it had to have a cause and it had to be explained
Even if the explanation causes all the laws to break
I felt a little disappointed when she put away her book, I know it wasn't me, no it was just her stop
Before she left I told her that this must be what fate is, she didn't smile, she must know I didn't mean it
