Happy March Album Listening Month. If you have a song (or how about three songs, it's so hard to pick one) of yours you'd like me to listen to let me know.

Hi, Nancy! Thank you so much for your encouraging feedback on my songs. I love your musical storytelling and the engaging yet laid-back feel in your work. Yes, I would totally love to collab sometime! (Probably during this upcoming 50/90 as I'll be less busy with other things then.) :)
[avatar]
@siasa
Hey Nancy, thanks so much again for your kind comments on my output. Love your collaboration with @cheslain 'A little bit more of the same' - really great combination of well crafted lyrics and superb instrumentation. Great job!
[avatar]
Thanks for listening to "I won't," "YOLO," and "Stop Draggin' My Heartbreak Around," and thanks for the great supportive comments!

Also, 81 songs! Wow! Nice job!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for listening! Yes "High Noon" has been a great match:D
[avatar]
@jsini
Nancy, thank you so much for the time and attention you put into listening to our songs. Wow! You are a prolific writer! An interesting point on the song you made a comment on of ours - Wilderness- it actually isn't life on the river as in being on a boat. Here, in Alaska, there are many rivers that are really, really remote. The expression, living on the river, actually means on the side of the river in a remote cabin. (At least it does for me and I go back here a few generations :) ). But, when I read your comment about thinking it was a boat, I drew an inspiring image of how isolated a boat can be and how similar that is to the remoteness of living in the "Bush". (Another term for being 'out there') Thanks again! - Suzanne
[avatar]
Nancy, thank you for your thoughtful comments on my songs! Yes, I plan to give 50/90 a try. I think it'll be less stressful because there's no way anyone could actually write 50 songs in 90 days. (Looks at Nancy's total of 81 songs in 28 days.) OK, there's no way *I* can write 50 songs in 90 days. So I'm excited to see what I, and all of us, come up with.

Hi
I’m new this year, what’s the 5090?
Can’t wait to hear the undersea volcano 😄
[avatar]
@beej
Thanks for coming back to listen to "can't let go" - appreciate it!!
[avatar]
Thanks for all the lovely comments Nancy, I’m glad you like the character, she was originally born FAWM 2022 in my ‘Dearest Mother’ song which is on soundcloud. I think there’s plenty more stories for her to tell, I like the idea you gave, food for thought!
[avatar]
To me, her song, Camelot Motel, is about as good a folk Americana song as has ever been written! I put it right up there with anything Prine or Dylan did!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, for a proper intro to Mary Gauthier, I recommend her Filth and Fire album then her Mercy Now album. All her stuff is good but Filth and Fire just shines with her brilliant songwriting and soulful performance.
[avatar]
Hi Nancy
Thanks for your delightful thoughts on my lyrics, Octopus Dreams & Bewitching, why don't you have a go at making them come to life. I'm just a lyricist so if you hear a tune and are a musician, we can make a new collaboration!
It might be March but that's hardly the point ;-)
[avatar]
@gb9
Thank you for your kind comments and thoughts on 'Drama Queen', I love imagine the music for them. Thank you!!
[avatar]
@brisk
I love your analysis on Whole White Moon; it also made me smile because it made me realise what a confidence trick parenting really is!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, thank you so much for your kind words about Sweet Baby Dream! It is one of my faves of all my songs!
[avatar]
Thanks for all the listens! I've got lyrics for the other 3 tunes from Feb thanks to another FAWMer, just need to record them. Would love to collaborate in the future, however! I'm definitely planning to do 5090 this year!
[avatar]
Thanks Nancy! Your Little Emily comment really made me smile - big Dickens fan over here :)
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on "Ground Calling". I wasn't sure what kind of interpretations that phrase would raise in a native speaker but I suspected it would be something like Major Tom exactly. Maybe it's a nice surprise that in the context of the lyric it turns out to be something completely different? "Left foot in the grave" is a direct translation of a Finnish proverb btw. Took a chance on that too.
[avatar]
@gb9
Thank you for your thoughts on 'Celebrate' I can't imagine music to any of my lyrics so it was illuminating to know how you perceived it. Thank you.
[avatar]
@phylo
Wow, Nancy! Thanks for the lovely comments on 3 of my tunes and one collab. You're very kind! And another wow! for 81 songs. I'm so impressed. I've put you on my watchlist and I shall sample a few of your tunage as well. Thanks again!
[avatar]
Lol, Nancy! Yes, I remember those late night road-trip radio dramas! Wow! Haven’t thought of them in years. Thanks so much for stopping by.
[avatar]
Oh wait, I just assumed you were only a lyricist, but I heard a few songs on SoundCloud and here that sound like they must be you singing. Awesome. Love your Radney Foster quote.
[avatar]
You're quite the detective, even finding quick proof-of-concept demos hidden in comments on soundboards.

As for your comments on melody, there used to be a challenge called Auto Pseudo Mondo here on FAWM where they posted a lyric with chords written above the words, and your challenge was to record your version. So you were basically "inventing" melody and arrangement. Over 50 people posted songs and no two were alike. In fact, to my ears, no two were even remotely similar. Songwriting is an amazing puzzle of melded inspiration to me.

Based on your number of songs it appears you're like me and can write a lyric in 5 or 10 minutes. Excited to hear your recordings some day. It's inside you, you hear it. Might as well let it out, right? ❤️
[avatar]
Vielen Dank für Deine netten Kommentare zu hiccup buttercup und bad hairday in Berlin. Saya sedih... ist indonesisch
[avatar]
thank you for listening and making astute comments on five of my songs this morning. what more could a person ask for in the FAWM experience?
[avatar]
funny you hear blues in heaven as an answer to songwriter heaven, as it functions as such on my bandcamo album, which places blues in heaven right after songwriters heaven
[avatar]
Hey Nancy! Thank you for those wonderfully observant comments a few days back! 😄
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my songs, woah, you have a lot of your own there! What a productive FAWM you had! I'm going to take a wee while this weekend to listen through some of the ones I've missed.
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! Thanks for checking out "Love Me Like I Love You" that @arthurrossi put together. We did two songs together and both turned out quite well, I think. If you're curious, the other song we teamed up on is "I Never Wanted to Say Goodbye".
[avatar]
Ein wieder Treffen würde mich auch sehr freuen!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, we got the variations on the prelude complete!
https://write.fawm.org/songs/24674
[avatar]
@gb9
Thank you for your kind comments and appreciation of 'Intoxicated' and 'Begin Again'. I don't have much musical knowledge so I can't even imagine how my songs could sound.... I don't even have a melody going through my head when I'm writing songs.
With regards to 'Begin Again' the refrain that could repeat across the song would be 'Could we/ should we begin again?'

