power of spring

Liner Notes

#pop #glitch feels like good hooks, wasn't ever really able to pinpoint "what it's about" haha. Eventually I'm gonna replace the prechorus and keep it in the second time as a bridge

Lyrics

V
in my head it’s all the same

in the highest tide
in the rain it’s all the same

if i go outside
i could tell you everything

if i go outside
i could have the power of spring

roll call what to do
how’m i gonna hear my name

i gave up every
one for everything

Pre
and now i don’t know exactly what
tomorrow brings except more white

Ch
smiile you got nothin to say
i’m a big girl i can handle the pace
and i don’t cry when i trip on my face
cos i’m way past hey
and i must make haste

and i can’t take you seriously
and i did fall but that was yesterday
i’m a big girl i can handle the pace
and i don't cry when i trip on my face

This is full of surprises and unique layering of sounds - the mix of old school electronic and modern sounds is so luscious - creates a perfectly intriguing soundscape that makes the listener guess where its going - love your vocals, and harmonies are so interesting

I would absolutely love to hear this in a club. That glitchy beat is very cool, and the little 8 bit synths. The vocals/harmonies are just awesome, and the chorus is a total hook. Your usual brilliance on show :-)

What a jam! Loving the minimum instrumentation and hands in the air swaying rhythmic FX on the beats. Them vocals are so hooky and harmonies are right on point. I could handle it being twice as long, easy!

More than just catchy on the page, @bigmood , this explodes infectious in song! Ultra cool pop and go read, it so easily prods a listen and whoa--noice! How right @roseofstolaf is--ear worm!

This has been in my head for a solid day now. Such an ear worm!

Nothing insightful to say except I really like this. It feels like a breath of fresh air.

Kudos for being able to conjure up such a catchy Melody over top of all the glitchy beats! I have such a hard time doing that and you've completely nailed it here and totally inspired me. My partner just said that this could totally go viral on Tik Tok. "OMG release it!"

In regards to not knowing what the song is actually about...so many of my fave songs I haven't got a CLUE what they are singing about, nothing to stress about.

This gives me goosebumps. So let me explain how cool this track is. When it was a fixture, I used to look forward to going to Tower Records and “discover” indie artists. I would literally be at a listening station for almost 2 hours just taking in all the cool vibes and sounds and arrangements. The whole 9. This right here. Oh yeah, this put me right back at Tower Records. If this was on a CD…it would be bought. Yeah, I think this is that good. Period.

This is so great, love that preschorus (and I'm not sure I'd want to hear it one less time!!) and all the glitchy beats and skips. I like the I don't cry when I trip on my face line, too

This is great. The harmonies in the prechorus really draw in my ear and then the chorus hooks!

The glitchy sounds you chose mixed perfectly with your vocal delivery in the beginning. The chorus is so catchy. The musical genre mixed with your lyrics gave me the vibe of having to go through the motions when you're going through a really challenging time. I like how it is open to interpretation. Great song, I really enjoyed listening to this. 🐸

So many weird and wonderful sounds in this. I love hearing something that I would never have thought of making. It treads the line between off-beat and thumping perfectly.

love it, i'm way past hey too, or fey, which is a word I learned yesterday.
I feel if you lean into the last syllable of tomorrOW it would be a cool internal rhyme with 'know' and make for a fun extra glitch ;)

So fucking cool, giving me Yaeji vibes in the spoken/rapped parts, but then it breaks in what can only be you. The vocal layering is stellar, and the beat choices are absolutely on point.. it hits so hard without making the whole thing hit too hard (if that makes any sense)

This is super fun! The chorus great to listen to, catchy af. I echo the previous comment the delivery is everything.

This is mesmerizing. The instrumentation is glitchy perfection, and I LOVE the chorus - it's got a fantastically understated delivery that makes it so catchy.
