Challenge: MORSE CODE

Liner Notes

Inspired by the first transatlantic wireless broadcast from Cornwall to Newfoundland in 1901. There are a couple of bits of morse layered in there. One very obvious and one less so… so that’s the rhythmic inspiration. The lyrics are also heavily inspired by communication…

I love the melody that @oatst came up with for the lyrics I wrote. Far far better than the earlier demo that will never now see the light of day!

Lyrics

Standing on Signal Hill
Listening to the air
Solitary messages
From over there

When we talk
We talk in code
When we talk
We talk in code

Tune our devices
Recite our spells
The words we use are
About something else

When we talk
We talk in code
When we talk
We talk in code

@oatsg shadowy past in the realm of the spooks in full effect here.

Clever! You had some fun with this one (again!)

Hi. I thought your lyrics were interesting, although I don't think I understood the meaning. Also, I wasn't sure why you left long instrumental spaces between verses and choruses. I thought the Morse code sequences were interesting, too.

Very cool song. Great lyrics, and a pleasant melody, well performed. Fantastic adaptation of the challenge.
