Bringer of Light

Liner Notes

I came across the ignored instruments challenge in the forums and as I haven’t played my Celtic harp in awhile I thought I’d pull her out of the corner and play something
The song turned out pretty dark which wasn’t my intention of the beginning, but hey, maybe that’s what’s needed
Brighid is a Celtic goddess of fire inspiration and healing and as the beginning of February, is her time I thought I make a song in tribute to her

The slow response of the violin to the gentle ripple of the violin (and a fire crackle?) and the clarity of those, versus the reverberating voice, gives this a serious incantations feel. Quite rivetting. And we're in dark times, wherever you look. ("How can we love each other?" Indeed.) (Divine inspiration from anywhere is needed. for sure. I should practice my viola, I can manage on-pitch slow music!)

Ah, this is beautiful--the title drew me in too. What a lovely song for the lady of light who comes at the darkest time. Beautiful mix of the light notes and the mournful violin. The harp is so lovely in this.

i'm naturally drawn to darker music, and this lands right. the harp is held at
a distance, perhaps cut off by the encroaching flames? this soundscape feels very therapeutic, so i hope that creating it was cathartic in some way...

The title drew me in, and it makes me joyful that this song is about Brigid! Yes, she is the bringer of light, in spite of all the darkness that seems to hold this troubled world in its clutch.

I LOVE the sound of that Celtic Harp! and I agree with @jimeddy9, the contract of the other instruments does keep it interesting, and your vocals almost sound like an enchantment of some kind, very meditative.
Nice work.

This is a fine midnight listen for a guy like me who loves some darker pagan folk musings. The contrast in the sound of the stringed instruments keeps the track interesting start to finish. Well done!
