The Fall Of The House Of The House Of B. Blanc

Liner Notes

Suddenly I've switched from an electronic direction to some sort of #goth / psychobilly / early 80s #post-punk thing. Given what we're all doing here, I just rolled with it. This all grew out of the opening couple of lines, which came into my head in the shower...

Lyrics

A castle within a castle
A wall behind a wall
And if you thought of asking
He wouldn't reply at all
This is the man who controlled our fate
Now he sits by the boiling lake

The fall of the house of the house of B. Blanc

He said, "Remove your glasses"
Then he told us to get rid of our eyes
And when the sky got clotted
He couldn't disguise his surprise
With a head filled up with nothing
A mouth that could speak only dread

The fall of the house of the house of B. Blanc

No castle inside the castle
No walls behind any walls
And if you thought of asking
He wouldn't reply at all
This is the man who controlled our fate
Now he rots by the boiling lake

The fall of the house of the house of B. Blanc

Been listening through your tracks and really enjoying what you've been making, and HAD to comment on this one. So fun! The bassline is such a groove. Also, English teacher I love the allusion to Poe and then I'm assuming to Knives Out. Anyway, badass and fun!

Aaaahhhhhh, I love those echo-y drums and that groovy bassline. Both are definitely essential to goth and post-punk stuff! Very cool sounds here throughout the track.

You've given me a whole new outlook on psychobilly. Really, really cool and intense.

Great 60’s sound. This is is very Animals meets the Doors meets the Monkees (Head era). Cool.

Really fun, I love the way it drops out into the chorus. Shower ideas always seem to work out well. Just now realising I haven't had one in a while (specifically an idea, I'm still showering). Wish I was rotting by a boiling lake right now smdh

Loving the energy of this!

Great production chops, but I have to give extra props for following a shower inspiration to see where it leads.

The sound & vibe remind me of the first album by "Tennis" but this is more edgy and insistent. I don't know if it's intended, but I can almost overlay hints at current events and, if that's the case, this is a nicely-done spotlight.

Rad! This feels like a lost track from the old school of post-punk.