Thanks again for your thoughts on my work and congrats on an incredible FAWM!
[avatar]
I'll definitely let you know! I'm hoping to have it up today, but it might bleed into tomorrow. We recorded over an hour of source material of ideas, just sitting down at the piano and playing. Now its just going through and curating it and putting together a much shorter "highlights" version.
[avatar]
@beacon
Nancy, I was trying to send an email to @kcflowers but her email address isn't on her profile. Could you ask her to get in touch with me, either on here or my email?
[avatar]
@jeff9
Thanks, Nancy, for checking out Somebody Worse and Rannock Moor. I need to look up Lucia di Lammermoor. Always grateful for your encouraging words. Helps keep the fires lit.
[avatar]
@nadine
Super cool, congrats! Haha please bring me some bacon cheese burger or something else with a lot of cheese! Have a great trip
[avatar]
@nadine
You're welcome! Well I'm closer to the sweet spot, but im not there yet. I burned out at week 3. And now I'm super loaded with work again. I think I wrote too much so I won't be around in summer. How was your FAWM?
[avatar]
@leepat
great! sending you an email shortly.
[avatar]
@n24
Thank you so much for your lovely and insightful comments on my tracks! Its so kind of you, its been a pleasure to be a part of FAWM and this is my second year so I reckon I'm hooked at this point :p
[avatar]
@andrea
Nancy, I love your comments on Forevermore. Thank you so much for the after FAWM listen! I was browsing through your organization of collaborations and am blown away. Congratulations on a very productive and wonderful FAWM. I still have 3 weeks to do some listening :)
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for your comment on "99 points of karma". Sorry I had to Google, so Chuck E Cheese is a fast food restaurant with a big playground? Sounds like a paradise for the kids!
[avatar]
@andrea
Hi Nancy, Thanks for your interest in listening to Forevermore. The demo is now up on FAWM. I hope you like it :) Thanks, Andrea
[avatar]
Thanks for listening and commenting so kindly on “An Alcoholic’s Tale”, Nancy! And for planting the wonderful idea in my head that I was actually collaborating with my (much) younger self - I really hadn’t thought of it like that! I wish now that I could go back in time and play the song to him - I wonder what he’d think of it? I wonder what he’d think of me? Probably best not knowing! Thanks so much again! :-)
[avatar]
[avatar]
Vielen Dank für Deine Rückmeldung!
[avatar]
@leepat
haha, a dying aria, you nailed it :) still looking for theory takers - if you know someone interested...
[avatar]
I prefer a one month FAWM. I look forward to it, spend as much time as possible on it, and then catch up on the rest of my life in March. I can’t imagine trying to do 50/90. Now I can transcribe my songs into a score, improve them, maybe record them, or least do a YouTube video. But since you did 82 songs in 28 days, I guess 50/90 is not intimidating! See you next year.
[avatar]
@andrea
What an impressive FAWM you have had. Congratulations! Thanks for checking out The Shadow and Forevermore. I'll let you know when Jon finds time to make the recordings :)
[avatar]
@hakk
Thank you for your interest @nancycunning ! Now the demo is in its place for Kaukomaille. Here you go: https://write.fawm.org/songs/24802

@pippa
Hi Nancy, thanks for your comment on Cattle Annie. I love how Steve puts his words together. And I just wanted to say that most of the story is true, so far as we know it, except 1896 should really be 1895, but we needed the rhyme... haha! You've been incredibly productive, impressive. And I've enjoyed the way you put your words together, too. I'll listen some more.
[avatar]
@gslade
81??? geez... I took a whole week off of work and still managed at most 1 a day, other then 2 right off the bat,,but those were lyrics brewing for a while... lemme check out some of these.. (crack knuckles)

((not my knuckles))

(((the neighbor's)))
[avatar]
If you do fancy sending any lyrics my way - if your appetite for collaborating isn't entirely sated yet - I'm at corinne DOT lucy AT gmail DOT com. 😊
[avatar]
Thank you for you kind comments on "The man Who's Slill in love with you. I'm slowly working my way through your songs - so far I've enjoyed My Mom's pushing 80 and He's a Map of Ireland,
[avatar]
Vielen Dank für deine lieben Kommentare! Ich hab mich sehr gefreut.
And I'm looking forward to listening to more of your songs soon. You've been amazingly productive, it takes some time to scroll down to get to the comment box...
[avatar]
@nadine
Seems like you're the queen of collaboration this year. Your output is stunning and the list of collaborations endless!
[avatar]
@johns
Thanks, Nancy, Gordon did a great job on this collab.
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your very generous and thoughtful comments on my songs, Nancy! You made my day! :-)
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments!
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your very thoughtful and detailed comments! I'm glad my lyrics resonated with you in such a deep way. I agree, community has to be built up gradually, but it is so hard to be patient! You've had an amazing FAWM! I can't wait to come back and listen!
[avatar]
Wow, your comment on King of Spain (comparing me to Randy Newman and Leon Russel) is one of the best compliments I've ever gotten! Thanks!
[avatar]
@kosch
Thank you for spinning - and the kind words about - my song "John Henry Never Named His Hammer"
And with a small re-write on the last couple lines...I believe I will take your title suggestion - it is a better feel to end wondering....
[avatar]
Nancy, Thanks for your little tribut/link in your comments on "Soul". Gglad we got to collab on "Alive the Beauty" . See you next year if not before.
[avatar]
Hey, yes you should definitely get a cigar box guitar! They’re such good fun and by only having 3 strings, it’s far easier to play something melodic with a slide, than on a regular 6 string. Ps it’s blown my mind that you managed to write 81 songs in February, that’s amazing! 👌
[avatar]
Merci pour tes commentaires !
I like to take the harmonica out of its usual tracks. So thank you for noticing it sounded different on "nos sornettes"
[avatar]
I absolutely love and adore you! Collaborating with you is a joy and I love our weekly confabs! Thanks for leading me down this path of songwriting bliss(ters)
[avatar]
I appreciate the thoughtful comment on "Do You Ever Wish..." 😄
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment. I don't think anyone said my songs gave them a "feeling" so that's a really special compliment to me. It's one thing to comment on observations but if you can affect someones feelings or dare I say emotions, that's something!
[avatar]
It was actually me doing the Muppet voice in Awesome 101. 😀
I see you've got a lot of songs I can and should catch up on!
[avatar]
I see why your entire soundboard is filled with dozens, maybe hundreds, of people thanking you for your comments. Yours made me feel like I'd done what I set out to do, on each song you commented on. I've been laughing with delight while @woolford was crying (I guess we are different 😆) but both of us now have the biggest smiles on our faces (and it's not *that* hard). I don't know if you write lyrics all year round, but if you'd ever like to email me some and collab, let me know - I'll be here through March. Thank you so much for your insight and soul.
[avatar]
Hey, thanks so much for continuing to listen to my songs. I'm really glad you like, and very kind of you to recommend me to another FAWMer too 😊 congrats on the mammoth output! 81 songs!? That's insane. I don't know how that's even possible. But quite the achievement. Time to rest for me now, I think!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, you may well have just single-handedly convinced me to come back next year. I've been really struggling over Feb and wondering what the point of it all is. That you've taken time to listen to my songs and write such considered comments has meant the world to me. I will do another mass collab next year - and I hope it will be much bigger! Seriously, thank you. I really needed what you gave me yesterday.
[avatar]
"Suits" double meaning (lawsuits, lawyers/govmnt men in suits) applies in Australian English as well as American English. Don't know about the King's English (Besides I always thought he was basically scotch/german!!! :D :D :D )
[avatar]
Thanks for your thoughtful comments on my songs, Nancy. Considered and constructive words mean a lot. :)
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your feedback on a bunch of my songs. My grandfather's shoe store was a destination for senators' wives coming up from DC. It was The French Bootery. He sold French, women's shoes. Nothing else. At the going out of business sale, there were no size 9 shoes.

