Lyrics

At every touch point
The farm is offered
Lured in by its product marketing:
"It's lovely, dark, and deep"
But I’ve got currency to keep so
I take the road more traveled

Running circles
In stadiums ringed with ghosts
Nestled in the trees
They’re gaining on me
And you handed the baton
Contact barely made
And pulling away
We don’t have long

Here lies quiet
the woods beckon
My brethren and I
Are swept in
The sound of under-footfall
Twigs snapping,
More than three or four
–alarm bells–a dozen
A bear is here with me and my cousin

Hello Arkto
We’ve feared your name since long ago

Running laps
snapped ankles
like our track days
As before I need only be faster than you
burst through the hurdle
Quiet breaks with
Screams, and blood curdles
Not yet taken, not yet food

We used to say
There’s more cows than blades of grass
there’s more knives than stars in the sky
I don’t know why

Here’s a koan
You can go on without me
But then I’d always be with you
So follow along...

You used to carry a briefcase and say
“There’s something really wrong with it, but that’s part of the charm”
As the clasp released
Freely spilling marbles onto pavement
That was our business, then
Now one of us must buy the farm
It won’t be me

Hello Arkto
I dare not learn what they all know

I'mma be real, I have no idea what these lyrics are. And that makes them awesome. They are so specific and detailed that I feel like I'm peering into a story that's halfway through. Your instrumentation is always spot-on, love those riffs bouncing around in the middle.

Excellent work as always

I really like the intensity here: the drive of the music, the passion in your voice. I confess I’m not 100% sure what the lyrics all mean, but the music and vocals are delivered with such conviction that I absolutely believe you care, which makes me care in turn, and makes the whole experience so involving and exciting!
