Liner Notes

For the past year I've written one orchestral soundtrack ambient sort of thing every week. I also try to do one pop instrumental, usually twangy guitars to to with a travel video I've made.

This video was of a completely iced over solitary tree at the edge of the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Stunning strange sight. I used almost every bell synth in GarageBand to make it icy enough.

Headphones strongly recommended. Also please note how I totally subvert your expectations with that, ahem, twangy guitar.

the opening is beautiful with the register contrast between the bells and the bass—and all that open space in between. really lovely track ᵔᴥᵔ i can absolutely hear the ice in this

The base melody is very catchy, I like it. The drums are a nice surprise that gives the song a bit more base and body, but I think my favorite bits are actually the more spacey, dreamy, ambient-like sections at the beginning and the end. Here, you can really dream away into a wintery wonderland. The bells make it very christmassy and wintery, which is nice, and I like how the bells seem to change throughout the song.