Toshi was a force of nature. Wife of a banjo player named Pete. If it weren't for her, you'd have never heard of him. I really wanted the song to be present tense until the end, as her memory lives on with so many of us.

I've written a few times about NYC. I moved away once I finished college, a long time ago. But especially after 9/11, I'm never at ease there. I have a song that talks about that more directly that I'd written a few years back. I should record a demo of that one.

Again thanks for the comments. Much appreciated.
[avatar]
@b3nut
Thank you for the kind comments on my songs! I really had an enjoyable time this year despite my usually-cold studio! 😀 Cheers! 🍻
[avatar]
You are always spot on with your feedback. Thanks for "getting" the songs. And yes, all the vocals are me. ;) Songs often come to me in the car. Never placed it with the fact that's where my mom and I would sing, but I bet that's totally why. Thanks for the insight!
[avatar]
Nancy,
Thanks for your generous appraisal of "Soul". Not by best effort but Pauls lyrics totally resonate with me. Thanks for you reference to Nature and Nurture too. Also some profound teachings in ththose lyrics too
[avatar]
Thanks for all the kind words! I appreciate the feedback
[avatar]
Hi! So stoked to see how many songs and collaborations you got up to during FAWM! You mentioned listening to other's songs in your profile, and I still have one zong that I rather like and wanted some feedback on, as I was only able to record a minimal demo for. I want to do a fully fleshed version later this year. Could I get some feedback or a critique on "Bufflehead Pt. 2"? Thanks! https://write.fawm.org/songs/23533
[avatar]
What a prolific FAWM you had! I intend to get through some more of them. Thank you for all the kindness on my songs. "like a meat hook in the guts more than a fish hook in the foot" may be one of the most wonderfully strange compliments I've ever received.
[avatar]
Thanks for your thoughtful comments on "Looking for a Place." I do have a few songs where I opt to have multiple examples of people experiencing (or demonstrating) something in common to show more universality. I agree, it is a good question to ponder in writing...go deep with one character or have different example. I've gone both ways...depends at least in part on the overall point, I suppose. Thanks for listening closely and commenting accordingly. Congrats on your massive song list, btw...rather incredible!
[avatar]
Full time, that'd do it...I'm thinking of the couple of years where I did 1000+ comments and 50-60 songs, can't maintain that now, to much else happening. Collabs? You're on. I try to do 50/90 and usually start well then everything else falls apart. (!)
[avatar]
81! However did you do it (and it's not just collabs!) Glad you're enjoying my channel. My listening has been a disaster this disjointed fawm and will get more so in a couple of days, but one tries..
[avatar]
Thanks for inviting me. I did manage to do 14 songs that I actually like. Time to take a break!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, thanks for listening to "My Three Years at Sea"! Comments much appreciated!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy - sorry for taking so long to respond. Thanks for listening, and I'd love to try collaborating. I'm hoping to try 50/90 this year, so that might be a good opportunity!

Now that we're in March, I plan to check out more of your songs as well.
[avatar]
Nancy - The shades are being pulled down of FAWM. It was my first adventure here and it was made so much better by finding lyrics that grabbed my attention like "The Only Way to Hang On" and "It's All Okay". Thanks for letting me create some music for you. Let's do it again sometime.
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on Not My Circus. Art's always open to interpretation; love your perspective and feedback.
[avatar]
@andrea
Wow, what an amazing FAWM you have had! Thanks for your comments on These Haunted Dreams (V2). I look forward to spending some time in March catching up on your songs.
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your comments on my songs. FAWM has been amazing.
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, thanks for the nice comment on Coiled Spring. To answer your question, the guitar part came first then @wobbiewobbit wrote the lyrics. Together we worked on the structure but the guitar components were there at the start.
[avatar]
Thanks for your comments - I recorded my songbook song - renamed it “Write a Song.”
[avatar]
@andrea
Thanks for your comments on These Haunted Dreams (V2). Much appreciated.
[avatar]
@cola
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed them!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you Nancy! I'm happy you enjoyed "Magnetic Rose". I really enjoy these 4 track and randomo collabs. You never know what happens but the result is amazing. Congrats to that... 4 times win of FAWM? Or is it already 5? You're productive!
[avatar]
Thanks and the Harmony Singers did this one
https://write.fawm.org/songs/17407
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on Dear Summer! My college memories are with different kind of music but I too find the song to have a strong bittersweet feeling of nostalgia.
[avatar]
My kids are young enough and really enjoyed it! Thanks for the listen and for your ear for a few minutes👂
[avatar]
Karl has asked for Winter Rain, but maybe something in the future. The issue is that I only occasionally sing, and wouldn't want to wreck one of my instrumentals, haha. I sing when I write songs with my dad's lyrics and that's about it.
[avatar]
Just posted our same name challenge song. What a fun song! Thanks so much for suggesting this.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind comments on Imposter Syndrome. I appreciate you listening so much!!
[avatar]
Nancy thank you so much for the notes you left on some of my songs, I'm glad you enjoyed them. I appreciate that very much!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, I've got a demo up for Outward Facing Bud if you want to have a listen.
[avatar]
i wanted to add a note about the sister in back to the stars. we had our baby in vitro and there were two embryos. one of them didnt make it . from the time she could talk, our daughter talked a lot about her sister, who didnt make make it, but went back to the stars. and she looked forward to being with her again when the time came for her to return to the stars. now at the age of seven, she doesnt remember anything about her sister.
[avatar]
Oh wow thanks for the compliment. Just yesterday I thought about if my name is good enough, if I should change it. So I’m happy you like it :)
[avatar]
oh my gosh, I just realized when you wrote Can't hear it with my headphones on, you were quoting my lyric! haha I wrote the song so fast, that I forgot I wrote that!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on my song Tik Tok Rap/social media blues. I'm not sure why you couldn't hear it in your headphones. Yes, I have a tt account and lately I have been posting my original songs on. Look me up at christinerealtormom if you are on tt.
[avatar]
I actually was trying not to get sucked into FAWM this year, because I know I'm in a really bad place health-wise and need to have higher priorities. But it goes "oh, I'll just look at the forums" and then, "I'll just do this challenge real quick", and so on.... And now I have 7 songs posted or basically ready to post and at least 12 more half-written and I'm skipping meals to work on them. It's a genuine addiction.
[avatar]
Thank you!
[avatar]
@tspoon
Thanks for the kind words on my songs!
[avatar]
Just a note to let you know I emailed you tracks for the Nancy collab. Any concerns, let me know. :-)
[avatar]
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on ‘Tomorrow’ they’re appreciated!
[avatar]
thank you for your comments on back to the stars. ill let you in on a secret. that first verse is a nearly verbatim transcription of things my daughter said to me when she was four years old. so the star and dinosaur actually do get along quite well...but you are rightgt..after reality comes the symbols, the metaphors. and in this world, the dinosaurs threaten the extinction of the stars.
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comment on "The End is Coming For Us" -- yes, it's a bit of a downer, in the end (and all the way through). ;) Luckily not based on my marriage!
[avatar]
Wow, Nancy! At 64 and still churning them out! It’s been a very productive FAWM for you. Congratulations on a plethora of some very fine songs! Keep in touch… I think our work together is very strong. Thanks!
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind words on "Keep it Together"!
[avatar]
Glad you liked my blues this morning. Funnily enough, your suggestion was the plan I started out with. Verse One the thirties, verse two the 70s, verse three today. But the song took its own turns and I went with them.
[avatar]
Thankyou so much for your kind words on my songs, Nancy. It's good to be back even though I started very very late! I'm glad FAWM is a flexile welcoming bunch!
[avatar]
Thank you for the comments on my song, "Necco Candy Hearts". Yup, I toured NECCO when it was near MIT. Then it moved to Rt. 107 in Revere (or "Reeveeah" for those who don't live in Massachusetts). I think a venture capital company bought it, so it doesn't exist as its own candy company anymore (They also were known for the Sky Bar), but NECCO (New England Confectioners Co) lives on in the Candy Hearts.
[avatar]
I finished the music on Something from Nothing--I hope you like it.
[avatar]
@muz
@WobbieWobbit did a marvellous job of coaching me through the vocals On Our Palestinian Flag. I enjoyed the process - it was fun! I'm really glad she persuaded me to have a go.

