When Margot Went to the Wedding

Liner Notes

Here is my take on the movie title challenge. I love the rules:
" You don't have to watch the movie, you don't even have to look into the movie at all. You can base your song purely on the title (or part of it) and let that take you wherever it may."

My movie title was "Margot at the Wedding" My understanding is that the movie shows complex of emotions and I tried to show the idea of this in my music. Instrumentals are open to suggestions and you might hear a different story. Thank you for listening and for sharing your thoughts. Please let me know if you would like to collaborate with me.

Oh, that creamy tone is to die for. I'm with @stewartscissor in that I can easily hear this as a Tom Waits style thing, but a happier Tom Waits. Tom Waits while he is playing with a puppies.

ooh i like this instrumental, it does have that wistful feeling and i can imagine this as part of the soundtrack of a movie - possibly with a montage of shots of someone alone, reflecting on things

This feels very wistful to me. It makes me feel like maybe Margot is either a little envious of her friend getting married or sad that she won't be her single girlfriend buddy anymore. Either way, this is a lovely, moody piece that would fit very well in a few different movie scenarios. Well done!

I have Margot’s life story immediately, love lost and missed opportunities. I won’t go into details- others will have their own thoughts- but it’s rare that I can ‘see’ a story in an instrumental so clearly. Wonderful!

Excellent instrumental. Pretty and sad. Really nice use of the title challenge.

Love this. My mind's ear immediately put Tom Waits rambling over the top of it, but it's great as it is, and it ends beautifully.

Wonderful melancholy. Really like the chorus. I can imagine vocals on top

Nadia, you are on quite the roll. Margot is a bit pensive and melancholy about this wedding. She's not sure she really wants to be there. But she seems to recognizse the beauty of the setting. Beautiful chord changes.

@sbs
Now I want to see the movie - the one you’re showing in this song. 🍿

Nine already...amazing!
This is such a melodic piece that does indeed reflect a 'complex of emotions' and the main theme lingers longer in the mind...

What a beautiful melody. touching. brings me back to before I was born. I don't know why lol. Really sweet melody, I'm enjoying every moment of it. The sound is very clear, the way you play.. really beautiful. I think it's my favorite instrumental so far. Thanks for this beautiful track. On second listen, I hear more things. I'm enjoying.
