DISCLAIMER: Loud, chronically ill, social justice freak here making songs for the resistance. If this isn’t what you’re here for, there are lots of songs on this site that are! Go find them!

Well, it’s official. Guess I’m writing an album of protest songs. 😅 I assure you this is all entirely by accident. I seem to have been possessed by my inflated sense of justice.

As somebody with long covid, I’ve always been a loud advocate for masking. This song says KN95s stop the spread by 70%, but duckbill masks like Auras and N95s are over 90% effective! Pretty neat.

Lyrics

Cold, flu, whooping cough, and RSV
Measles made a comeback in Texas, Harris County
Don’t forget our constant friend, Covid-19
So wear your freaking mask to care for your community

So wear your freaking mask
Wear your freaking mask
It’s not too too much to ask
We’re sticking to the facts
KN95s can stop the spread by 70 percent
So wear your freaking mask or you can go get bent

There’s a lot of big talk from people on the street
How they’d punch a Nazi or hide a refugee
But there’s no revolution sans accessibility
So wear your freaking mask for this disabled family

Oh, wear your freaking mask
Wear your freaking mask
It’s not too too much to ask
We’re sticking to the facts
KN-95s can stop the spread by 70 percent
So wear your freaking mask or you can go get bent

If that’s not convincing, if you’re tempted not to care
Think instead about that facial recognition software
Want to mitigate the risk of pigs finding you at home
Then wear your freaking mask when you protest and where you roam

Oh, wear your freaking mask
Wear your freaking mask
It’s not too too much to ask
We’re sticking to the facts
KN95s can stop the spread by 70 percent
So wear your freaking mask or you can go
Wear your freaking mask or you can go
Wear your freaking mask or you can go get bent

made me smile. I love the energy and enthusiasm in both the lyric and the delivery.

YES, YES, YES! That's the spirit! I've been to a big march recently and was one of about four or five people wearing a mask. It's very frustrating. You've poured all these issues into a wonderful song - thank you so much!

After getting COVID it took me 2+ years to get my singing voice even close to how it was before. In so many “leftist” spaces, people preach community care but don’t wear a mask when it’s so easy to do. It’s worth sacrificing a little comfort to protect everyone! Great song!

Never heard such a cutesy protest song before, at least melodically, if not semantically 🤠

This is so clever and well executed - hard to get a topic like this across with music but you succeeded with flying colors. I love it.

Welp. This is a much needed song. I hate wearing respirator masks just like anyone, but I do it way more often than most people because yeah, getting Covid again when I probably am still suffering from long Covid effects sounds like a terribad idea to me. Thank you for being direct yet cheerful in this musical reminder. And best wishes for staying as healthy as you can, yourself.

Great protest song!!

The line "But there’s no revolution sans accessibility" reminds me of "If it’s accessible to the poor, it is neither radical nor revolutionary".

HELL YES! I love this so much! That last verse in particular is BRILLIANT.

ROTFL...great PSA song here! Great lines. Love the sweet delivery from your voice being so upbeat even with the very real dangers our breath can impose on people with weak immunities. Great uke slaps and lovely melody all the way through....the build to the end is so triumphant and made me smile. This is infectious (in only the best way!)

YEAH!! Great protest song! Especially the "Want to mitigate the risk of pigs finding you at home
Then wear your freaking mask when you protest and where you roam."