I've also uploaded a couple of other lyrical songs on Palestine that I wrote some time ago. I thought you might want to collaborate on one or both of them. They're both written for the female voice. Rachel's song in particular as this is written in the voice of a young American girl - Rachel Corrie - who went to Palestine to defend the rights of the Palestinians. The other is a companion piece but written (mostly) in the voice of a young Palestinian nurse. They're both pretty long though and since I wrote them well before FAWM, they're not going to count towards it.
[avatar]
Funny enough, I think you DID return that comment about Every Town, haha. We've officially reached that time when all comments and songs blend together in a big chili. Hahaha. (still working on that 3-way collab, hopefully send you a ref track today or tomorrow)
[avatar]
I thank you for taking time to stop by and taking time to comment .
[avatar]
Thanks for your remarks on my "You Know Who" song. I really did not (consciously at least) write it in response to that thread. I got the musical idea first, then the first couple of lines about running into someone from the past. The former girlfriend thing just kind of occurred to me as I was finishing the first verse, so I ran with it. Then when I was done, I thought, oh crap, another one of those songs that will probably never see the light of day!
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I'll have to listen to This Old Porch.
[avatar]
That sounds amazing! Please do! Feel free to use the email link on my FAWM profile -- look forward to reading them!

Thank you for those sweet comments about "Gabrielle", Ms Cunningham. And I took a look at those fabulous lyrics of yours.
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind comments! My main problem was lack of lung capacity and tiredness but I'm a lot better now. I'm glad you liked it.
[avatar]
Mach ich! Danke! 😃
[avatar]
Thank you Nancy! I'd love to do another collab. If you've got some lyrics, send 'em my way :)
[avatar]
Nancy, I really appreciate your message, thank you for reaching out to me and yes, my Evan is a computer geek and it is nice he can help his mom, I just don't want this happening during FAWM LOL!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, thanks for the nice comment on "To Kiss You", much appreciated.
I'll let you know when I get a demo out there.
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind comment again! :) I'm very pleased that it sounds nautical! Must have been my half-sleeping-brain who did that unconsciously. And the closeness of "Matrose" and "Matratze" never even occoured to me - haha, thanks for sharing! :)
[avatar]
Thanks for the kind words on one of my tunes. I like your style as well! Impressed!
[avatar]
Looking forward to working with you on a random collaboration. I sent you an email.
[avatar]
Thanks, I'll take a look at those lyrics!
[avatar]
Hi, Nancy! Thanks for the compliments on NY Radio. I guess it got flagged for my use of the F word in the liner notes.
[avatar]
@muz
Hi there Nancy. Thanks for your comment on my song! My brother gets the credit for the first line. @DreamScuba did the music for Our Palestinian Flag and he did a great job, it sounds fantastic. @WobbieWobbit was going to do the vocals but this is before she realised that there was a mention of religion in the lyrics and she's an athiest! She's persuaded me to give them a go, but I'm no singer. But I've promised to give it a try out tommorow. How do you fancy doing the vocals? We've still got a week or so to do it. It would be lovely to have you on board!
[avatar]
And thank you for your kind words on my walking song and "Silenced or Seen" - I want to add harmony vocals I think, but that'll require some work on both!

Love that the staff made you think of fantasy. I spend a lot of time with druids so a staff is genuinely a tool for walking nowadays, in my mind 😅 so weird to realise that's not true for most people, and very cool that it adds a layer.

And yes, even the hard stories can be friends for sure, guides with tough love, or mirrors to say we're not alone in the dark times. Little Mermaid has variously been both, and an inspiration to dream too, for me. Do you have a story like that?
[avatar]
Just emailed you some same name lyrics, if it's not too late. Took a little longer than expected.
[avatar]
thank you for your insights about "peace and quiet". Great suggestions! I hope to work on it more before the month is over but we'll see. If I come up with something, I'll tag you so you can check it out.
[avatar]
Oooh yes, more drunken sailor filking! What shall we do with... ? A Rowdy teacher? A Sleepy student? An undead mayor???
[avatar]
Also can I just say I’m so impressed and amazed at the amount of songs you have written already, can’t wait to have a good listen!
[avatar]
Thank you for the lovely comments on my last two songs, your kind words are very much appreciated.
[avatar]
Duty Calls demo is now up - multitasking today...
[avatar]
Danke für deinen Kommentar, mit mehr Zeit hätte ich noch mehr Vokabeln gefunden , hhh ;-)
[avatar]
I just want to take a moment to reassure you that the next to last verse of my version of Shut The Front Door was NOT aimed at you. LOL
[avatar]
Nancy, thanks so much for your kind words and support of my writing. Writing is my strong suit and guitar not so much. Having not written anything or played guitar for 3 years (took me to deep dark unfriendly places), I am happy to have written 14 decent (IMHO) sets of lyrics. Now I will take my time to add music at my own pace. Looking forward to that chapter now!
[avatar]
Awesome! Thank you!
[avatar]
thank you for your comments on "One Whole" Glad you like it. Wow, you have a lot of songs so far! I'm so impressed! I'll try to listen to some and respond!
[avatar]
Thanks for checking out my lyric for Who's the Bear - I definitely was smiling writing those silly lines.
[avatar]
Thank you for the encouraging words! The lion skirmish was fun, for sure! Though I was intending to get an early night tonight... And now I just want to write some more!

