Lyrics

Mother Nature don’t mind a landfill
She’ll make dirt in time
And that will be fine
Mother Nature don’t mind

Mother Nature don’t mind a dust bowl
Deserts are full of life
She got all the time
Mother Nature don’t mind

She got time
All the time in the World
Hear the ticking of time…

Mother Nature don’t mind Monsanto
She'll teach corn to thrive
With an herbicide
Mother Nature don’t mind

Mother Nature don’t mind the children
Living their parents’ lies
She got all the time
Mother Nature don’t mind

She got time
All the time in the World
Hear the ticking of time…

Mother Nature don’t mind the armies
They just fertilize
And the Mamas cry
But Mother Nature don’t mind
And the Generals lie
But Mother Nature don’t mind
And the children die
But Mother Nature don’t mind

Very beautiful, moving song, singing and playing. Love the layers, the vocals and the backing vocals. Gorgeous singing and playing. Very catchy song. Lovely birds songs. Love it.

This song has the happy vibe and the acerbic lyrics -- a combination I find irresistible! And your voice is divine! I wish I had a female voice like that!

I lovelovelove the juxtaposition between the surface sweetness and the deeper underlying ruthlessness here. I've had this same thought myself (when people say "We're killing the world"... not really, we're killing ourselves).

"Mother Nature don’t mind the armies / They just fertilize / And the Mamas cry" gave me real shivers. Fantastic writing. This song feels like a classic.

The way my false memories and dementia work, in a couple years I'll swear that Melanie sang this song back in Woodstock, with everyone singing along, lighters shimmering in the darkness and drizzle.

This is a truly beautiful and moving song. The lyrics are solid and the melody is beautiful, very nice work!

I love this idea. I think of it as, people don't need to save the earth, the earth is going to be just fine with or without people. It feels like a gorgeous reworking of Where Have All the Flowers Gone. The way you sing it also adds all this space and tenderness - like Mother Nature personified. I think it hits so much harder than preaching directly. Welcome to FAWM!

Beautiful. Love the aaahs and the melody variation in the line "Hear the ticking of time…" is glorious. And the bittersweet of a world-ending message packaged in a sweet ballad adds power. The open production with piano and guitar is a lovely platform for your voice to sparkle. I'll be listening to this one again.

A darkness masquerading as a lovely folk song. Well done for making this topic beautiful and not angry. I think it hits home more in this way

Those nature sounds at the beginning are so soothing, and then it breaks into that beautiful piano/guitar combo. Love the lyrics so much! This is wonderful.

This is great. On the surface a pretty folk song with your pure vocals but it has a disconcerting dark underbelly in the narrative.
