The exciting new toy line / comic book / cartoon / proposed movie / merchandising synergy opportunity for 1991! Join the six foot high aspraguses as they attempt to fight crime, but more often than not cause it.
Withdrawn after half a season on ABC's Saturday Morning cartoon line up, after complaints from various state law enforcement unions and a cease-and-desist from the NRA. The theme song also drew ire from network bosses for being "scratchy".
Kevin Eastman admitted in 1996 that he felt Asparagus Police was "pure graphic fury"; Scott McCloud added that he couldn't help but agree and praised "the way the borders of the panels seem to glare at you, and then attempt to escape the page".

Awesomely unhinged - theremin? or theremin-ish? Either way.. an enjoyable romp. I remember the episode they went up against The Cream Cheese Bandits.