So glad someone picked up on the drumming in the forest vibe my brain was jamming to from the moment the prompt appeared 😁
[avatar]
Thanks for the lovely comment on my animal lullaby - if you have any interest (or time given your prolific output) in putting it to music you would be welcome to!
[avatar]
i think your songwriter heaven turned out wonderful. i posted it today. https://write.fawm.org/songs/19617
[avatar]
Thanks Nancy for listening to my Whisper of a Chance! The lyrics will quite likely be very few...while I talk a lot IRL, my lyrics tend to be extremely lean. 😹
[avatar]
Thank you for your comment on the self sabotage song 😀
I also started playing Pokemon Go with my sons. They've long turned to cooler games but I'm still playing 😑 (well others walk their dog, I walk my smartphone 😜 )
[avatar]
Thank you so much for the very kind words on This Year!! That made my day. Let me know if I can help with any of your technical stuff. Big hug
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, yes you will need a new mic to record with your audio interface. The purpose of a USB mic that hooks directly into the computer is for people without an audio interface. - you will be amazed at the difference in sound quality if you use your interface for recording and also connect speakers to it. - if I can help clarify, let me know.
[avatar]
Thank you for your insightful comments. You helped me see the importance of the neutral observer in “Converge Align and Synchronize” and other details in other songs that I had overlooked at first.
[avatar]
Dear Nancy, I adore the book Geek Love. It's one of my top ten!
[avatar]
And really, if you have an idea for a text with a tree house... I'd love it.
[avatar]
Thanks a lot for your comments Nancy <3
[avatar]
I like your - "Life or Death Mantra" comment on "Stop - Rest"
[avatar]
@gm7
Thx you. You are having an awesome FAWM..36..HOLY MOLY...
[avatar]
Thanks for listening and your kind comments on my Seaside Shuffle!
[avatar]
Ha ha! I'm glad you've been enjoying my music. With my job and some other activities, I'm a little behind on writing and posting. But, I felt that whip crack, so hopefully I'll get moving again tonight. :-) Seriously, thank you for the listens.
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind comments on The Slump :)
[avatar]
I’m glad you liked my alternate version of Again. You could keep collecting lists of favorite books or songs and perform this song until it was as drawn out as a child’s bedtime. You really have a knack for writing singable lyrics!
[avatar]
Thanks for the invite -- I hope to be back to say "let's do it." I'm trying my first collabs this week and we'll see if I'm any good at it!

And thanks for listening to "Carl Perkins and the Meaning of Life," "You Give Good Text," and "You Give Good Text" -- I really appreciate the kind comments and encouragement!
[avatar]
Okay, I will give Again and Again a try. And if you're up for a prompt, how about Something from Nothing?
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, I just listened to it - it is so beautiful! sounds like a chant! thank you for this! And yes, you can use my real name.
[avatar]
Thank you for your comments on my lyrics!
I've never intentionally sat down and wrote a lot of lyrics(especially trying to span several styles) and it's really standing out to me that I love rhyme and I love that simple hopscotch/jumprope type of beat. Glad they brought out the nostalgia for you.
[avatar]
@ohdeer
The open mic was good. I run an Originals Only open mic and tonight was really busy. Lovely.
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, what a nice message on "The Outward Facing Bud"! Glad to be an inspiration, I'll give you a shout when the demo is up...
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my collab song with crisp1 "All the Time in the World".
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on my song "Lost Soulmate". Congrats on your trophy!! I hope to do more listening once I get closer to mine!!!
[avatar]
Congrats on your early WIN!!! Keep writing!
[avatar]
Nancy,
Glad you like it. Please thank your good husband for reading to you. I may reach out to the Jonathan Edwards study center at Yale University to see if they might be interested in preserving the song.
[avatar]
Thanks very much for the kind and encouraging words. :)
[avatar]
Well don't tell anybody but I don't know how to sing harmony either. LOL. I just smash a bunch of vocal takes together and hope for the best. So we can all hope for the best together! I'll send you an email with the particulars. :)
[avatar]
hiya Nancy! I'm doing a collab in the country/Americana/rock genre and I thought it might be cool to add a female voice to a male baritone and a male baritone-tenor. Each person would lead a verse and add some harmonies to the others and a full chorus of voices. Love your voice and thought of you! Are you interested at all? Lemme know. :)
[avatar]
@chroes
Hey Nancy, thank you so much for letting me know you like my interpretation of your lyrics! I'm really glad you are happy with it. Es war mir eine Freude! 💖
[avatar]
Nancy, Thanks for those Alive in the Beauty of Light" Lyrics. The sound file is now live! I put it to music that feels right for the subject matter (at least as I understand it - i.e. its not exactly "Sin ners in The Hands of An Angry God" Music! the way some might understand the role of J.Edwards in Colonial history). I feel like the music is a little on the pedestrian side due to my limited skills on the guitar. Feel free to look for different musical interpretations
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind comment on "Let Go."--Andrew
[avatar]
Hey, thanks so much for stopping by "Fokus", https://write.fawm.org/songs/17092! It's my first experiment with this singer-songwriter style, with its highly acoustic arrangements, and I'm *really* curious what people think about it. Highly appreciate your feedback!
[avatar]
@nadine
Thanks for checking out "Pay it forward". Yes, Nadias piano inspired me and I love Caitlins additions. Thank you!
[avatar]
Nancy! Your message made my whole night. Thank you :) And way to get that double FAWM halfway through February!
[avatar]
@lcad
Thanks so much for your comment, great to be back at fawm and wonderful to see you back too!
[avatar]
Thanks for checking out T.P. I loved playing with the dichotomy between fantasy / reality and I love your take of childhood / adulthood too!
[avatar]
Thank you for your comment on Let Go, I'm sorry it made your stomach hurt! I'm glad you got something out of it though. I used to breathe in and then on the out breath say silently in my head 'Let it go' and that really helped with getting to sleep, that's what gave me the idea for making the verses so tense and the chorus so open. Thanks again for the encouragement.
[avatar]
Thank you very much for your many comments. That means a lot to me. I learned the overtones with the help of a YouTube video. You find your meditative, deep tone, shape your mouth so that a resonating body is created in it. Then you line up the consonants a-e-i-o-u and later vary them with ö ä and ü. With tongue, lip and jaw movements, the resonances in the mouth and throat are combined in such a way that individual overtones sound so loud that they are perceived as individual tones. It's unfamiliar at first, but it's worth trying out ;)
[avatar]
Thank u for the feedback
[avatar]
Hi Nancy!
Just a heads up, if you are interested, I loaded a demo for "Returns".
thanks!
Bob McK
[avatar]
@jeff9
Wow, Nancy--thank you so much for so many lovely comments about "Wishing", "Closing TIme" and "Sounds Like a Song". I feel guilty that I'm not doing much lyric writing on FAWM this time around, but I'm getting lots of great opportunities for collabs with talented lyricists. Looks like you're being incredibly productive with both songwriting and listening to others' work. How do you do it???
[avatar]
Thank you for your feedback on Dutch. I really appreciate your observations!
[avatar]
Wistful is my wheelhouse! :) Thanks.
[avatar]
Your lyrics to "The Only Way To Hang On" are now posted. . It's a very simple tune and accompaniment. Probably needs one or two more verses to bring it up into the vicinity of 3 minutes
[avatar]
Many thanks for your kind words on "Release Me (Release Me Love)" - a one take Vox/guitar recording is now up :)
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on "Rumors"!
[avatar]
@nadine
You're welcome! I really like random collabs cause you get no idea who you get! Sometimes the chemistry just works, like in your case. I can imagine this song in the radio. One of my best songs happened because of a random collab. I'm struggling entering as musician, cause I cannot sing and play well enough for some weird ideas xD
[avatar]
Thanks, a collab might be nice! I'm having a lot of trouble getting time to focus on writing. Frustrating.
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! I just sent you a melody to your email. It'll be fun to see what you come up with.
[avatar]
Thank you for your thoughtful reviews of my music! You are right on target with your insights! Thanks for listening.
[avatar]
So glad you went back to hear my Winer's Tale, Nancy. Wow, looking at your list above, I have some catching up to do!
[avatar]
hi nancy, during fawm i do my solo project in the first half of the month and then collaborations during the second half so give some thought as to what we might do together and we can decide on something next weeki.
[avatar]
Same old Jonathan Edwards who started the Great Awakening in prerevolutionary America. He got educated by the indians in the old-fashioned Buddhist satori way. There is a native American sacred place near Stockbridge, MA just as there was one in East Royalton, VT near the farm where Joseph Smith was born & raised. Got any good lyrics for me? My voice is a wreck and my guitar playing imperfect, though!
[avatar]
I didn't get very adventurous on the harmony challenge because I had no idea how experience the other members would be so I was scared of gravitating towards my love of tense and colourful notes as that could potentially make it hard to fit 3 other voices around. So it is a very simple song, in my head I imagined a kids choir singing it.
[avatar]
“I owe my life to my truth-telling friends” is a terrific suggestion! Thank you for your thoughtful response to Outrage, it really made my day.
[avatar]
Nancy, are you interested in creating music -or know someone who might be - for December Comes Again? I edited my post, not sure how to make that clear other than adding hashtags. I'd appreciate any tips.
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment. The song was written without vocals. If I ever find singers, alot could definitely change in the mix
[avatar]
@tjeff
Nancy!! You made my day with your comments to my songs - I want to thank you for taking the time to listen! I will get to some of yours soon for sure. Thanks again!!
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your kind words on "Falls du mich liebst", ich habe mich wirklich sehr gefreut, deine netten Worte zu lesen...
[avatar]
Thanks for you nice words. XTC are among the favorites here and I just love Andys guitar skills and wit.
Peace
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind comment on "Surviving Peter."

