Liner Notes

It's #OddTimeSignature time again (this one's in 5/4) and I've gone a bit #metal. Are twelve tracks of #guitars too much? I don't think so.

Lyrics

There's compensation
Then again, there's greed
And indignation
At how much more he'll 'need'
As if it mattered
What poorer people say
He just acts flattered
And does it anyway

You might like giving things away
or just acquiring stuff
One person's 'too much'
Is another's 'not enough'

He's unsophisticated, a 'glass half-empty' guy
Never satiated; ambitions multiply
Gets richer anyway (that's what rich people do)
You can work 'til Doomsday, he'll still have more than you

That salute he's throwing?
We all know what it meant
Now the clamour's growing,
The shouts of discontent
You think it's accidental?
You think he wouldn't dare?
One truth is fundamental:
This modern life's unfair

There'll be investigations
Performed behind his back
Multiple operations
And new plans of attack
Growing scrutiny
Sees every line that's crossed
Short-term immunity
Comes with a heavy cost

Oh, you KNOW you can never have too many guitars. It's really not possible. And certainly not when they all sound this lovely together.
The 5/4y-iness of this lends a particular itchiness to the already rather pointed lyrics in a very effective way.

Cool stuff, and a little weird. Twelve guitars? Not too much, sounds fine, can't tell them apart. I've listened to enough King Crimson to not have any issues with 5/4 and other odd time signatures, so I quite like it. I like your voice too, a little rough but articulate. And I can picture the guy in the lyrics.
