Lust For Life

Liner Notes

oh i wish i had a boyfriend,,,

Lyrics

I found some comfort in letting it slip away
I took what i needed and called it an escape
I needed someone to hold me down and explain
It was always meant to be this way
The childish stories we tell about ourselves
Worrying that I’m worrying someone else
I wanted someone to ask if I’m okay
So that I’d admit to anything

So many ideas
You could build a graveyard here
I was spurned by my
Lust for life

You know there’s little that can sate my appetite
But I didn't come here merely to stuff my face
But if the table’s set
And a spot is open
And it looks inviting
I’ll keep my jaw agape

I made an altar but it was disposable
I made a promise not to let you sleep
But now the sun is out
And your eyes are open
But there’s no one home
Hey, are you awake?

Cool vibe! I really love that drop out and the build up into the final “so many ideas”, along with the harmonies at the end.

Hey you're a really good producer and songwriter! Great work. Also nice shout out to Girls in the liner notes.

Loving this 90's-esque alternative. Right up my alley! Good stuff! :)

This is very cool. The words but inventive and expressive. Backing tracks great. The vocal delivery really matches the words

The built to spill/pavement vibes are strong here and that drop out is super effective. There’s something brainwashy about it that is doin it for me too.

being an animal full of chemicals is messy
the slow, kind of messy style chugging along (especially after the break) and feedback are really bringing together the exasperated mood. i'm also loving getting to hear the new bass get all this varied genre experience!

Love the Pavement-y slacker-pop guitar vibes here! The harmonies on the chorus are so good and I love the breakdown bit at the end.