You're so skilled at writing lyrics!
[avatar]
I just smoke while I am singing!!
[avatar]
@treble
Hi Nancy, thank you so much for your helpful comments on "Addicted to Aerobics." I love your suggestions on how to develop a chorus and am following up on them. You asked if I'd be interested in participating in the Same Name Collaboration. I definitely am but should let you know that while I can write lyrics fairly quickly, it usually takes me over a month to come up with music. Please let me know if you're interested and thanks again!
[avatar]
Thanks 🤗
[avatar]
Thanks Nancy! Holding you to task on the Oak Ridge Boys and Indigo girls if you are ok with a threesome with John and I. Music collaboration I mean obviously GEEZ!
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words on my song! 15 songs in 9 days wow pretty amazing
[avatar]
@nadine
Congrats for winning FAWM
[avatar]
Nancy, my collab with the Pontiac lyrics is now up on site! I had fun with it!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, I really enjoyed your music. Keep Fawming:-)
[avatar]
Awesome, so I was thinking we could do two collabs, one in each direction. One where I send you a chorus and you turn it into a song with verses, and one where you send me verses (and optionally a bridge) and I create a chorus out of it. For me I'd probably send you a draft of the chords, melody and lyrics, but for yours it's up to you if you want to do that or just send a lyric. What do you think?
[avatar]
Danke für deinen lieben und lustigen Kommentar! Ich freu mich total, noch mehr von dir zu hören und bin gespannt auf deine weiteren Lieder! Du warst ja schon irre fleißig! Sehr beeindruckend! :)
[avatar]
Thank you so much Nancy! I’ve been sick and will read my emails once I am feeling better! At this time, I don’t have a voice.
[avatar]
It was wonderful to read your thoughtful review of my tune “Thank You”. It means a lot to me to receive such detailed and astute feedback.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your thoughtful insights on Moving On. Someone else mentioned moving the bridge, but your solution might be what the song needs. I also had not thought of the voicing in the song so thank you for pointing that out! I appreciate it 😀
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! Thanks for the kind and fun comments on "I Thought I Had a Plan." I'm glad you enjoyed it!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on "He's Hot For Her" -- so much potential DAMAGE done in a theatre department full of college students! Emotional baggage is the right phrase. :)
[avatar]
@igg1
Hi Nancy! Thanks for the welcome.....
[avatar]
Hey, nice to see you around again 😀 thanks for listening, really glad you enjoyed my songs. I'm amazed at people like yourself who are racing through FAWM and almost reaching the target. I'm in awe. Hope you have a great FAWM!
[avatar]
@mikeb
Thanks for the comment on my skirmish song, 'What They Said'! I didn't know it was going that way until I got there, either!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comments on my page. Hoping the songs will play out that way. So far one of the songs is along those lines and the other one is more bluesy.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you! When I wrote the lyrics, I knew that I had to do some singer-songwriter stuff, but I REALLY can't find my way to this. I ended up writing something like a punk rock song, and it's been hard to resist the fuzz pedal, which is why I wrote the 2nd chorus (lol). I'm happy that you enjoyed my little song. Nothing serious, just writing some funny lyrics ^^
[avatar]
Thanks for the tip! :)
[avatar]
@brisk
Thanks for being so nice about Special Someone - I'm going to have to go out for humming walks more often!
[avatar]
Thanks for the listen on lonely ol man. Appreciate it
[avatar]
Nancy, we are collab partners. If you want to shoot me some lyrics, my direct email address is mikegtz22@aol.com. If you just want to post the lyrics, I will add you as a collaborator to my site. Let me know! P.S. Has the Pontiac song been spoken for?
[avatar]
Hi Nancy… I too, am working on a version of ‘It’s All Okay’ I’ll post it tomorrow.
[avatar]
Happy sophomore year of FAWM! And thanks for the comments on my songs. I wish I’d seen the Let It Go skirmish, would have been right up my alley philosophically! Conveniently, you have a calendar of skirmishes right here, so I won’t have to miss any other good ones! I didn’t do any skirmishes last year, so maybe that will be a fun challenge this year!
[avatar]
thank you that comment feels very astute x
[avatar]
Hey, thanks for commenting on Paralyzed and Let 'Go' Be The Driver.
Glad you like them both.
[avatar]
Thanks for your kind words on my version of the Winter's Tale. The storks actually have been getting more in the last 20/30. And they stay here in Germany for winters as well and don't fly to Africa, so we're getting to see them a lot more often. 😉
[avatar]
Thanks for your thoughts on my performance defensiveness. I'm gradually getting a thicker skin about all of it, but FAWM was a good place to process some of this.
[avatar]
Nancy, I so appreciate your comments on The Movie In My Mind, and yes, working with David Taro and Kate Stanton was like being in a dream! Now I'm going to stroll through this impressive list of your songs...always a pleasure.
[avatar]
I'm behind on my listening, but super pleased to have read your kind comments; thank you Nancy!!
[avatar]
thank you Nancy, happy fawning
[avatar]
Thank you for your thoughts on "Fish Baby Birthday." I love the idea of it being more like collage. I think I'm too literal and "MAKE IT MAKE SENSE" sometimes, so I want to experiment with leaning away from that in more songs. :)
[avatar]
I'm okay if @tuneslayer works on "It's All Okay" too. I did that with a UK lyricist who wanted to enter a brand new birthday song in the UK Songwriter competition and gave it to a second composer. It was interesting because both songs that started with the same words were so different. It's nice to see how other music folk respond to the same words.

