Around The Bend

This is one I've had in the chamber for a while; I've had the first 90 seconds for at least 6 months at this point. It wasn't until this morning that I wrote lyrics/melody for the chorus, added a second verse and bridge, and figured out how it ends.

The lyrics are basically the same "we're doomed and it's your fault" stuff I've been writing lately for some reason, can't quite put my finger on why, what could it be... but it's FAWM so I'm not worrying too much about improving them at the moment. The point is to finish something, and I did.

Lyrics

no one wants to be here
no one can get out
everyone is waiting
everyone's so proud

of all our grand excuses
all the things we've tried
really nothing much is done
and yet we do survive

[chorus]
yeah, it's over
but it doesn't end
yeah, we're going over
just around the bend

no one knows what's happening
narrative has died
everything's too much now
so we'll just hide inside

we won't even bother
to wave our fists and shout
yelling at each other
while we just wait it out

[chorus]

[bridge]
oh, we used to fight
oh, walk towards the light
we believed the lies
fell too far to rise

This has a groove! That beat really drives this track forward. Intro synth was a nice touch. I agree that this has a Muse feel about it.

meh, needs guitars and a bandmate. ;)

This has always been a banger. Great additions to get this over the line.

Wub wub this synths rocks! Why does give me some Muse vibes though its electronic? Good stuff

Love the huge synth sound, good melody that doesn't go where I'd expected, and I always love the lyrical nihilism. Rawk!

I'm jamming out over here eating some pancakes. Well done friend, love the harmonies. Beautiful way to add contrast is adding some harmony, love it.✌🏻

sweet song! great melodies and synths! and great vox and great lyrics!!
What I think would be cool to hear you play with more is the doubled vox panned it would be interesting to hear the stereo space filled with different vocal melodies more than two one left one right one center different octaves or melodies or both
