I thought I'd play about with the haiku format (each verse is) and set it in an everyday context..

Lyrics

We shared a cross word,
over a crossword today
Not literally

Metaphorically
And spiritually
Not literally

Then we had some toast
I said that you were the most
We drank cups of tea

Breakfast dilemma
I wanted to tell ya
But I never did

This is first of all absolutely beautiful and second of all so clever on many levels. The haiku all feel so different! And the story is sketched and so complete. Honestly one of my favourites so far this year

It's a lovely vignette with a very British use of words and wordplay. It's a short song and nicely formed.