In the case of this song, I was attracted to two things - your words, of course, as well as the challenge to make music that's based on four bar multiples fit with three line verses.

Wish me luck!
[avatar]
Hi there
Just a note to say I have now put a demo up of my Winter's Tale
https://write.fawm.org/songs/14193
Thanks for tour comments when it was just lyrics.
[avatar]
Thank you for your kind words. I'm looking forward to hearing what @paulvt comes up with too.
[avatar]
@johns
Thanks, Nancy.
[avatar]
Yes, I've been involved in a few writing sessions, but I've never heard it referred to as a skirmish before... I just stumbled across this one this morning...
[avatar]
Thanks Nancy, but I think I may have depleted most of my creative juices...
[avatar]
Thank you so much for listening to Hey Minnesota and leaving such kind comments. I like the idea that there's no place that's desolate with the right company.
[avatar]
Ah, thanks so much for your comment on “Flaming June.” I actually did choose banjo uke and that picking pattern hoping it sounded a bit chilly, so you made my night saying that!
[avatar]
OK, I'll play around. Should I email them?
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, thanks for your comment on A Winter's tale. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was totally ripped off from Good King Wenceslas, you are right, I couldn't get it out of my mind so I used it. I took a bit of extra time to record, I don't know how people get it done in an hour flat!
[avatar]
@chroes
I remember the lyrics, yes! I'll try to see if my weird brain comes up with a good melody for them, I'd really love to try. I can't guarantee it, but I'll try my best. Also love the idea of making this a bilingual song. Need to check if I can use the Rilke parts.
I'll add my email address to my profile!
[avatar]
I loved your response on my "Winter's Tale" skirmish! "Stick to the shepherdess gig" is the perfect modernized expression, and terrifically lighthearted! Thanks! :)
[avatar]
I've never done a same name collab. I only write lyrics, though. Ideas on how that could work?
[avatar]
@johns
Thanks for the kind words, Nancy. I'll have to improve my tagging skills.
[avatar]
Thanks for the comment on "A Taste of Yesterday." I appreciate it greatly!
[avatar]
Thanks for commenting on "Mama Dang Left Us" I enjoyed singing on Jason's great country tune.
[avatar]
The Only Way to Hang On is posted. Thanks for the lyrics!
[avatar]
Check your email, Nancy. A song awaits (hopefully) approval.
[avatar]
Thank you very much for your comments :*
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on Feline Fagin! I loved your suggestion of an Irish jig and so will put a bit of penny whistle on it when I record it.
[avatar]
@manuel
Thank you for the friendly welcome and your feedback on my first ever FAWM song! Have a great time!
[avatar]
Thank you for your lovely comment on "You Know That You're Okay"! I really appreciate it :-)
[avatar]
Thx a lot for comments on "Stranger to myself" I am so thankful for you`re description on it!
[avatar]
Thanks for offering some lyrics to try on for size. Try as I might, virtually everything I do turns into a ballad, so that might give you a sense of direction. You'll find my email in my bio, so you can use that if you like.
[avatar]
Thanks for the warm wlecome to FAWM and for listening to One Less Crocodile. Not my usual fare, but I had fun trying to be silly and plausible at the same time.
[avatar]
Thanks for taking a ride on my Roller Coaster and relating it to your family life. Always nice when a song strikes a chord for a listener.
[avatar]
Thank you so much for the kind words about my first FAWM effort. This is such a wonderful and supportive group. I will be back year after year. Thanks again, @nancycunning
[avatar]
@chroes
Ahaha, you made me laugh so hard with your comment about the strugglespaceship! 🤣 Thank you so much for your lovely words, they are much appreciated!
[avatar]
Yes I fixed it, Somehow had two copies up, so when I dumped one I edited the comment, thank you!!
[avatar]
ok you got me.....I had a two song day wow
[avatar]
@chroes
Aw, thank you for your very kind words on the strugglebus! And I agree, you should never let a pigeon ride the strugglebus! But I bet it would make an amazing song! 💖
[avatar]
oh great now kleptomaniac is running through my head making rhymes...sigh :)
[avatar]
@musuko
Thanks for the kind comments! Glad to be back. I always look forward to FAWM. Looking forward to hearing everyone's music!
[avatar]
You can contact me via email. 😊
[avatar]
Maybe - but this is only a idea - we can try a kind of duett? English / Deutsch? The weekend is ahead and I will see what comes up: bass and drums and you can add guitar? Does this makes sense?
[avatar]
@ohdeer
Yay, first Skirmish.
Just try and add something to the calendar and I will see if it is visible to me as well. Good luck with the Skirmish
[avatar]
haha, I get to sing? yay...so I didn't see a link to the forum post, I have done many a skirmish and had some miraculous results yes, I love the adrenaline rush! But having already written and recorded the Red Door one this morning and a very full day of work coming up soon I will hold off on trying to jump into one just yet. My days off are Sundays Mondays n Tuesdays so I may do some skirmishing Sunday (s)
[avatar]
Yes!! Your comments make me feel like floating :) I would love to collab anytime, whichever however you want!
[avatar]
thank you so much for your ears on Red Room with a Pink Door, love the idea for kiddos, I am planning a childrens song series (eventual EP)!!
[avatar]
Thank you so much Nancy! A fixer is indeed a kind of brokenness - I love that observation. People who have been rewarded throughout their lives for helping others, and to keep getting that feeling they keep finding ways to "fix" even if they don't realize it. Ironically they often are not good listeners because they remain in "fix mode" rather than playing an empathetic role.

I would love to collab with you!
[avatar]
wow thank you so much for the listen and comment, that made my day!!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your comment and YEEK to your Silverfish anecdote. That's a big no to layers of their droppings. Creepy little otherwise nontoxic demons!
[avatar]
@reklov
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your friendly words on my starter song! :-)
Woher kannst du so gut Deutsch? I'm impressed!
[avatar]
@hakk
Thank you for your kind words, @nancycunning! Nice to see you here again!
[avatar]
@ltunes
Hi Nancy.. I never thought of it that way, but we Are sophomores! Happy Fawming.
[avatar]
Thanks, Nancy.
[avatar]
Thanks so much for your kind comment on my song. I did use my cheapest, most "toy-like," uke, now that you mention it! :)
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! Thanks for listening and commenting on "Dust Jacket." To answer your question - no, it isn't the song I was struggling with this morning! This one came into the world fully formed in just under an hour; I was amazed. I'm still working on the one I was having trouble with. I may post it tonight or tomorrow.

