Lyrics

V1
I know what you’re doing
It’s not that smart
You think you can just take
It all apart
Sooner or later it will
fall down on your head

I know that you think you’re
A real big shot
And that we should all want
The things you’ve got
But we don’t need any of your
Snake oil gravy train

Ch
Is time you leave and go away
So we can get back to the days
When our freedom wasn’t subject
To the highest bidder
This time we might not be okay
And things may never be the same
Time will tell if we’re in hell
or just in flames

V2
You don’t know what you’re doing
It’s clear to see
You’re just putting your fingers
In everything
But one of the days they’re gonna
Poke you in the eye

Ch
Is time you leave and go away
So we can get back to the days
When our freedom wasn’t subject
To the highest bidder
This time we might not be okay
And things may never be the same
Time will tell if we’re in hell
or just in flames

I love the pop feel underneath that lyrical message. It is infectious and pulls you in before you know it. Got me foot tapping along by the first chorus.

Love it. I want it on an album so I can listen to it all the time.

I love cool the vibe of this song. Nice production. The layers work very well together. Subject is important and you slip it in without overpowering the message.

Plus cow bell (envisioning Christopher Walken saying "I need more cowbell.")

Wow what a cool sound! Super chill pace but the subject is most definitely not chill, nor should it be. When I read the lyrics, they sounded pretty straight forward, but the timing and phrasing is excellent, as are the melody and harmonies. What a great song and definitely important-I wish that it was unnecessary. Great song and I’m glad that you’re on the mend and putting out great music again!
