Challenge: MORSE CODE

Liner Notes

First ever FAWM song, used the morse code inspo and started with 'undone' and 'becomes' on bass and synth. Added in some drums and melody and kept building from there. Focussed on having fun with this one (huge perfectionist guilty as charged). Decided to keep in my draft rhythm/ tune vox at the end and added to them to make them a feature. Big peter gabriel inspo on this one #electronic #pop #experimental

Lyrics

I am beginning to learn what is right what is wrong
No time to undo what has been I must now just become
Been here before like an open book
ready for the pages to turn
Open the door for a closer look
Cause there is still a lot more left to learn

I hold the key to the kingdom of sentient life
Won't twist in the lock but still I've got the end in my sights
Been here before but its been
Such a long long time
Open the door to the world that's been begging me to come inside

(instrumental)

Wait for the pages to turn
I've got a lot left to learn

Tremendous first up, a really interesting lyric and the whole match of rhythm melody harmony is top class! A beauty! Well played.

Wow, really dig that percussive Morse code rhythm and how you build and layer upon it. Cool sublime vocals and the way you sing it... really Becomes you! Well Done.

Blimey, what a fabulous first song! Respect how you’ve thrown yourself in the deep-end with the morse code thing, although the way you’ve used it is so seamless and clever that you’d assume those rhythms came out organically. The production is stellar, really love the overall sense of space, and your vocal performance and production are off the charts. Are the vaguely witchy sounding laughs in the background you too?! Great track, well done 👏

@atornberg thank you! I use logic mainly, ProTools is a hurdle I might try and tackle this year, but still very much an enigma to me!!