Thank you again!
[avatar]
I love that you had your hands in water when you listened to "The Moon"! Thank you for your kind words, the encouragement means a lot to me.
[avatar]
@nadine
Thank you! I am not very good in understanding and analysing poetry. I always had a different meaning than my class lol
[avatar]
Whenever you are ready with lyrics for the harmony challenge use the email link on my profile page and send ‘em over!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, thank you for working hard on the lyrics of “The Breakers and the Broken”. You certainly added a remarkable amount of great hooks!I am now going to make a new version that has all the best parts from both songs. Of course, when it's complete, I would appreciate your opinion as well! I have already added you as an official collaborator. Furthermore, once registered with PRO (Performance Rights Organization), you will receive due credit too.
§ Roel
[avatar]
Thanks for all the encouragement, Nancy - you're such a fawmbassador!
[avatar]
If you've got a starting point, I'm down for a same-name collaboration.
[avatar]
Thanks for thoughtful words, appreciate it.
[avatar]
Thank you, Nancy!!
[avatar]
thank you for you caring comment on ill cry tomorrow.
[avatar]
Thank you Nancy!!! Appreciate your help!!
[avatar]
Thanks for the comments!!! Looking forward to hearing your songs this year!
[avatar]
Thank you for the note!! I am going to look into Skirmesh's more... not sure how to stay informed. I'm just getting used to navigating around. But listening to others music would be a great start too!!!
[avatar]
Thanks for your comment on my opening song here!
I look forward to hear or read from you :-)

Your comment meant a lot to me. I feel “heard.” Thanks for being so encouraging.

@johns
Thank you, Nancy

Happy FAMWing to you too, Nancy! I'm excited to read your work, Nancy! As for my GENZ concept album, I remain open to any criticism on my lyrics. Since the songs aren't finished yet, I'd be grateful if you could offer input on how they can sound clearer or more lyrically pleasing. Kindly let me know what itches your attention.

@nadine
Thank you! 😀
[avatar]
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! What sweet things you said, I’m sorry I made you cry!
[avatar]
Oh I'm psyched too. I reckon I can work with whatever you throw my way, but I'll give you a few random prompts just in case: masterplan, kindness of strangers, a sense of longing for something that never was.
Can't wait to see what you come up with, but there's no rush on my part, so feel free to take your time. Now let's get FAWMing!
[avatar]
Thank you for your wonderful thoughts! Barcelona is indeed a incredibly placey place. Its inspiring to think I can write about the place I love and miss so! Thanks for inspiration Nancy. Happy fawm to ya!
[avatar]
Awesome! I'd love to help write a birthday song for your Mom. I just read that detail in your bio and I love that

@jeff9
Thanks, Nancy, for the sweet words. You know I'm a fan of yours.

Hey Nancy! Thank you for the kind greeting. May you have a great FAWM.

Hi Nancy. Looking forward to your skirmish participation. Have fun
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! Glad you are back! :)
[avatar]
Hello Nancy, thanks for the note!
Good to be back here. I read your blurb for this year - good goals!
Happy Birthday to your mom!
Greg won't be on board this FAWM year, so it's just me.
It will be challenging for me this year as I'm working 28 hours per week until the end of Feb, but I'm gonna give it a shot.
I'm hoping to write a bunch of songs that will comprise a "concept album" about me working at a "returns center" for Maine's biggest online retailer, who will remain nameless, but it is probably pretty obvious who it is.
Looking forward to seeing/hearing your work this year.
All the best,
Bob McKillop

Looking forward to seeing your songs!

Hi Nancy! Thanks for the nice comment about my song, Greyhound. Since I hadn't specifically posted it here, that was a pleasant surprise. If you have some lyrics to share that would suit my style, I'd be delighted to try to supply the music.
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! I really enjoyed your song Honey You Already Are. I got chills just reading those lyrics and I totally relate to the song. Your lyrics are beautiful and I love the song. Looking forward to hearing your songs this FAWM!!

@scubed
Hi, Nancy! Thanks so much for your kind words on “These Wide Open Spaces”! And I love the classic country vibe on “Honey, You Already Are” - great collaboration with @jeff9. Look forward to hearing your FAWM 2023 songs!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! It was fun last year! Looking forward to even more fun this year. Let's write THE song!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy!
Thanks for taking a listen to my playlist! I have FAWM to thank for so many of them. I'm looking forward to hearing your new creations! Have a great FAWMuary!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! Rilke, gluttony and songs for your mother - sounds like a busy month! Hope you have a wonderful FAWM :)
[avatar]
Hi Nancy! Looking forward to your German song. 😄 Say the word if you need assistance or a reviewer. FAWM seems to attract a lot more German folks than 50/90. There are even some people from my local area - thrilling!
[avatar]
Thanks Nancy! Best wishes for the coming month!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, I just listened to Honey, You Already Are and loved it! Excellent story you tell in those lyrics!
[avatar]
Thank you for listening to No One Knows Their Names!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy, thank you for your kind words. I hope you have a wonderful, productive FAWM, and that the muse is kind to ... wait, no. I hope the muse is merciless and drives you before her. That works better.
[avatar]
Hey Nancy thanks so much! I am looking forward to your lyrics and music as well!! I am sure I will see you in some skirmishes :D Happy FAWM!
[avatar]
hey Nancy! you might be right...soon as I wrote that I had to put it in my notepad just in case. Happy Fawming!
[avatar]
Thanks so much for listening to my song and the kind encouragement! I am excited to follow you and hear what you create! Love Rilke poems and Americana. <3
[avatar]
Good morning. I'm glad I see you back in the bright light of a brand new day. Here's to the possibilities that a new morning can bring.
[avatar]
Happy Fawm, Nancy.
[avatar]
Soon we will be flooded with FAWM music! I hope you have a wonderful FAWM and look forward to your music!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy. 👋
You are very kind, thank you. 🙏
I actually think the Castle runs me most of the time.
Mmm... brain leeching... there's a new contact sport to try. 🤔 🤣
[avatar]
Aw, Nancy, that's really nice of you. Thank you.
[avatar]
Your question about your mic: the answer is “it depends” if your drivers and DAW let you use more than one USB audio device at a time. Check with Focusrite to see what they say about having the AT and the Scarlett connected at the same time
[avatar]
Happy FAWM Nancy! Looking forward to reading/hearing all your creations this year. Maybe we'll find another fun collaboration
[avatar]
"What trouble will we get into this year?"

Heh heh heh . . .
[avatar]
Thank you lovely! Here’s to a good year!
[avatar]
Hi Nancy, thanks for your reply in the forum thread! I will get back to you with a first draft when I have something, so you can see whether that clicks with you.
[avatar]
Happy Sophomore Year! Can't wait to hear what you come up with.
[avatar]
Hugs, my friend.

@tan482
Happy FAWM! Fellow Americana lover here :-)
[avatar]
Nancy! I'm glad YOU'RE here! I'm sad to say I haven't gotten a pedal steel since last FAWM but if the stars align, I'd love to music-ify another lyric of yours.
[avatar]
We are certainly trying to do well. I'm in a much better mental space than I was during 5090 last year so that bodes well.
[avatar]
Thanks for the warm welcome! Excited to hear the music you come up with this season.
[avatar]
*waves hello*
[avatar]
@jeff9
Hey, Nancy. Good to "see" you here. Indeed, let's duet!
[avatar]
I'd love that Nancy! Maybe we can create something about the love of a mother towards her daughter? We connected about that last FAWM. Something to consider...
Happy FAWM to you!
[avatar]
@chroes
Hello! Happy FAWM, looking forward to hearing your songs!
[avatar]
Hey Nancy! Glad to see you here. Be watching your mailbox--I have a question for you.
