Hey, FAWM friends! I’m Alyx.

I’m a #queer, #transmasculine / #nonbinary human with an increasingly impressive beard. I generally write folky/acoustic songs, mostly on guitar, but sometimes when I get stuck I reach for other instruments, particularly things in the mandolin family. I live in St. Paul, MN with my husband, @fecknom, who is also a musician, and our doggo, Nova, a husky mix we adopted in August 2021. We are a houseful of neurospicy weirdos, and I love that for us.

I'd be hard-pressed to name a single genre I don't like at least *something* from. I enjoy listening to everything from classical music to death metal.

2023 will be FAWM number six for me! I'm in my second year of seminary currently (going for an MDiv in Spiritual Direction...because we agnostic, religiously traumatized weirdos deserve space to make meaning out of Big Life Stuff, too), so I'm not totally sure where I'll fit the songwriting in this year. But I'm going to try, and I'm very much looking forward to hearing what y'all come up with, too!
