Liner Notes

This was inspired by the #thanksihateit challenge. I knew it would take me a long time to put together *because* it's a genre that I don't usually have anything to do with...if it's a genre at all. But I'm curious about #electronic music, so off we go.

This started with a #pop rhythm section, created in Maschine with a sound library called Amplified Funk. I exported audio to Reaper, sort of doubled the percussion with a drum kit, and added an electric piano to establish the harmony. Then I added vocals. Final touches were horns, xylophone, synths, and clavinet for extra interest bits.

The lyrics came from somewhere on a line that extends through The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and on toward early Frank Zappa.
