Chapter 11: Vas Mortuorum
Double and Cutty return from Del’s to find Mr. Ri and Mrs. Leatherwood chatting up Lydia and filling her with cakes and tea. They ask the strangest questions like “Who did you see before you entered the jewel?”

She explains that she was searching for Knecht, a member of Sylvestre’s clan suspected of being behind Aric’s assassination. She was startled by an intruder, an old woman with a violin. And then she was no longer on this earth.

Mrs. Leatherwood answers a phone call in her kitchen. She returns to the living room to impart the news – Spassky is gone.

I enjoyed the quizzical opening. The percussion, like gentle footsteps or distant raindrops, hints beautifully at the tension to come, and the importance of the answers given as the plot unfolds, like a navigator might unfold his map to find his way to a naval battle.

The drone-y bass is cool and sets the tone for the song very well. All the other parts dance around it.

Cool drumbeat in here, like the passing of time, feels like its trying to move fast, but time also moves slowly as they ask the questions.

Nice heavy open into the break-beat. Love those synths. Menacing and informative. Those backwards sounds (how I hear some of the synths), very organic and metal. Very cyberpunk (which is something I love). Kudos.
