I wrote the song in less than an hour, but was interrupted before I could post. In the meantime, I thought of adding some bluegrass instruments. I was born on a Wednesday and have always had a fondness for the day, but had heard it referred to as 'Monday in the middle of the week'... so I ran with it. Enjoy!

Lyrics

Monday in the Middle of the Week

I really tried to give that day a chance.
It seemed to be okay at first glance...
But, my god, it just drags on
At best, a great big yawn...
The slowest span from dusk to dawn.

Chorus:
Wednesdays, such a hopeful day...
Midpoint of the week, hip hip hooray!
Turns out it ain’t unique...
Ain’t really what we seek.
It’s Monday in the middle of the week.

Tuesday is much easier to cope...
One starts that day with much less hope.
Can’t hardly head downhill...
When you lack all your self will...
You may as well just try and sit there still.

Chorus:
Wednesdays, such a hopeful day...
Midpoint of the week, hip hip hooray!
Turns out it ain’t unique...
Ain’t really what we seek.
It’s Monday in the middle of the week.

Bridge:
Friday, Thursday, Monday, really ain’t much better...
Never claimed to be a go-out-and-a-getter...
Just tryin’ to live my life, with minimal strife...
So far, it’s turned out pretty nice.

Chorus:
Wednesdays, were a hopeful day...
Midpoint of the week, hip hip hooray!
Turns out it ain’t unique...
Ain’t really what we seek.
It’s Monday in the middle of the week.

Turns out it ain’t unique...
Ain’t really what we seek.
It’s Monday in the middle of the week.

I think there was some cookie tin or something in my childhood with sayings about the consequences of being born each day of the week. I think it claimed "Wednesday's Child is full of woe" That doesn't feel like it's true of you, Bob. I like how the lyrics feel like they just flow out - and there's this whole feeling that I guess I'll just stay home and pick and sing. Like a recipe for a good life every day of the week.
